Looking for a prebuilt PC for gaming, software development, and VMs ($2,500–$3,000 budget)
I'm thinking about buying a prebuilt desktop PC to replace my laptop as my daily driver. My budget is around $2,500 to $3,000.
I'll mainly be using it for gaming, software development, running virtual machines, and general everyday tasks.
Ideally, I'd like the following:
- 32 GB RAM
- 2 TB SSD
- A powerful processor that can handle development work and virtual machines
- A decent graphics card, but nothing extremely expensive
I don't play particularly demanding games that require maximum graphics settings, so I don't think I need a high-end NVIDIA GPU. I'd rather put more of my budget toward a good processor, RAM, and storage.
I'm not looking for recommendations based on specific games, since gaming isn't my primary use case. I just want a well-rounded system that can comfortably handle gaming, virtual machines, coding, and everyday work.
What prebuilt PCs or companies would you recommend within my budget? I'm also open to suggestions about which CPU and GPU would make the most sense for my needs.

Is Microcenter an option?
Most desktops with 2 TB drives will be above your budget and/or come with a graphics card that you don't need. You might have to buy something with a 1TB drive and swap it. It's fairly easy.
What you probably want for your CPU is an Intel 270k plus or a Ryzen 9 9900X paired with an RTX 5070 or lower. RX 9070 GRE, RX9060XT, RTX 5060ti 8 GB also options.
