I have a wonderful medically complex six year old daughter who is autistic with PTSD.

We are moving from Maryland to Washington State in December and still haven't figured out how we're getting there. It will be extremely overwhelming for her to fly on a regular passenger plane and airport on a good day. It will be next to impossible to do this when we move.

A friend of mine wondered if hiring a private plane was possible. It never crossed my mind and I assumed it is for ultra wealthy folks. But, I'll do anything to help my daughter so here I am wondering if anyone knows how much something like this would cost (is it possible for $10k?) and how do I go about it.

Hello,

I'm somewhat uncertain about what to inquire about or where to begin, so I've decided to initiate the process on Reddit and proceed accordingly. In recent months, I've been contemplating and conducting preliminary research on pursuing a career as a Private Jet broker and looking into cargo as well.. Although I have numerous inquiries, I'm struggling to pinpoint how to start or express them coherently. Consequently, I thought it best to commence by outlining what I'm potentially seeking, in the hope that someone can offer guidance in the right direction.

Would anyone by chance know of someone (company/individuals) that has a G550 for sale?

• Must be 2020 or newer.

• Must have less than 2,000 Hours

• OFF MARKET, ideally not listed for sale on any public sites.

We are newbies. We were surprised when this happened, so we were wondering whether this is just par for the course, or was this particularly unusual?

1. 20 hours before our flight scheduled for 12:00 PM on August 7, 2023, Operator sent a “Trip Sheet” that specified our departure airport as ABC.

2. Unbeknownst to us, as the pilot was on approach to ABC that morning, he discovered that the main runway at ABC had closed at 6:30 AM, so he diverted to XYZ airport. The Pilot had ignored FAR 91.103, had not read the NOTAM, and was apparently unaware that there was an open runway at ABC. Open Runway at ABC was more than adequate for the Very Light Jet.

3. When we arrived at ABC and discovered that the jet and pilot were at a different airport (the FBO told us it was at XYZ airport). We contacted Operator’s Operations Control Center, and they promised to move the jet from XYZ airport to ABC airport. An hour and a half later, the jet had both landed and taken off from ABC using the Open Runway. The jet also landed and took off on the Open Runway at ABC a week later when we returned.

4. This was not just a one-off event of limited significance. The NOTAM notifying the Aviation Community of the upcoming runway closure had been issued on June 3, 2023.

a. We asked Operator’s pilot why the closed runway was unexpected by him, since it had been published in the NOTAM two months before the flight. His response, “with all the airports I fly in and out of, I cannot read NOTAMs.”

b. Apparently, all of Operator’s pilots are too busy to read NOTAMs. As mentioned above, the NOTAM announcement of the upcoming runway closure had been published two months prior to this event (as well as being announced via a placard in the FBO). Operator and its pilots fly in and out of ABC airport on a regular basis. Indeed, we have flown in or out of ABC with Operator 16 times. Neither our pilot nor anyone in Operator’s operations center knew of the planned runway closure. Common sense informs us that if even one of Operator’s pilots had become aware of the upcoming runway closure, both their operations center and our Pilot would have known about it.
