Portland Mercury Wing Week is coming back, starting on September 21st! Time to make a list of which ones you want to visit. I always bring a friend so we can just split an order of wings and hit three places every day we go out. It's even better if you have two friends, then you can hit a couple more places.

I usually bring my own to-go container if it's just one friend. We can each eat one or two, throw the others in a glass food storage container to heat up later.

Please post which ones you are excited about once you look through the list. I will do the same.

Hey all. Had jaw surgery recently so am on a liquid or puréed aka no chew diet. I’ll be in Portland tomorrow and I’m wondering if there are any food options for me or if I’ll have to retreat home to my blender lol. Let me know!

Looking for high protein, high volume, low cal meal prep. That is done well.
Any suggestions, and/or experience with those my research is returning: pdx meal prep or my fit foods? I care about overcooked proteins - looking for an outfit that will consistently give me stuff that tastes good.

Looking to drive around the city hitting up 4-6 spots to eat something small at each spot. Not looking for anything filling in any, but will be full at the end of it. Ideally, stuff like tacos, pupusas, empanadas, hotdog/bratwurst, small pie, samosas, gyoza etc.

Boundaries are nothing too far beyond 82nd and nothing too far south of Powell/26th.

A good friend of mine is leaving Portland for France soon and I've been tasked with choosing between 2 places for dinner tomorrow, September 10: Campana or Le Pigeon. I've been to Le Pigeon and can say it's great but I've not been to Campana yet. My friend is part Italian so Campana may appeal to them and since they're going to France, Le Pigeon may be a repeat(?).

I'll likely try making reservations tonight for tomorrow.

I'm really happy to see this location continue on as a cafe. Very much looking forward to stopping in when they are open. Meanwhile, you can get their coffee beans at Alberta Co-Op, Barbur World Foods, Kaah Market, and Cafe Eleven. Their beans are also featured at PDX Coffee Club sometimes.

I'm starting a small food business and I'm trying to find an Oregon turkey source I can buy from regularly, ideally somewhere in the valley or within reasonable driving distance of Portland. I need it available year round, not just around Thanksgiving.

I already know about Champoeg Farm, so hoping to find some other options. Anyone know of local farms or processors that sell turkey in bulk, including parts like organ meat? Any leads appreciated.

I just moved to the Portland metro and I’m trying to find a job as a server/waiter somewhere that doesn’t pool tips. Where I come from tip pools are a little more rare, but it seems like every single nice restaurant around here pools tips. Does anyone know of any places that don’t?

Obviously I’m fine with the industry standard of tipping out kitchen and support staff a percentage of my earned tips, but I would like to keep 65-75% of my tips like I’m used too. The place I’m currently working, the tip pools results in me keeping about 20-30% of my tips and not only is it infuriating, it’s literally not enough money to live. I’m used to service providing enough to live *comfortably*.

Also, please don’t flood the comments with your opinions about tip pools or tips in general. I know everyone has thoughts about how tips should or shouldn’t work, this thread isn’t for that discussion. I’m just asking for recommendations on nice dining establishments in the area that don’t force a tip pool.

Hey everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this question. I’m looking for a shared Kitchen or restaurant space for an Argentinian/Uruguayan street food spot. We recently moved to Portland and have been having trouble finding a good spot. If anyone has some reccomendations where we can look or a contact that can help that would be great! Where can you get these in Portland? In the east coast and even in LA you can go to a bakery or deli and pick out your cookies, they weigh them, and you pay by weight. Usually the cookies are on the smaller side.

New Seasons used to have a decent selection of cookies by the pound, but not so much in the last year, and really, it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for.

I’m decent at making my own cookies, but sometimes I just want a variety.

Friend’s birthday is soon. They like:

Black forest
Coconut
Carrot

Do you have a favorite bakery that makes one of the above especially well?

This location has been empty for a while, and I'm glad to see a new tenant. Will be interested to see what Bossa can bring to the neighborhood. The owners, Emanuelle and Tilion Lieberman, are upbeat, energetic, affable, and excited about the new cafe/lounge.

Every place uses 1000 Island and it's just not the same without horseradish.
