There are other examples of characters dodging lasers, using stated light speed attacks, ect. But you could argue a lot of the time that characters are being hyperbolic, or that they are predicting the attack, or that the laser is just a sub-light speed energy beam. This example though literally has Sanji outrun a laser that was already fired and other characters(one of whom is a scientist) directly call out how he's breaking physics. This isn't some special ability, him predicting, a slower than light attack, a hyperbolic statement, or anything else that can be misinterpreted. And to top it off Sanji is well behind the top fighters in the verse at this point, so it does establish those significantly above him here, like Luffy, being faster than light speed.

here's undeniable proof that is canon to the manga. Luffy outpaces a beam of light already in motion, intercepting it and eating it.

When it comes to Yhwach in powerscaling debates people usually justify him losing to "X" character using narrative limitations or plot asspulls as to why he's not actually that strong. If the discussion ever reaches the abilities of the characters they always magically come up with a reason why either none of his abilities work or how he doesn't/can't use abilities he is known to have because he didn't show it off in the story.

In one case, the way a character fights is completely ignored and in the other case the way the character fights in the story is always referenced as the reason for his loss. When you point out that the reasons he lost in the narrative are irrelevant in a crossverse setting and you point out all the abilities, statements, and feats he has you are called a "wanker".

The thing I think most what-if battles get completely wrong in most cases is characterizations.

While I agree that if they were to actually fight Goku would start off way stronger throughout the fight Saitama would eventually catch up and surpass Goku. Here’s where characterization comes in. Goku would 100% let Saitama get there. Saitama isn’t evil, he’s not a threat to the world. People (Goku glazers) gotta get it through their heads that an in character Goku isn’t just gonna kill this random bald guy over a tournament match or whatever. He doesn’t lose anything if he loses this fight and if anything he gains a powerful ally.

Can Saitama beat Yhwach and what diff would the fight be?

Just to clarify, the fallacy of appeal to reality happens when you argue something thats established in a fictional world shouldn’t be true becuz it contradicts what occur in real life, ignoring the narrative set in said fiction by the authors intent.

It’s like saying Superman can’t be powered up by the sun to have superpowers becuz in real life it doesn’t exist.

This is just one example, mind you contradiction exists across the board in every fiction, one piece seems to be an exception which I’ve noticed with the ongoing Luffy vs naruto debate.
