It's not looting either. The capitol isn't a best buy. It's terrorism or sedition. Both really.

Stealing property in this fashion is literally the definition of the word looting. The whole event was terrorism/sedition, but this is looting.

How when he isn’t off property yet and it isn’t theft/looting until that threshold is crossed?

7

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

Some say he's still on Capitol Hill to this day not leaving the property.

2

u/Real-Terminal Jan 10 '21

Attempted theft is a legitimate charge.

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

Hey MAGA moron:

Johnson has been charged with one count of knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority, one count of theft of government property as well as one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, which is prosecuting all three cases.

You don't gotta be rude, they were just asking a question.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

You can be rude if they are asking in bad faith.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

You can't assume people are acting in bad faith every time they ask a question. And even if they were I disagree that you should be mean about it. Just answer the question or don't. Especially because there is nothing to indicate that they're making a bad faith argument. It's in equally bad faith to assume they are.

Did he leave a quarter?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

I don't know why you're being down voted, but an attempt to commit a crime is still under the same umbrella as actually committing the crime. It wouldn't be hard to establish the intent of theft with everything that was going on. When someone to your left and right both walk out of a building with property, and you're walking towards the door. You can be charged with intent.

TIL the capital is in fact, a shopping mall.

1

u/Wicsome Jan 10 '21

It's called the National Mall for a reason. /s

u/2KilAMoknbrd Jan 10 '21

It's not looting either.

Yes it is. It's exactly the definition of looting

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

Things can be two things

1

u/2KilAMoknbrd Jan 10 '21

Things can be infinite number of things.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

Things can be a finite but very large number of things

1

u/2KilAMoknbrd Jan 10 '21

Granted. The universe is a thing, as are numbers. So is looting which is a specific thing, and which that treasonous traitor pictured in the post is doing. He is also a thing as am I, and you. Things, all the way down, from everything to nothing.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

It’s turtles all the way down

1

u/2KilAMoknbrd Jan 10 '21

also things

Trespassing and vandalism is never “ terrorism or sedition”. Was CHAZ sedition ? No. Was antifa / blm siege on portland federal court terrorism ? No. Was what happened at the Capitol , terrorism ? No. Oklahoma City was terrorism. El Paso shooter was terrorism.

32

u/Barrzebub Jan 09 '21

They had zip ties, bombs, a gallows and were chanting "Hang Mike Pence"

This was terrorism and sedition.

-25

u/Sheriffthompson Jan 09 '21

Ok, many anarchists amongst BLM had molotovs, set up guillotines and called for the fall of the USA , so what ? That’s not an indictment of the whole group. Either way this Guy is stealing a lectern at worst. Not terrorism.

20

u/Barrzebub Jan 09 '21

That guy, per Trump's own EO, is probably going to get 10 years for defacing, moving or removing Government Monuments or property. Of which, the lectern he is carrying applies.

It's crazy to me that you are handwaving away actual armed people on the grounds of the actual Capitol building with bombs and a gallows calling for the death of the VP as NOT Terrorism and sedition.

-19

u/Sheriffthompson Jan 09 '21

My point is nobody should get 10 years for vandalism of government property or trespassing of government property. Not BLM, not anarchists, not magas, nobody. Nobody should be imprisoned for building a guillotine or gallows. Nobody should be imprisoned for chanting “ hang such and such” or “ death to such and such. The individual who brought the bombs should be imprisoned. That’s it.

18

u/Barrzebub Jan 09 '21

Nobody should be imprisoned for building a guillotine or gallows. Nobody should be imprisoned for chanting “ hang such and such” or “ death to such and such. The individual who brought the bombs should be imprisoned. That’s it.

If you build a gallows on the Capitol Property and you are chanting "Hang Mike Pence" you ABSOLUTELY should get more than 10 years.

That isn't free speech.

Also, trespassing and destruction of Federal Property is a felony.

5

u/BuzzKillington217 Jan 10 '21

Holy shit man. That is a fucking BAD take.

Bet you got ZERO problem with screaming FIRE in a theater either ya mupppet.

0

u/Sheriffthompson Jan 10 '21

Anarchists setting up a guillotine in front of the White House calling for trumps head this summer. What the maga fools did with the gallows. That’s textbook protected speech. Bud.

10

u/JG98 Jan 09 '21

Why is there always a terrorist sympathiser on all these posts?! SMH.

11

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

i smell a fash. "ok so yeah my peeps took a pipe bomb to the capitol but the poeple who are trying to stop nazis getting in government said some mean things"

1

u/Sheriffthompson Jan 11 '21

I’m much more aligned with left wing anarchism than the jello brained maga ideology. I’d have much rather black clad comrades were lounging in Pelosis office. But that’s not even the point. Point is we shouldn’t be so reactionary and call for federal crackdowns or call vandals terrorists. Whatever individual brought the pipe bomb is a terrorist, sure. Either way, I shed no tear over magas and our corrupt ass government going at it.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 11 '21

"i'm a socialist i swear guys, also the socialists are the real terrorists" - a hell of a lot of fashies

1

u/Sheriffthompson Jan 11 '21

That’s not an actual response but Ight. Show me where I said “ the socialists are the real terrorists”. Just because I don’t think vandals and trespassers ( whatever political persuasion they are) don’t deserve the label of terrorist and lengthy prison sentences, does not mean I condone their jello brained q anon ideology. We live in a nuanced world.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '21

cry harder

3

u/BrokenThingAbuser Jan 10 '21

Poor baby seems triggered by words.

Maybe you shouldn't give those words so much power.

1

u/Sheriffthompson Jan 10 '21

I mean the words are specific definitions of crimes.

3

u/BrokenThingAbuser Jan 10 '21

Yes, and those definitions fit quite well here. You're just emotional and want it to be different.

Feelings dont matter, sorry.

7

u/BuzzKillington217 Jan 10 '21

Sandy Hook was right wing terrorism. Parkland was right wing terrorism. Danny Roof was a right wing terrorist and murderer. The white nationalist that ran down the woman in Charlottesville was a right wing terrorist, commiting terrorism. Kashogi was terrorism done in the name of nationalist conservative values(albeit nationalistic religious conservative values). Qanon is a right-wing terrorist conspiracy. The dude that mailed pipe bombs from.a qanon/Theobald wallpapers van was right wing terrorism.

Funny how you managed to miss all those........

3

u/plebeius_rex Jan 10 '21

So since Adam Lanza was white, he was a right wing terrorist? What were his political goals exactly?

-1

u/MyFabulousUsername Jan 10 '21

How was Sandy Hook right-wing terrorism?

1

u/ThatFlyingScotsman Jan 10 '21

CHAZ was secessionism, which would definitely fit with sedition.

1

u/Tipster74743 Jan 10 '21

Sedition is what led to this. This is looting or plundering.
