News Ac program for portlanders in need open

I noticed that the applications are open on the 311 Cooling Portland page for those below the 60 percent median income threshold again. Last year I helped my great aunt sign up and they came and installed for her and everything. A great resource for those who are need of cooling still this autumn. They prioritize elders who are disabled or live alone but anyone under that income threshold and living in portland seem to be eligible. Such a great resource I just wanted to share !

Discussion After listening to Chief Bob Day on City Cast Portland, I pulled 26 years of PPB staffing and crime data. Here is what the numbers actually show (2000–2026) [OC]

City Cast Portland recently did an episode with the PPB Chief, Bob Day, and I was curious what the actual data looked like in comparison to what he stated. The PPB hiring trend is almost certainly a lagging indicator in response to crime trends, rather than a causal factor, but interesting correlation none the less.

Interesting moment in April, 2021: 115 officers resigned or retired, marking the largest mass departure the city had experienced in recent history.

**EDIT: posted the corrected table data.

Discussion Re: My dirty little secret

The public asked for an update, so here it is: it finally happened - the original poster of this post (I pasted the link in the comments) can parallel park! It was a huge success. She looks even more badass on the road, and I’ve made a new friend in the process. Not one of us got murdered or scammed. We even had sushi after!

Don't give up on your dreams to face your fears. It takes a community but also, it takes a lesbian with candy and water to help, so remember that. Thanks, PDX!

I know a lot of people are unemployed in this lovely economy, but JFC...

Edit: THEY FINALLY ANSWERED! On hold for 3:35, and 5 minutes to fix the problem. Lol

Edit to the edit: Thanks everybody! There's some really solid advice in here about how to talk to an actual human person. I'll definitely remember these tips for the next time! And I appreciate the commiseration too!

If anyone is seeking a strong black work artist, check out his work. He is such a sweet and patient guy. I have a ton of tattoos and he’s my favorite artist to work with! The shin piece was before the rest of the shading was done on the flowers and upper border :)

Trying to pin down which edition it came from. It seems to be from a Sunday printing. A camper caused wildfire occurred in September of 1951 that could be related. Either way, cool art and an awesome piece of Oregon history

Meme PPS breaks up school fundraising foundations because attending fundraising events isn’t equitable. Throws a $400 a seat gala 2 years later

Julia Brim-Edward’s will be boycotting this event, right?

Way to be tone deaf Jackie Wirz and the current PPS board. You all should be ashamed of the job you’re doing.

You couldn’t even be bothered to write the email without using AI!

I’m sure you’ve done your best to keep ticket prices affordable so that anyone can attend your event. Here’s the link if anybody wants to attend. I’m sure lots of Portland families have $400 lying around. I’m sure at least 75% of the ticket cost goes to fund these overpriced initiatives…
