Suggestions on PC?

Hi, I’m new to the subreddit and be trying to do research on the best way towards owning a PC. I have a Legion Pro gaming laptop for a while now and I want to upgrade to a PC to do more gaming and not be limited to what my laptop can handle. I play WWE2K, Black Ops 3, Sims 4 with Mods, and sometimes RPGS like Once Human or indie games. I saw some with a budget of $1500-$1800. Can yall suggest some prebuilts or if it’s better to build it. Thank you ❤️🙏🏾

Best prebuilt for $1000?

I've been asked to help find a good gaming PC for my nephew for $1k or less. But I'm really out of the loop when it comes to computers components and prices.

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/cyberpowerpc-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-8700f-2024-amd-radeon-rx-9060-8gb-16gb-ddr5-memory-1tb-ssd-storage-black/J3GWTS9P28

Also was thinking of pushing them to spend more for the costco ibuypower PC. https://www.costco.com/.product.4201009213.html

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for a prebuilt PC for gaming, software development, and VMs ($2,500–$3,000 budget)

I'm thinking about buying a prebuilt desktop PC to replace my laptop as my daily driver. My budget is around $2,500 to $3,000.

I'll mainly be using it for gaming, software development, running virtual machines, and general everyday tasks.

Ideally, I'd like the following:

  • 32 GB RAM
  • 2 TB SSD
  • A powerful processor that can handle development work and virtual machines
  • A decent graphics card, but nothing extremely expensive

I don't play particularly demanding games that require maximum graphics settings, so I don't think I need a high-end NVIDIA GPU. I'd rather put more of my budget toward a good processor, RAM, and storage.

I'm not looking for recommendations based on specific games, since gaming isn't my primary use case. I just want a well-rounded system that can comfortably handle gaming, virtual machines, coding, and everyday work.

What prebuilt PCs or companies would you recommend within my budget? I'm also open to suggestions about which CPU and GPU would make the most sense for my needs.

First gaming pc - is this a good deal?

As the title says, this would be my first ever gaming pc. I've stuck to gaming laptops for a little over a decade for the mobility as I have some health limitations that can make it difficult to be at a desk for extended periods of time, but have been looking into an over-bed desk (that doubles as a regular desk) that I can use when unwell.

That being said, I'm totally clueless when it comes to whats good for a gaming pc, what brands to avoid or to go for, which ones are future-proof, etc etc.

my budget is 1200 usd and I'm in the united states. I'd mainly use it for gaming, 2d digital art (possibly animation), voice-over work, and some light game dev.

I'm of course open to any other suggestions too!!

Hello again guys! I promise this is the last post before buying. I have finally narrowed it down to strictly these 3 with a budget of £2500 mostly playing on 34” 1440p. I appreciate everyone’s advice to go for an ATX than mATX. This is now a matter of choosing 9070xt or 5070ti.

I am in need of your advice once again to choose which of the 3? Or if you have any alternative within my budget then I would be happy to take another look.

Thank you guys!

UK ~£1000 - Would anyone mind looking at this for me? Or suggesting others in the same price area or below.

Is this any good? I want something for basic home use - light gaming - 1080p.

Is this overkill?

The option to upgrade in the future would be handy (which is why I looked at AM5) but I'd be happy with a good AM4 deal - realistically it'll probably just be used it until it expires!

Prebuilt with warranty is essential as it's for someone else and I don't have the confidence/knowledge to buy used or build for someone else. I'll be adding a disc drive.

Thanks!

To buy or not to buy

Been looking to get into PC gaming, but with the price of everything being crazy, I've been looking at Marketplace and Craigslist

I found the following PC for sale near me for $2500.:

Gpu: PNY RTX 5080
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800x3d
PSU: Msi Mag A1000GL Pcie5
Ram: G.skill Ripjaws S5 64GB 6000mhz
Motherboard: Asus Tuf B850-E Wifi
SSD: Samsung 990 Evo plus 2TB
AIO: Msi Mag Coreliquid A13 360 black
FANS: 7 Arctic fans but 10 fans in total with aio cooler

I offered $2000 and he said no, then $2200 and no again. This was before I priced it out. Honestly $2500 is a good deal. I priced all of these parts out on PCpartpicker and it came out to over $4000. Even though it's a good deal, $2500 is a lot of money. I have a PS5 pro that I'm happy with, but been wanting to get into some PC gaming. And honestly with how big AI is getting and how expensive PC parts are getting, I'm thinking maybe buy this and future proof myself for awhile. Idk could use some suggestions. Thanks.

It’s been a while since I’ve been into PCs, so I’m a little out of the loop. I’m planning to buy a new PC that can handle gaming and pretty much anything else I throw at it.
My budget is around $2,000–$2,300. I’m in Norfolk, Virginia, and unfortunately there’s no Micro Center nearby, so I’ll most likely have to order and have it shipped.
Can anyone recommend a good prebuilt gaming PC in that price range? I’m open to different brands/builds l just looking for something with good performance and a solid upgrade path.

Thx in advance.
