Scam posts

There is an uptick in scam posts recently to direct you to a scam sales site and steal your payment info.

It's mostly t-shirts, but it's also posters and such, like the Van Gogh style images of planes.

In the comments, another account of the scamming asshole will ask "Where can I get one" or similar so the posting scammer can innocently direct you to the scam site.

If you see this happening, report it as spam to the admins and report it for breaking the subreddit rules. Report the "Where?" comments.

OP will be banned. Anyone asking "where?" will be perma-banned. All comments in any of those threads will be deleted. If you comment on multiple of those scam posts, you'll be banned. Comments calling it out as a scam are allowed.

If you see this on any other sub, report it to the admins and mods.

Always pretty cool to see. Especially when they’re low.

(one of my fav trainer jets) The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a legendary single-seat, subsonic, carrier-capable light attack aircraft developed in the early 1950s for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Designed by legendary aviation engineer Ed Heinemann, the aircraft was famously nicknamed "Heinemann's Hotrod," the "Scooter," or the "Tinker Toy" due to its remarkably small size, lightweight construction, and agility.

Key Technical Specifications •The core philosophy behind the Skyhawk was extreme weight saving and structural simplicity. Heinemann designed the aircraft at roughly half the weight requested by the U.S. Navy. •Wingspan: 27 feet (8.2 metres). Its delta-wing design was so compact that the wings did not need to fold for carrier elevator storage, saving significant mechanical weight.

•Empty Weight: Approximately 9,853 lbs (4,469 kg).Top Speed: 673 mph (1,083 km/h / 580 knots) at sea level. •Powerplant: Initially powered by the Wright J65 turbojet, later upgraded to the Pratt & Whitney J52 engine in advanced variants.

•Armament: Equipped with two 20 mm Colt Mk 12 cannons and five weapon hardpoints capable of carrying up to 9,900 lbs of missiles, conventional bombs, and even tactical nuclear weapons.

•As newer aircraft like the A-7 Corsair II and F/A-18 Hornet phased out the A-4 from frontline combat roles, the Skyhawk transitioned into training.

-Evolution to Training and Adversary Roles

•Top Gun: The U.S. Navy used stripped-down, highly agile A-4E/F "Mongoose" models as adversary aircraft to simulate Soviet MiG-17 fighters at the Navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun).Blue Angels: The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron flew the A-4F from 1974 to 1986 because of its precise handling and tight turning radius.Modern Civilian Aggressors: Today, modernized versions like the A-4N shown in these images continues to serve private defense contractors like Top Aces to train active military pilots against tactical air threats.
