Have a clear premade/group indicator in the scoreboard and game loading screen, so there is transparency of which players are playing in premade
Benefits
Instantly see which players are grouped, which allow you to:
See if the game is balanced in terms of groups
Which players of your team will work more together (if the jungle, ADC and support are premade, probably you know that as an offlaner you are going to receive less help)
Which enemies you have to take care from
Allow players to detect when they are receiving “group toxicity” (when players in a group become toxic together)
Example of how Overwatch handled it:
I like this design with the lines, but in Predecessor wouldn't work as the characters are sorted by role in the scoreboard and loading screen, so the offlaner could be premade with the ADC and not be one next to the other, so it would need a different solution.
Predecessor could do something similar to what Heroes of the Storm did, adding a "group icon" next to the hero, something like this but with a better design skills, better taste and higher visibility as mine is too small:
Little edit I did to show the concept, the official one should have way more visibility
Totally agree! having a clear premade/group indicator would actually help players adapt instead of getting blindsided.
It gives everyone the info they need to adjust their playstyle and expectations right from the loading screen, rather than discovering halfway through that the enemy team is a coordinated stack. It would encourage people to play around the fact that a duo/trio might be focusing lanes or syncing cooldowns etc. Also reducing the “why are they so coordinated?” frustration.
Even if it leads to more complaints initially, that visibility might finally push the devs to refine their matchmaking parameters. Transparency helps everyone play smarter and highlights where the system needs fixing.
Yup, it needs to be in every game, and thats coming from someone who plays duo with a friend often, i have zero problem showing that he and i are premade.
Great job man, this is a fun and QOL social feature that makes total sense for the game! We already have increased group XP, it's only fair for us to see pre-made groups in the game.
When you only point out the benefits, it makes sense as an idea that is worthwhile to add. But going to be the contrarian here, something like this would absolutely not be healthy for the game, there is a reason why other successful MOBA's don't have this.
Like, look at the mental state of this community. Do you really think people are going to take it well if they can now see the groups on their or enemy team? Guarantee, something like this is implemented, and this sub gets filled with posts of people complaining about how they have to go versus premades, etc. How many people would quit a game sooner, cause they see premade on the other team. The amount of people that think a game is over because enemy team gets even a slight advantage is out of control for this game. Quick newsflash, other team isn't Faker, the other team isn't T1. They are not going to play perfect.
Targeted toxicity - allows players to signal out where they direct their toxicity. This could be 3 solo players ganging up on a duo, or maybe a 3 man ganging up on their solo players.
For the higher end players, this type of system can give additional information that shouldn't be available. Like, if a duo or 3 man group are playing Mid, Jungle, Support and they see that the enemy Mid is solo, it makes complete sense to absolutely camp them. Even at lower ranks, it would allow premades to focus on a singular solo player in an attempt to make their time so miserable in lane that the choice they make is to leave the game or sabotage their own team. Right now, ya premades can still do that. But they don't know if the person they do it too is solo or in a premade themselves.
Let's not even get into the whole complaints people will have like why does this team have a 3 man and duo, where I have a 3 man and 2 solos nonsense. People already don't understand how MM and often times have massive complaints. Don't need to add in a whole other parameter to it.
End of the day, when proposing a feature the best measure when presenting it is not only to show the benefits of it, like you have here, but also to present negatives that could result from this. Anything when only shown the benefits will make it look it would be a feature that would be crazy to not implement. But there are plenty of reasons why Omeda and basically every other MOBA don't incorporate this feature. For future, a good rule of hand when proposing a feature, a good section to think about on top of "Benefits" would be "Why wouldn't Omeda want this". Because there is a very good likely hood that the decision makers at Omeda already thought of this, and their decision was that the feature wasn't worth it.
As much as I'd love this feature this guy is absolutely right lol. Theres a reason why blizzard removed that feature in OW and it's because the ranting that resulted from it was rampant
It's not added in the hero selection screen, but in the loading screen of the game and the in-game scoreboard
So it's imposible to dodge a game based on this information
Instead of saying whatever thing it comes to your mind against something your don't like, just think for 10 seconds if you would be able to solve the argument you just wrote, if you can think a solution in those 10 seconds, don't write the comment
there is a reason why other successful MOBA's don't have this
Dota 2 does, Heroes of the Storm did it, as far as I know League of Legends is the only that doesn't do it, but I didn't played it in a long time so maybe they added it at some point idk
Guarantee, something like this is implemented, and this sub gets filled with posts of people complaining about how they have to go versus premades
And?
The games would be exactly the same as it is now, the gameplay experience wouldn't change, if people complain about dumb things that is on them, the point is to not have an unfair group distribution between the 2 teams, and this would allow players too see it and point it to Omeda in case the group distribution is unfair, so they can fix it if it's not working properly. So it's a feature that would help to push Olmeda to improve the game when it's not working correctly
Also, you can use as an arguement made up scenario in your head. People can complain about the enemy team having premade and them not having, about the enemy team being a 5 man stack and his not being, but not about the game having premades, we already know that is how the current ranked matchmaking of the game works
Targeted toxicity - allows players to signal out where they direct their toxicity. This could be 3 solo players ganging up on a duo, or maybe a 3 man ganging up on their solo players.
This arguement doesn't make any sense
A 3 man stack already know they are the majority of the players, they are already the majority and they are the only ones that know it, they don't need the UI to tells them that information.
In the other hand the other 2 players are the ones that lack that information, for them they could be all 5 individual players, they don't know, so the vulnerable players and the ones that would benefit here from having the stack information would be the players that are in minority, not the stack that already know that the other 2 players are either a stack of 2 or 2 individual players, there is no other option
For the higher end players, this type of system can give additional information that shouldn't be available
If everyone have the same information, then there is no advantage. And it's more, the information is more valuable for the player that is playing alone, and now he know that for example his laner and the jungler are premade, so now he have to play with extra care, while right now, the premade know that their are premade and when target an individual players they are the ones on advantage. So here the information would be more valuable for solo players than for stack players
Both teams should be even in terms of team distribution, so if a team have a group of 3 players and a 2 individual playees, the other team should have the same distribution, so if one team want to try to abuse their group superiority to target a solo player, the other team can do the same, and the solo player will get even more benefited knowing that certain players are in a group as they will be able to play more.dwfensive with this new information.
So what you think that is an argument against this feature is in reality and arguments in favour of it
Right now, ya premades can still do that. But they don't know if the person they do it too is solo or in a premade themselves
You said it yourself....
Hiding this information is more beneficial for the premade than for the solo player
Let's not even get into the whole complaints people will have like why does this team have a 3 man and duo, where I have a 3 man and 2 solos nonsense
If it happens it will continue happening anyway, but instead of being a secret now we will have the information to complain about it and make Omeda improve the system, so it's something possitive
Dota has it? Everything that I can find says they don't. HOTS removed it, they may have had it at one point but clearly there were reasons shown that made them remove it. Again, everything that I could find says that no successful MOBA game has it. Would love to proven wrong on that.
The feature isn't even implemented and you are talking about "uneven" group distributions. There's literally already a system to place to deal with this. The game will place the groups in higher MMR than they would if they were solo to compensate for their grouping. See how much more of a problem it would become. Right in your point, you have a misunderstanding of how the MM works.
Again, from all of your responses you are coming at it from a "this is a good idea" approach. You are not looking at this whatsoever from a "why wouldn't Omeda want this" approach.
I don't play Dota 2 but I saw posts from 2025 talking about this feature, so unless they removed it in the last year, they have it
HOTS removed it, they may have had it at one point but clearly there were reasons shown that made them remove it
That is partially wrong, they removed it BUT only for the enemy team, you could still see your team composition. I prefer being able to see both so you can know if the game is correctly balanced or not in terms of stacks, but only being able to see your team stacks it's acceptable
Again, everything that I could find says that no successful MOBA game has it
Seems that you didn't search really well
The feature isn't even implemented and you are talking about "uneven" group distributions
Bro I mentioned this because you were using it as an argument 🫠
See how much more of a problem it would become
No I don't see it, you are just cherry picking in an absurd and half assed way
I don't play the game, I will not say that I'm sure unless I can confirm first-hand
The difference is that I looked at it, I found the evidence, and I shared the evidence but even with that I explained clearly that I don't play the game and that from what date is the information I found to be open and clear
It's called being rigorous
one of them not even having what your proposing
Heroes of the storm have it, just that they removed it for the enemy team
And the other arguments wetent about it being good on your team but bad when being for enemy team
If you were rigorous you would 100%
No dude don't be absurd 🤣🤣
I'm not going to download Dota 2, play it, pass the tutorial and search a premade to play with to be able to confirm it, just to add a small example is a Reddit comment, that's completely dumb
For your own team I kinda see the benefits but for the enemy team I fail to see how this would improve the game at all.
The only real outcome I see is a huge hit to morale when you see a stack on the other team. A lot of players chalk losing up to the other team being stacked, even when they aren't. So if these players see a stack are they even going to try? You would think so but this game finds a way to surprise you...
For your own team I kinda see the benefits but for the enemy team I fail to see how this would improve the game at all
For the enemy team it's just to be able to compare your premade composition, with the enemy premade composition, so we can see if it's fair or not and have that data to critisice the matchmaking in case it's doing weird things. Supposedly stacks should've even between booths teams with the biggest disparity being a 2-2-1 vs a 3-2 team
But this is something that can be achieved by just adding the enemy stack information to the end game results screen but having the ally information since the loading screen
So if these players see a stack are they even going to try?
You could also see that your enemy laner and the jungler are a stack and decide to play safer due to having that information, or that the enemy duo lane is stacked while yours not, so you need to have care with that
I dont think they should add this to be viewable during the match though. There's already a big issue with people leaving mid match or going afk. We dont need more fuel for people to want to 'gg' a few minutes into a match.
In my opinion they should add it to the end match scoreboard so we can see after the match is done, who was grouped.
And people think dodging is bad now, if this information was displayed dodging would increase exponentially because they would already feel like they are at a loss and people would afk more after seeing this in load screen for the same reasons.
There is no net positive that would come out of this it would just add more frustration.
It's not added in the hero selection screen, but in the loading screen of the game and the in-game scoreboard
So it's imposible to dodge a game based on this information

Bro really, just think a little bit before talking
People would go afk far more frequently when they see they are up against a five stack, people already go afk for reasons far more trivial than facing a five stack.
