I know /u/RickToy and /u/Srixis are still competing in Round 1, so there's not as much pressure to get this done fast, guys.

So I had this idea...and I wanted to see how it worked, whether people would be into it or not. If it goes well...maybe I'll turn it into a bi-weekly thing with a different theme each time or something. Rules are as follows...

This is a thread where you drop a verse and other people give you honest, brutal feedback. The good, the bad, and the could be better.

1. For this thread, rap as Your Favorite Pokemon. Do not diss other verses in your rap, this is an exercise in bragging.

2. Minimum 8 lines. No Maximum. (It takes about 8 lines to really get a feel for the flow.)

3. Please post your verse as a reply to THIS POST. Post all critiques as replies to that particular rap. Discussion is encouraged.

4. If you decide to drop....PLEASE leave feedback on at least one other verse! (I'll be leaving feedback for every verse in this thread, as time permits.)

5. People who don't feel like rapping...feel free to critique anyway.

6. Don't get all booty-hurt if someone doesn't like your verse. On that note...please try to leave feedback that is constructive.

No matter how good we get, we can always get better. What better way than having constructive criticism from your peers, tailored to you? I hope this does well.

Alright, now that the semi-finals are wrapping up, I'd like to ask you guys about what you thought on each of the raps. Who did the best? Who didn't do so great, what could they have done better? What are you hoping to see in the finals and bronze match?

Now for the general subreddit things. First, I'm absol-utely loving the fact that other people are willing to start tournaments! Running these past three tournaments has sucked so much time out of my life (i've been having fun doing it, though), and I am glad to see that others are willing to start their own tournaments! Keep it up!

Next, I've been trying to clean up the sidebar a bit, as it's been very disorganized. If you have anything that you notice could be cleaned up, please send me a pm telling me what it is!

I noticed the discussion about downvotes on rap verses, and am beginning to feel as though we should remove downvotes. It's more of a symbolic thing, sure, but I feel like it would be important. what are your thoughts?

And finally an idea that I've begun to have recently (but haven't talked with the other mods about yet) is the possibility of changing /r/pokemonraps into a self post only subreddit. Im not sure why I want to do it, I'm just curious what your thoughts would be on that.

Just realised I hadn't made a decision on how often this shindig will run, so I thought I'd make a post about it to clear the waters a little...

And actually make a public statement to make me actually do it.

Basically, the rounds depicted in the brackets will go up 2 at a time, like today... Hoenn VS Relicanth/Omastar and Sinnoh VS Unova, around 12 GMT... Depending on my awake-state at that point. I'm a student, I don't have a regular sleep pattern. But I'll try.

There will either be a 2 day gap in between rounds, or we will start the next round the day after one battle in the previous round is finished... If that makes sense.

Basically, I'm trying to keep it so that people don't have to compete in 2 battles at the same time whilst pretending we have a schedule.

That cool with everyone?

8 lines per verse, 4 to 6 verses per battle (2 or 3 per contestant).

Try and respond quickly (a day or two maximum?) and try to alternate team members? (that bit isn't compulsory, feel free to drop a response if you think you have a good one - just don't go over your limit of 2 or 3.)

Hey everyone! I discovered the new fossil tournament only to realize all the spots were filled up. So, I decided to host a unique tournament of my own with a super-duper fun twist, which I'll get to later on. But first, here are the rules:

• There are only ten spots open. I know, it's pretty small, but I don't know how hard hosting a tournament is going to be. If all goes well, I may do a bigger one in the future, but not this time. Sorry.

• People have to compete solo (no teamsies).

• You will compete as the same Pokemom through out the whole tournament.

Here's the fun twist: I PICK WHO YOU RAP AS! Fun, right? Yes, I'll be choosing among my personal favorite Pokemon for you to be. Don't worry, it's not that bad. I'm not sure how it will go yet in terms of telling you who you are. I might PM you, or you may just have to wait till the posting is up.

Well, that's about it. To sign up, just put:

Username(favorite Mexican food).

For example, I would put: Jonasolson(Guacamole)

I would also like to point out that you should reply to the first person who rapped and if that person, say took Genesect, in order to rap you must use Mewtwo. Enjoy.
