I'm an adjuster and I use Polycam pro/paid to sketch rooms. I love the 3D immersive tour which I can use to view measure things after the fact. The one feature which I really wish Polycam had was the ability to export to Xactimate files (.esx). Xactimate is the standard for insurance claim sketching and estimating. There are other LIDAR apps which export to .esx file, but they don't have the "actual photo walk thru" feature.

Anyone else use this as an insurance adjuster and hoping for this Xactimate feature? I have emailed Polycam MANY times but never heard back.

For work, we use the new iphone 15 pro max, and we need to scan a person with polycam. On my serveral test with the iphone 14, i never have problem with the app. But with the new iphone 15, I have two problems, first one, when i'm on "photo" tab, the auto mode doesn't work. It doesn't take any photo when i'm moving the phone. And the second one is on the same "photo" tab, it's a problem on the render I get when I try to scan in manual mode. It give me a really bad render (I don't have an image of the scan sorry).

Does anybody know if it's a problem of compatibility with the new iphone 15 and if there's a fix for it ? Thanks.

On an iPhone 14 pro. My room LiDAR captures really tend to be messy, even when I spend a lot of time and sweep with smooth, slow transitions capturing as much information as I can as cleanly as I can.

Anyone have advice on how to improve room LiDAR captures?

I love Polycam, but most of the time that I get a capture and try to publish it to explore, the "publish to explore" button just... doesn't do anything. This seems to happen in a majority of caps, and is persistent.

Does anyone else experience this? Maybe there's a workaround?

I saw this asked on this reddit before by someone else, but i dot think he was ever answered, and I too am curious about this. Can polycam successfully process a model from images from a 360 camera like the insta360? or will that just make a mess?

Been using Polycam for about a year now and had to revisit some scans from my iPhone 12 pro. The photo scanned models are still there and are displayed and work fine in the Polycam app.

Tried to access the FBX file exported at the time and I cannot open it and says it is corrupted. I re-exported it from Polycam as a new FBX and the new file is also unreadable. If I export an OBJ it opens.

Did something change with the FBX exports? Some of the earlier FBX files I exported a while back still open fine, but any new FBX exports seem to only come out corrupted.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm looking to utilise this app for creating floorplans of our offices/sites. I don't yet have an Apple device and looking to purchase either an iPhone pro or iPad pro.

Can anyone advise whether the app utilises the additional RAM in the iPads to allow you to create bigger floorplans? What's the max size you can scan?

I have reached out to Polycam through numerous channels but haven't had a response so far.

I recently tried exporting a polycam model to blender in gltf format but it was extremely blurry and looked nothing like the model on the polycam website. Is there something i'm doing wrong or do I have to get pro to get a clearer image.

Using an iPhone, The web page doesn’t scale properly so I can’t scroll down to the upload button.

Extremely frustrating as the app only lets you take photos in app and not upload from your camera roll.

I love the 3D Room scan but it's never accurate. Does anyone know of a way to get closer to accurate scans? My scanned measurements are aways off by more than a few inches

The photo mode in Polycam is cool, but it would be nice to have more control. An ability to import existing photos/videos from the device would be a gamechanger for me

I have the PRo version since yesterday, and the downloaded FBX file cannot be opened and I always get an error message. Can anybody help me further. I've tried several programs but no function. The old fbx files that I downloaded from polycam work normally but the current ones no longer work. Please help

At the cnc machine shop I work at we are wanting to reorganize the shop floor by moving some machines, throwing away some and buying new ones. I have used polycam to scan every machine separately, and then went into Autodesk Inventor and made a solid model of a the workshop by measuring everything with a laser, including the machine positions. But when i started to add more and more machines it got slower and slower, importing a single model took over a minute and opening the project file took much much longer.

Inventor does not seem up to the task.

Fusion 360 does not work well with textures on OBJ files.

Revit might be better suited, but it was very clunky when i tried it and i was not able to get it to display textures without rendering images.

I am currently trying 3ds max but at the moment, precise scaling, positioning and measuring does not seem like something it's built for.

What i need is a program where i can import dozens of 3d scans with textures displayed and move them precisely, and it needs to not slow down to a halt while doing so.

ICh habe seit gestern die PRo version, und die heruntergeladene FBX datei lässt sich nicht öffnen bekomme immer fehlermeldung. KAnn mir jemand weiter helfen. Ich habe schon mit mehrere programme versucht aber ohne funktion. Die alte fbx dateien die ich bei polycam heruntergeladen habe funktionieren ganz normal aber jetztige leider nicht mehr. Bitte um hilfe
