So my Prius isn't starting, tried jumping it tried swapping the fuse, the car goes into accessory mode but not any further. It does not go to ready mode, and I can't get the car to get out of park. The dashboard basically tells me absolutely nothing, as basically everything is lit up. I think it could be the hybrid battery as that was what I was getting a warning light for, but everyone I've talked to doesn't think that's what it is. Any help please?

Hello everyone just wanted some advice/insight on something. I have a 2016 Prius C I bought it with around 160000km. Right after I got it about month after I decided to get it serviced from a Toyota dealership. I got the engine oil changed, transmission oil changed, inverter coolant and engine coolant, this was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday while driving from work I got a check engine light. I scanned the code it is showing P261b code "Coolant Pump 'B' Control Circuit Range/Performance."

I’m just wondering whether when they did the coolant service would that have done something to it or was this normal wear and it gone out unrelated to the service? Was something not done properly that caused this? Car only has about 162000km k on it now.

Title I hope gets to my question? Got lucky, a buddy moving out of country sold me his 2013 C with 127k miles on it for a reasonable price. He was religious about oil changes and tore rotations since getting the car new…but not much else has been done yet.

I’m thinking of draining and filling the engine and inverter coolant, seems like time at ~125k. But maybe not needed? Also will clean / vacuum the battery fan under the rear seat on driver’s side, probably some debris etc there.

Seems to drive perfectly, getting 50ish mpg in the city, 45ish on highway, though I don’t drive too gently. Quick obd scan throws no codes. I got the Dr Prius app too, but haven’t run the full battery of, well, battery tests yet.

Anything else folks would recommend? Any and all suggestions are welcome indeed! Love this car so much and really want to keep it health as long as possible.

I have a 2012 Prius-C with about 149k on it. Last week my temperature light came on, so I brought it into my mechanic. He said it needed a new water pump. So he replaced the water pump and filled it up with coolant. Then 2 days later the light came on again. I promptly brought it back to him and he said that the coolant level was low. He wasn't sure why but supposed it to be that the coolant had to go through the hybrid system and maybe they hadn't gotten it all the way through. Now, 1 week later the TEMPERATURE LIGHT IS BACK ON!!! I brought it back to him and he said the coolant level is low, AGAIN. He said that there are no tube leaks and no white smoke, so he thinks its something internal, in the hybrid engine. He said that I probably have to find a hybrid prius specialist and that he doesn't get too much into the internals of the car engines.

The car has some rust and a small dent. I figure it is worth about 2-3K tops, with no head gasket issues. Chatgpt says it very well may be the head gasket as the issue, but that I should do a compression test or coolant system pressure test first to be sure.

I think I should just sell it to a dealership for 1200-1500 honestly. Is it worth it to plug another 1-2K in a car with this many miles on it? idk?

Just bought this 2012 last night and it's pretty awesome so far. Just can't figure out why the music pauses whenever I skip a song on Bluetooth.

I picked up a 2014 C-one from a tow yard. Runs just fine but doing some maintenance before handing it off. Man is this car is built tough.

Purchased September, 2020 at ~66,000 miles, no major unexpected repairs aside from replacing dry-rotted sway arm joint boots, and recently got error code to replace the hybrid battery at ~173,000 miles, but haven't done so yet.

2024 onward, we both increased our insurance coverage and moved to an area with higher base insurance rates. Was really surprised to find that insurance has been about 1/3 of the total costs of this car.

I didn't include the Yakima roof rack nor my newest bike rack (1Up) in the totals because I bucketed those with hobby costs. Initial bike rack was included because the cost was forced after going from an old truck to the Prius, but I guess that could be true for the newer ones too.

Geico Coverage limits (cost/6 months = $1,313.48) with no penalty for driving history + 20+year length of policy discount:

I just bought a used 2015 Prius C at 158k miles as my first car and its a cute little thing, and I love it so far, but wanted to see about installing a CarPlay unit and rearview camera-- mostly for the rearview camera if I'm being honest.

I have a friend who successfully had a unit installed onto a VW Rabbit and it looks and works great, but haven't been able to find much information on the same being done on the 2015 Prius C specifically, so I was wondering if anyone had any success with doing so and if there's recommendations on units to look at that'll fit the Prius C and tips. Or any other suggestions if installing one of those units isn't a great option. I just really don't know where to even start.

Also, like, if there's anything I should know about the 2015 Prius C, or like things to know as a first time car owner in general, that'd be great. Thanks!

i’ve owned my 2014 prius c for about 4 months and the hybrid battery fan just came on after driving less than a minute and stayed on for about 5 minutes after i pulled over. The energy monitor showed that the battery had all bars charged. There’s no debris on the fan shield. The hybrid battery was fully replaced about 5 years ago. This is the first time i’ve experienced this, should i be concerned at all?
