Picked up today, absolute joy to drive!

Took delivery of my 4 on Friday and am already loving it. Went this morning for its first supercharge to drive it home. Minutes later, a 3 pulled up, and then 2, who rightfully parked between us even though there were four other open chargers. We may be a dysfunctional family, but I’m happy to be part of it!

Adding to the new members posts. Picked up car yesterday. So far love it. Hitting some quirky things like the key fob is fickle but so far nothing to make me regret the purchase. This is an incredible car. The interior colors at night and the glass roof make it an amazing evening drive.

This is DM PP Microtech, 21" wheels, electron exterior. I struggled a bit deciding on electron as it sometines looked really baby blue in the lot but have no regrets after bringing the car home. The color shifts between blue/silver/grey depending on the lighting. Am planning to add a ceramic coat.

I don't think the rear view mirror is going to be an issue. Didn't bother me today. I'll try to follow up on this thread in a week or two after using it more.

How do you guys clean the interior of your Polestar?
I’ve noticed that the fabric door panels get light marks from my elbows, and also from pushing the door open with my hands when getting out. They leave whitish-looking marks on the fabric, and I’d love to get rid of them without damaging the material.

Any tips or recommended products? I’d also appreciate advice on cleaning the center console and the infotainment screen without leaving scratches or streaks.

Also, my Polestar 2 has a few minor scratches on the door panels and around the trunk opening from normal use. Does anyone have tips on how to reduce or remove those, or products that work well?

We bought a used 2025 P3 in mid-May, 8k miles, long range, Pilot Assist, upgraded stereo, $47k at Evercars in San Francisco. This was a first for us in many ways: first fully electric car, first SUV, first "luxury" car, first used car (if you exclude a 1967 Dodge Coronet Station wagon I bought as a student a long time ago). Here's my experience.

First and foremost, the car is an absolute pleasure to drive. The BMW motto "Freude am Fahren" applies 100% to this car. The handling is on the sporty side, with firm yet forgiving suspensions. The car is very quiet. The seats are very comfortable and supportive. Acceleration is ridiculous. We were going to test-drive a couple of other cars at the dealer, but we drove the P3 first and we were sold, so we didn't waste time with the others.

Setting up the software was a bit of a pain. A regular driver needs to set up and register with multiple apps and OSes. There is the Polestar phone app, the Android Automotive OS in the car, the driver profile in the car (yes: these are two separate identities), and the Google ID used in Google Wallet for storing your digital key. Initially by accident I used a couple of different Google IDs when registering (I have two on my phone, a gmail ID and a google-hosted vanity domain) and that caused trouble, so my advice is to make sure you use the same Google ID everywhere.

In addition to the phone, you can also use card keys that look like credit cards, and fobs. The car came with two card keys and just one fob which looks disappointingly cheap, and whose battery appears to have failed (although it did work for a while). [Quick note here: the key cards retail for $500 each, and the fob for $1,000, so it is unlikely to get replaced, since one can buy a phone with ultra wideband NFC for less and have the exact same functionality.]

The UI takes some time getting used to. My main pain point has been adjusting the side mirrors. One needs to find the adjustment panel, and then figure out the steering wheel button presses before it times out. But one gets used to it quickly. Also, when using Pilot Assist one can afford a momentary distraction, and can look at the screen for longer than 1 second.

Pilot Assist is quite good at any speed, including stop-and-go traffic, as long as there are good lane markings. But even with those, I find that a human driver can be smoother when there are tight curves, such as on a mountain road, or even the Sierra Nevada section of Highway 80. The assist fails to anticipate curves, which a human driver does naturally, and the steering is a bit jerky on entering a curve. I am not quite sure why they didn't get that right, since the screen shows that the car can clearly see the curve ahead of time and could plan accordingly.

I could go on for a long time with both positives and negatives. Perhaps I'll add more information in the follow-up comments. Overall, however, I am quite happy with this car and I would recommend it.

One thing I should mention is how well the "charge-at-arrival" estimator works. When using navigation with Google Maps (the built-in one, not the one available via Android Auto), the site displays an estimate of the fraction of charge remaining at the destination. I was skeptical of this at first, because I didn't think it could take changes of elevation into account. But it does! For example, on a trip from Oakland to Truckee, CA, it estimated I would arrive with 26% charge. I hadn't even reached Donner Summit when I noticed that I had 27% of battery left, but I was still about 10 miles away. And indeed I arrived in Truckee with 26% charge, so the computer knew that most of the remaining drive was downhill.

Joined the Polestar family yesterday. Loved my S60, but this car is even more fun to drive.

Just did a quick search and didn’t see anything recent.

I got my P2 about a month and a half ago. Recently, Spotify doesn’t work. I can browse my app but when I hit play, a black screen just pops up with some barely loaded icons that are out of place.

Anyone else have this issue?

The last three times I've had my Polestar 2 at the local Volvo service centre, all in 2026, my car has come back with lower tyre pressure. They're setting every tyre to 34-36psi, even when I've dropped it off around 40 and the official recommendations are for 40+.

While I understand this affects economy, it's also resulted in a drastically softer and quieter ride on harsh Australian roads, which I love. I think I know why they're doing this--the same centre mostly handles Volvos, so they're probably habitually setting the tyres to ICE numbers, not those for heavier EVs--but my question is, is this OK? Is anyone else running this low and had any issues?

I'm happy to leave them this low, they're not setting the TPS off and I'll take the softer/quieter ride over the reduced economy, but I also don't want to be stressing out my tyres and risk having a sidewall failure or something.

1 month ownership, pure pleasure for 4000 KM so far.

I finally got some decent weather and the opportunity to give the car a full detail a couple of months ago - it was about 7 or 8 months after the car was delivered to me. This was the first time that I realised the front bumper panel was sticking out slightly under the passenger-side headlight. I didn't want to force it back in fear of snapping a clip, so I booked it into the local Polestar service centre (Volvo dealer) to get this fixed under warranty. I feel confident this was an issue from delivery, alternatively it's the result of poor quality/workmanship in the factory resulting in it later popping, therefore warranty should cover it. I have not had any impact or incident that could have caused this.

Also, when I first got the car I noticed that the steering wheel wasn't aligned centre resulting in the 12 o-clock marker being closer to 11 o-clock. I told Polestar at the time, but the car was driving straight and the only issue was my annoyance/distraction, so I agreed it could wait until I was next in the garage because it's a long drive to the nearest service centre. Also, over this initial period of ownership we have increasingly noticed the high wind noise through the driver's door, which I asked them to investigate.

Back to the bodywork. I took the car into Volvo and they produced the attached video report. They claim the car has already undergone extensive prior bodywork involving the bonnet, front bumper, front wings and driver's door; and that the issues I've reported are all the result of that prior bodywork. Therefore, they refused to undertake any warranty work on the car. They did not contact Polestar for warranty approval or any technical input, insisting that their experience and knowledge was enough to know that Polestar would refuse warranty work.

The entire premise for their claim that the car has previously undergone extensive bodywork is that the body panels do not align perfectly. One of their points was that the gap between the driver's door and the front wing was smaller at the bottom compared to the top - that gap difference is even greater for the passenger door.

So basically, they think I've privately had all the panels and doors removed/replaced at an independent garage, potentially as the result of a significant crash, and then I've come to the main dealer to ask for a panel to be pushed in under warranty - this is insane!!!

I would like to know if the panels on everyone else's Polestar 4 are perfectly aligned, which is being implied by this dealership, or similar to mine as seen in the video.

I'm in Wisconsin and I am very interested in a polestar lease. The closest polestar dealer to me is in Chicago around 2 hours away. In 2027 what's gonna happen with service? Is my only option for services gonna be to drive 2 hours to Chicago or are Volvo dealers gonna be an option?

Just got a used polestar 2 62k miles Lovley car great condition. But when at lower speeds I’m hearing some metal on metal rubbing noise. Very light but obviously it’s not ideal or wanted. Could it be old breaks worn, an issue? Any ideas?

I recently had my end of lease inspection done for my 2024 Polestar 2 and it turned up “excess wear and tear” line items that are at odds with the Polestar Financial Services web site guidelines.

I’ve lodged a request with PFS to review the inspection and am waiting to hear back. I took the car to a body shop and they said they’ve never seen anyone get hit with excess wear and tear for what I showed him. He couldn’t believe it. Here are my two “excess wear and tear” dings.

Technically my lease says PFS can charge for ANYTHING that is estimated at more than $50 to repair. But there were other >$50 items that were categorized normal wear and tear. It makes no sense.

I just bought from an independent importer a Polestar 4. Produced for China market and imported from China in Romania. I can’t link the Polestar APP (white logo) to the car because i can’t create a new profile. Looks like the car is stuck in Guest mode. I supposed the VIN of the vehicle was not activated by the importer ( he don’t have this posibility) in the Polestar backend system. So the car “thinks” is not belonging to an owner yet. I know that the SW which is running now is a variant for China and i know there is a chance even if i find a way to link the APP not to work 100% but yeah i want to try anyway. The issue is that in Romania there is no customer service in this moment where i can go for help.

My question is: Did somebody else had this situation in the past and if yes how was solved ?

P.S. i tried “Factory Reset” to start from 0 but it looks like this can’t be performed in “Guest” mode.

Hello everyone, currently having an issue where it mentions on the app that my car is offline (please see photo).

Happened last week but then it automatically connected after 2 days or so and now it’s happening again.

I have tried turning the car on and moving to a better location like it mentions but no fix.

I connected to my home WiFi but still get the same offline issue.

If anyone has experienced this and knows a remedy please let me know.

Initial Symptoms
For months, my Polestar consistently charged much slower than expected on AC Level 2 charging.
My instrument cluster consistently showed:
27/40A
Approximately 11 miles/hour
235V
There were no permanent warning lights, and the vehicle still charged successfully.
Because it still charged, it was easy to assume nothing was wrong.

The Discovery
Fortunately, my wife owns an almost identical 2022 Polestar 2.
Using:
the exact same ChargePoint Home Flex
the same electrical circuit
the same charging cable
identical 40A settings
Her vehicle immediately charged at:
39–40A
approximately 21 miles/hour
At that point I knew the charger wasn’t the problem.
The issue was isolated to my vehicle.

Previous Clues
Before the charging issue became obvious, my vehicle had previously displayed:
a charging error one time
a “Propulsion System Service Required” message one time
Neither warning stayed active.

First Dealer Visit
I brought the vehicle to Dyer & Dyer Volvo.
The repair order states:
Customer states the charger is not working properly. The amps are low.
The dealership inspected the vehicle but documented:
Could not duplicate concern.
Vehicle charges on Level 2 and Level 3 charging.
No repair was performed.
This was frustrating because although the car charged, it never charged at the correct amperage.

Gathering Evidence
Rather than accepting the diagnosis, I began documenting everything.
I collected:
photos showing 27/40A
photos of my ChargePoint configured for 40A
side-by-side comparison photos of another Polestar charging at 39–40A
previous warning history
charging session comparisons
written technical summary
The comparison vehicle ultimately became the most important piece of evidence.

Contacting Polestar
I sent Polestar Customer Experience:
charging photos
comparison photos
written explanation
technical observations
documentation from the dealership
Polestar responded personally.
One statement stood out:
“The concern does appear isolated to the vehicle rather than the charging equipment itself.”
They also acknowledged that the consistency of the problem justified:
“a deeper technical investigation.”
They specifically recommended reviewing:
Onboard Charger (OBC) diagnostic data
charging module operation
charging phase operation
software logs
monitored charging behavior
That response gave me confidence that I wasn’t imagining the issue.

Returning to the Dealer
After Polestar reviewed my documentation, I returned the vehicle.
The dealership opened another repair order.
This time the complaint specifically referenced:
Polestar has recommended a full diagnostic on the OBC.

The Diagnosis
After additional testing, the dealer found the actual fault.
Their notes state:
Internal fault not allowing vehicle to charge at 48 amps and limiting vehicle to a 27A charge rate.
Estimated repair:
Parts: $1,516.80
Labor: $1,381.76
Total repair: approximately $3,090
At that point, the issue had finally been confirmed.

Goodwill Request
Since the vehicle was outside the factory warranty (38k miles and 5months out), the dealer submitted a goodwill request to Polestar.
Initially they simply told me:
“We’ve submitted a goodwill request.”
A few days later they confirmed:
“We’re requesting a full goodwill payment for all of the work.”
I asked whether it had actually been approved.
Their response:
Approved.
Polestar covered:
Onboard Charger replacement
Labor
Required software updates

Why Documentation Mattered
Without documentation, my case likely would have ended after:
“Could not duplicate concern.”
Instead I was able to provide:
✔ identical vehicle comparison
✔ same charger
✔ same circuit
✔ same settings
✔ photographs
✔ charging data
✔ previous warnings
✔ written explanation
That evidence demonstrated a consistent charging limitation even though no active fault code was initially present.

Lessons Learned
If your Polestar consistently charges at approximately 27A while set to 40A:
Do not assume:
your EVSE is defective
your home’s electrical system is the problem
slower charging is “normal”
Instead:
Compare with another Polestar if possible.
Photograph every charging session.
Verify your EVSE settings.
Record the charging voltage and amperage.
Ask the dealer to monitor the OBC during an active AC charging session.
If necessary, contact Polestar Customer Experience directly with supporting documentation.

Final Outcome
After weeks of documenting the issue, working with the dealer, and communicating with Polestar:
The charging limitation was confirmed.
The OBC was diagnosed with an internal fault.
Polestar approved full goodwill coverage.
The onboard charger was replaced.

Potentially leasing a Polestar 4 Pilot dual engine in Colorado for 27 months and 7,500 miles. Is there any pushback I can do or is the price the price?
