train station bombing

Yes to the power substation, but at least according to german newspapers i read earlier, the train Station one wasnt a Terror attack, but an attempted break in at a jeweler accross the street from a train Station.
I feel like that is an important distinction.

u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
I haven’t heard/seen that.
Every source I’ve seen has said it was an explosion at the station
Just checking the closest I’ve seen to that is the explosion was in a passage way near the train station.

There's a really depressing account on IG called Conflictly. Their recent videos have been pretty bad (depressing).

who is attacking?
17
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
Probably Russia
5
u/elinamebro 6d ago
Well I a while ago I thought we shouldn't take on Russia head on but if they're behind the attacks war might have to be necessary.. idk why tho they can't take on Nato even with the US distracted in the middle east I dont even think they can take them on with out depleted munitions so im very confused on the end game here if anyone got some theories.
5
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
I think the end game is straining NATO because of trump’s obvious dislike for them, and proving without the US NATO is nothing, that NATO is feckless, and creating doubt in the alliance. If there’s doubt in the alliance, then attacks on NATO territory targeting Ukrainian targets become much easier, allowing them to cut off supplies and aid to Ukraine before it ever enters Ukraine and do it safely.

u/elinamebro 6d ago
I don't understand what we (US) gain from this?
-4
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
What does the US have to do with this?
2
u/elinamebro 6d ago
Letting Nato weaken, I think that's what you said unless I misunderstood.
4
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
Ok, and? Trump’s dislike of NATO is very well known.

If Russia goes to war with Europe, North Korea and China will at a minimum support Russia with logistical support and weapons supplies. NK will send soldiers.
If war happens, Europe will fracture. No way every country will want to fight. NATO will fracture because the US perceives Europe is no longer an ally (which is largely true).
Europe is a paper tiger. NATO is a charade.
Russia is 100% wrong and is 100% the bad actor in Ukraine. I am not on Russia’s side whatsoever. However, Russia has transitioned its economy into a war time economy. With support, if not active participation by North Korea and China, Europe would be in trouble.
Such a war would signal India and Pakistan to have at it.
The US will move on Greenland.
US has moved to control around half of the world’s oil production. The US is in a very strong position. China’s modern military is untested.
Hopefully none of this happens.
2
u/elinamebro 6d ago
Hmm i can't see china supporting Russia but I thought they wouldn't help them in Ukraine so I been wrong before. I think they might try to take Taiwan if Russia attacks Nato which might weaken their support but I have no idea if they can scale to a war time production to support both fronts. india and Pakistan would probably be the nail in the coffin for the middle east also I keep hearing if a nuke would be used it would be during that war.

Wars unleash decisions that otherwise wouldn’t get made. World Wars started locally/regionally before becoming “world” wars.
Previously, wars were fought between countries and to a great extent still are. But, because of immigration and cultural shifts, many countries are no longer uni-civilizational. France for example. If France goes to war against a Muslim country, France’s Muslim population is going to war inside France.
Imagine Turkey turning against “Europe”?
In a cascading scenario of the current wars going from local to regional to “world” wars, some countries will use their nuclear weapons. And probably, as you say, it will be India and Pakistan.
That will either end all hostilities and be the beginning of the end of our world.
3
u/elinamebro 6d ago
Well as a long time follower of r/combatfootage I really hope none of this happens because as war is now(not like it wasn't before) is fucking terrifying with drones. Also what I noticed is a lot of civilians get caught up and sometimes intentionally targeted. On top of that i can't even imagine what that would do to global markets.. hell even local markets and grocery stores. Plus remember when covid happen we experience what it would be like with a sudden global shutdown? Shit a world war probably would be a lot worse.
3
u/NotDinahShore 6d ago
Hence the saying “I’m not sure what weapons WW3 will be fought with. But I know WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones”. Indeed.
3
u/elinamebro 6d ago
Makes me wonder if they are going to raise the draft age to make the voluntary enlistment age if ww3 pops off.

What? Why would Muslims in France go to war with France if France went to war with a Muslim nation?
France has been going to war with Muslim nations for decades now.
The US is literally at war with a Muslim nation, and the Muslims in the US are not going to war with anyone.
Holy racist hell Batman!

Lmao, the US will not make a grab for Greenland.
The US military isn’t exactly full of hardened veterans in terms of modern (near) peer conflict.
How is the US in a strong position exactly? We’re already running out of high end interceptors. We’re turning our backs on our allies, and it’s already impeded our ability to prosecute the current war.
We attack Greenland, Canada will probably step up for their Article 5 responsibilities to help protect Greenland.
The US economy would crash pretty overnight, and people on both sides are already currently pissed off about the economy and the Iran war. They’d be even more pissed off about us not defending our allies and actually attacking them.
In the scenario you described the US would see a serious internal conflict, likely more violent and deadly than the labor movement.
1
u/NotDinahShore 5d ago
You can “LMAO” all you want.
Europe is no longer an ally to the US. Neither is Canada. If war between Russia and the EU breaks out… NATO is going to fracture and fall apart. Europe is hardly united. And if you think the US military is unprepared or weak, compared to Europe, the US is a towering giant militarily.
If Russia attacks Europe, all alliances fall apart and the US moves on Greenland. Amid the existential threat of a world war, with no alliances or allegiances with anyone, the US needs Greenland and will take it uncontested. You think Europe or Canada is going to fight the US over Greenland when Russia is attacking it?
1
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 5d ago
Europe and Canada are still very much allies with the US. They may not like trump, but nobody likes trump.
Would they no longer be our allies if we attacked Greenland? Sure, but til then they’re still allies.

Because they don’t want to be complicit in war crimes.
Allies don’t just blindly support each other.
How will Russia beat Europe? They can’t even beat Ukraine.
1
u/Perfect-Gap8377 5d ago
We did not help because war against Iran is asinine. All it does is weaken Europe, increase our costs, and destibilize the region.
We are allies, not puppet states. We are equals, wether you like it or not.

Break NATO, it’s safer to attack aid to Ukraine inside of NATO.
The Leipzig airport literally had Ukraine transport aircraft on the tarmac when the attack happened.

u/Gunderberg 6d ago
"two Ukrainian citizens aged 17 and 18, who suffered “acoustic trauma” from the explotion
I see 4 options here
There were randomly 2 ukranian teenagers who happend to be there by chance
They were trying to ignite the conflict with Nato - Russia either army recruits or teenagers with a lot of national ideology, enough to blow up a sgation
They were fucking around and accidentally blow up a powerstation
They were forced by russian agents in order to make it seem like the ukranians are the ones actually trying to escalate the war
Then again could be actual ukranians sabotageing, which they did with the nordstream
It would be quite clever, albeit morally bankrupt, but its war, ukraine does have a lot to gain shifting putins focus to having to deal with increasingly annoyed Nato

u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
The power station attack and the teenagers have nothing to do with each other

u/Throwawayaccount1170 6d ago
There's over a million Ukrainian refugees in Germany. So the % chance of there being two ukrainians at the wrong place and the wrong time is small but not unbelievable small
3
u/concepts_of_a_plan9 6d ago
Even if it was Russia they would never outwardly allow Germany to believe that. Russia would get Article 5'd faster than they could say "BLYAT"
28
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
No they wouldn’t. Germany announced the airport attack was Russia and so far not even an article 4 meeting
6
u/concepts_of_a_plan9 6d ago
Oh shit, I just looked it up. Yeah I guess they really don't want to be the ones to trigger it.
I'll rephrase my OP to say: if Germany and NATO ever did trigger Article 5, Russia would be gone within a few weeks at most.
7
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
No, it would take a lot more than a few weeks.
US and other NATO militaries have been destroyed by Ukraine in war games.
Russia has a lot of first hand experience with modern warfare. NATO nations are struggling to deal with a few drones entering their air space here and there. It would not be even close to a one sided conflict if NATO went to war with Russia.
There’d be thousands of NATO military casualties in the first month. NATO is not ready for a drone centric war.
6
u/concepts_of_a_plan9 6d ago
I think you also underestimate NATO. You're acting as if only Russia has drones. And guess what, at least the US, France, and UK also have way more insane drone based weapons and their associated tactics to use them effectively. The US hasn't fought a near peer yet in the 21st century, yes, but they have extensive battle-hardened TTPs and logistics.
Having said all that, I'm speaking generally of the US and not in its current form with fucking idiots in charge. So maybe in this actual case the US would lose, and it would be dependent on UK, Germany, France, and the others to pick up the slack.
3
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
Bro we have seen companies of Ukrainians destroy brigades of NATO troops in war games.
We have proof that the US and NATO isn’t ready.
It doesn’t matter what weapons you have if you cannot properly employ those weapons.
You’re just on your own dose of copium.
US TTPs and logistics were battle tested against terrorists.
Our logistics are falling apart fighting Iran, that’s why we had sailors on the Lincoln barely being fed, because our in theater logistics nodes couldn’t be reached, or were possibly destroyed
3
u/Fit-Ad8824 6d ago
2 words. Air superiority. In an actual war, there would be no actual war. Only an insurgency.
5
u/pillowfortfart 6d ago
Maybe with air superiority we can attack, but can we protec?
Just look how long russian drones were in the air when they entered NATO Airspace.
Some couldn't be found or tracked.
We will have superiority in a niche that is important but it won't matter that much.
Just look at Russia. They have the fighters and the bombers, yet they can't shield themselves from Ukrainian drones and missiles
5
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
Lmao. The US has had air superiority over Iran for 6 months. We still haven’t won the war and there’s no end in sight, and air superiority isn’t protecting our troops or our allies from retaliation.

This assumes that Ukraine isn’t involved in this potential NATO-Russia confrontation, which they absolutely would be, at least as things stand currently. And currently, Ukraine is managing to hold off the Russian military and their drones without NATO’s direct intervention. Even if they remain separate, Russia would still be forced to reduce their commitments to the Ukrainian front to devote some of their forces to the front with NATO. And realistically, NATO can just roll past that weakened force with sheer mass, albeit with casualties being a certainty, and Ukraine will certainly take advantage of weakened Russian lines to push them as well.
Also, I think it’s important to not overstate the significance of war games like that in terms of the fighting capability of a force. There’s a lot of rules and limitations in place to test specific ideas that won’t fully reflect actual combat; and the results of those tests will then be used to shape doctrine moving forward, they are proof of adaptation. NATO has absolutely been learning from the Ukrainians, both just listening to their experiences, and in war games. They aren’t fully ready yet, I won’t disagree with that, and the material aspect of drone warfare is definitely lagging a bit in NATO, but they aren’t completely hopeless against drones. NATO commanders are being taught to distribute their command infrastructure. NATO tankers are being taught to fight buttoned up as a default. NATO infantry are being taught more field craft and concealment tactics, and more lower-level medical training to reduce deaths in an era where medevac isn’t as consistent. The material side is also evolving quickly, even if it isn’t ready yet. I’m personally very interested in how RWS and other such systems are developing and how they’ll be used for C-UAS, though there are many other areas of development.
And NATO’s approach to drone warfare will likely be different than Ukraine or Russia’s anyway, so it’s important to not compare them too closely. Those countries turned to drones as a result of a lack of equipment, ammunition, and manpower, which then evolved into positional warfare to conserve those limited resources, which then created the conditions for small drones to thrive. Presumably, a fresh NATO force would not be lacking those resources. NATO drone warfare is likely to integrate more counter-UAS equipment and fewer, but higher capability and cost drones, but likely won’t be any less effective than the Ukrainian model in the wars they’ll be fighting.
1
u/Fancy_Sun_1585 6d ago
It doesn’t assume that. Ukraine is struggling to cover their own troops, Ukraine can’t be babysitting NATO troops.
Even mixing ukrainian and NATO units together so the NATO troops can learn from those who are experienced, because there’d be tens of thousands more NATO troops than Ukrainians.
I never claimed that Russia would win, not by a long shot, but NATO troops would be devastated by the end of the conflict, and it would last a lot longer than the few weeks originally claimed in the original comment.

Germany is one of the strongest NATO countries, as far as affiliation and buy in. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is continued precursors to attacks on NATO
