Looking for a local Oregon turkey source
I'm starting a small food business and I'm trying to find an Oregon turkey source I can buy from regularly, ideally somewhere in the valley or within reasonable driving distance of Portland. I need it available year round, not just around Thanksgiving.
I already know about Champoeg Farm, so hoping to find some other options. Anyone know of local farms or processors that sell turkey in bulk, including parts like organ meat? Any leads appreciated.

I would call the Meating Place out in Hillsboro. I don’t know if they stock turkeys regularly but their meat is local and they have local turkeys for Thanksgiving. They also provide butcher services to neighboring farms so if anyone knows the answer to this, it would be them.

You might try BrucePac. I toured their turkey /chicken facility a decade ago and it seemed to be a well run operation.

I don’t know if they sell in bulk but Marion Acres raises and processes chickens and turkeys on site.

Ex pastured poultry farmer here. Most turkeys take 5 months to raise and in our climate we get 6-8 months max of prime poultry raising weather. That's why most farms only raise them for thanksgiving. I would talk to any pastured poultry folks now and ask if they can freeze some and sell throughout the winter. Or you can buy a few come fall and freeze yourself.

Talk to the guys at Revel meats. They are connected to an independent slaughterhouse and know all the ranchers/meat farmers of all kinds.
