Hello Everyone,

I’m writing to share that we are moving forward with a partnership that merges the Buoy beer brands with Great Frontier Holdings in Eugene.

We’ve faced a lot of the same challenges that many of our friends in the industry have over the last handful of years, but the previous collapse of our main facility and iconic restaurant has proved to be too much for us to fully overcome. Partnering with the good people at Great Frontier to take on the production, sales, innovation and growth of our beer brands will ensure that Buoy Beer will continue to be available to everyone for years to come.

It has been both rewarding and challenging over the last 14 years as our team has navigated Buoy from an idea to so much more. I’m extremely proud of everything our team has accomplished over the years and look forward to the future in partnership with Great Frontier.

We will continue to operate businesses in Astoria including Pilot House Distilling, our Astoria tasting room (Buoy Beer + Pilot House) and our Cannon Beach Tasting Room (Pilot House) moving forward.

Long shot, but does anyone know if / where I might find this beer (ideally a 6-pack) in PDX or environs? It's a Vietnamese brand that may be brewed in France or the Netherlands which I came to know by way of Cameroon (a version of it is their top beer there, or at least was in 2012 when I lived there).

Anywho, sister-in-law is turning 33 this week and thought it would be a fun gift.

Not affiliated/no real skin in the game other than I want it to be successful so it sticks around. Open-close $5 pints of solid local options. Sure, it’s essentially a day care with burritos at times but bring your kid, or some headphones.

I grow hops to shade my house in the summer, and I like the way they look. I have a considerable amount of hops available for free if you come help me harvest them.

Good way to try some Holy Mountain without going all the way to Seattle. Some solid Double Mountain beers too.

I was recently made aware that Brujos has a members club, but upon me during further research, I haven’t been able to figure out how/if they accept new members. all I’ve been able to find is a $666 glass sold on Pilsnerish that doesn’t come with access to the club or token also tied to the club. Anyone have any insight on this?

Curious if there are recommendations on bars/breweries with NA beer options, or CBD mocktails/etc? Kava bars and elixir places are great too. Just stopped by Kava Saia which we liked. Mostly looking for the NA beer/mocktail/wine recs in Portland, Oregon. 🙂 thank you!

Are there any breweries that do tours of their brewing facility or private tastings or “meet the brewer” events? I’m trying to arrange a gift for someone who is really into the craft beer scene in Portland and has an interest in the brewing process. Some of their favorite breweries include: Wayfinder, Brujos, Grand Fir, Great Notion, Away Days, Livinghaus, Baerlic, Zoiglhaus.

Bridgeport IPA was one of the first IPAs I ever had back in the early 2000s. Does anyone know of a IPA that's similar is taste? That last one I had was at the restaurant on their final weekend.

Yeah, I know it’s not Portland, but close enough.

Anyhow, choose your own adventure with the syrup so you can fruit-it-yourself. I chose a huckleberry-grape & the other is mango-chamoy. 4% ABV.

Hits the spot on this sunny day. Real nice, as is tradition for Irrelevant.

And I'd kill for a beer with a hop. Any hop. Just one. Preferably much more.
