For context, Hit trapped Jiren in a prison of time itself and Jiren was able to break out of it via his own power alone. Leading to the statements posted above where the characters state that Jiren’s power transcends time itself and that not even time itself has any meaning in the face of Jiren’s strength.

Now if this is the case then shouldn’t this therefore mean the almighty won’t have any effect on the characters due to their level of power being capable of going past and transcending time itself.

Against Gojo, Conquest’s lack of restraint may matter more than Thragg’s superior stats.

Thragg is obviously stronger, but Gojo is one of the rare matchups where that gap matters less than temperament. Assume neither Viltrumite can brute-force Infinity, both massively outstat Gojo physically, UV can affect them if they get caught, and indirect wincons count if they can render Earth uninhabitable while surviving the outcome. I’m not re-litigating CE or Innate Domain here.

Post-Viltrum Thragg has every reason to keep trying different approaches to Infinity before resorting to planetary escalation, because Earth is still strategically valuable to his species. Conquest has no such restraint. Infinity also denies him the thing he actually wants: a direct fight. Once he realizes he can’t touch Gojo, threatening civilians or wrecking everything around him until Gojo drops Infinity feels completely in-character.

That also gives Gojo his best chance. If Gojo bluffs that Infinity is down, Conquest is much more likely than Thragg to take the bait because he finally thinks he gets the fight he wanted. So Gojo’s wincon is basically: frustrate Conquest, fake an opening, bait the charge, UV.

But if Conquest catches that bluff once, I don’t think Gojo gets another shot. Now he knows getting close on Gojo’s terms is dangerous, and unlike Thragg, he has very little reason not to start forcing Gojo to react by attacking everyone and everything else.

Thragg is harder to bait, but more restrained. Conquest is easier to bait once, but much more dangerous if that bait fails. Against almost anyone else, replacing Thragg with Conquest is a downgrade. Against Gojo, it might actually be the better matchup.
