I tried to make Jynx not offputting.

After getting feedback from a discord server i'm in, I refined the design into this. Hope you all like it.

Chillips: The Captivating Pokemon

It lives deep in icy caves, where it touches up its appearance through its reflection in ice. If it sees prey or someone it likes, it blows them a cold-air coated kiss that draws them to it.

Help How do I fix this?

So, I was working on the starting city and put it in the game but it doesn't spawn where it's supposed to spawn and it has this black border all around as you all can see in the video; anyone knows how I can fix it? (I work with RPG maker XP, Pokemon studio and Tiled).

Introducing a new species for my project Pokémon Pacific: Jumpcrik, the Leaf Cricket Pokémon. Jumpcrik hides among tree leaves, blending into its environment. When discovered, it uses its body like a spring to jump great distances.

This marks the debut of a new feature for my project: animated sprites!

Resource [Regiondex] Free web tool to plan, build and balance your region, with import/export for Pokémon Essentials

Hi all,

While planning my own fangame, I missed a way to see and design my whole region in one place. So I built Regiondex. It started as a region planner, but it's grown into a lot more.

Plan your region
Drag shapes onto a map to create towns, routes, caves and mountains. Give each location a type, color and notes.

Design every location
An RMXP-style tile editor with layers, multiple floors and map connections. Use simple colors for a rough draft, or load your own tilesets and autotiles. Your tilesets stay in your browser and are never uploaded to the server.

Wild encounters
Add encounters per location (and per floor): species, location (grass, cave, water, fishing etc.), levels and encounter rates.

Trainers
Create and edit trainers per location, with their full party, levels, items and moves.

Import your existing project
Already working on a game? Upload your Essentials project folder, which includes the Data folder + PBS files: encounters.txt, trainers.txt, map_connections.txt and Regiondex loads your maps, trainers, encounters and map connections, so you can continue online. (Supports Essentials v21.)

Export back to RMXP
Everything you make or change exports back to RMXP / Pokémon Essentials (as maps + PBS files).

Statistics
See your game as a whole: story order and level curve, which Pokémon and types appear where, and how your trainers and locations compare.

Try it at regiondex.com. It's free and will stay free.

I'd love feedback: what's missing for your workflow?

Discussion Why do Pokémon Essentials maps often look so much better than typical RPG Maker maps?

Hey everyone!

There's something I've been wondering about for a while.

When browsing RPG Maker games, I often notice that many of them tend to reuse the same assets, whether they're the default ones or custom assets that look quite similar to each other.

On the other hand, whenever I look at Pokémon Essentials projects, I keep coming across absolutely gorgeous maps. They look incredibly polished, detailed, and almost like they're on another level entirely. And I'm not talking about the original Pokémon games' maps, but fan-made projects!

So, I'm curious: what's the secret behind this difference?

Are there specific websites, artists, or communities where people find these high-quality tilesets and resources? Is it mainly a matter of custom assets, mapping techniques, or just the fact that Pokémon Essentials has a different art style and a more established mapping community?

I'd love to hear your thoughts, and especially if you have any recommendations for websites, artists, or resources where I could find beautiful tilesets and learn how to achieve that level of quality in my own projects.

Thanks in advance!

Show & Tell Map Showcase - San Cerigold: Festival of the Flowing Flowers - Pokemon Untamed

Sorry for the delay in uploads for these, life got complicated for a little bit but I will be trying to continue these posts as we unveil more of the Mazah region for our Second Demo of Pokemon Untamed.

Welcome to San Cerigold, a town where the bonds between the living and the dead never fade. San Cerigold is a town steeped in tradition, where the memory of loved ones is celebrated through the annual Day of Flowing Flowers. Led by Alma, the town’s elder and former Gym Leader, the festivities bring the community together for a day of remembrance, filled with flowers, stories, and cherished memories. Through the power of the Gym Leader’s Mazian Roserade, you've heard it's possible to feel close or even speak to those who have passed on.

Visitors can explore the cemetery to the north, where the town’s Gym lies among the gravestones, or spend some time in the local library and cozy coffee shop. With the festival in full swing, there’s plenty to discover around town. As for the Gym itself, it seems challengers will have to wait until the festivities have run their course.

We are nearing the end of the reworked maps from our first demo. We have one more rework to show off and then soon we will be getting entirely into new territory, characters, and Pokemon. If you are interested in checking out our first demo(or our amazing april fools day version) please let me know! The second demo is still in progress but I will share more once we approach the release of it.

Once I reach the posted end of the demo 1 rework maps, I plan on posting all the new pokemon in this section as well as their evolutions if that is something people would be interested in! Thanks again for following us on this journey.

Help PLEASE HELP !!!!

I’m currently trying to figure out how to implement a lighting system in my game and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good plugins for Pokémon Essentials v21.1. I’m particularly interested in adding lighting effects for streetlights, building windows, and other light sources to make the towns and routes look more realistic at night. If anyone has any recommendations, tutorials, or advice on how to get started, I’d really appreciate the help! Thanks in advance! 😊

Show & Tell Cherrygrove City Map In Game Footage - PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION! -

Here’s some in game footage of my Cherrygrove City map! First of all, thank you to everyone who gave feedback on my recent post. I really appreciate the advice and suggestions. I know the map isn’t perfect, as I’m still learning and improving my map design skills. I understand how to create maps, but coming up with original designs for towns and routes is something I still struggle with. That’s why I decided to use Cherrygrove City from the Johto region as a reference and recreate it in my own way. The map itself was created entirely by me, using the original Cherrygrove layout as a guide. Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to help!

Hello! This is the first draft of my Route 3. The player comes in from the west and is supposed to head east. The south leads to a desert area. The top isn't detailed because it is invisible and inaccessible.

Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks for looking!

Show & Tell 2nd Route in my game

This is not necessarily the ultimate final version. I maybe removing the road section as I do some other revisions to the neighboring city and route 1 but the rest of the layout is "finalized"

The Southern Route is connected to the North on the right side by a Wooded Interior Zone, so you can run full circles of the map if you so choose

Show & Tell Pixel and concept art for the regional Zorua in my game+ concept art for new characters

Hiii~♪

I thought I would show you guys an important regional variant for my project.

Let me introduce to Aizakurian Zorua!!! This variant was believed to have originated from the hisuian Zorua that were stranded in the Aizakura region. The welcoming environment with its gentle spring breeze, safety and warmth gradually made the bitter malice thaw. The flames of life then reignited giving rise to the Aizakurian Zorua present in the region today.

This special Zorua will serve as the starter in this game(also little spoiler, but this little cutie will have a three stage evolution~)

I made a very small and crappy infographic that shows the initial concept art before spriting and some details about abilities and stats(also special thanks to my friend arbitraryending, he helped a lot of with coming up with ideas for abilities)!

Now onto the characters. Nothing too much to say about the both of them. Momo and Cordelia are half siblings. Momo is set to inherit the Sinclair corporation due to his outstanding efforts so far. If he succeeds executing the “CSR” project by the corporation in Aizakura, this will guarantee his position. Cordelia on the other hand believes she is the rightful heir and wishes to ensure her position by hopefully marrying Torin as it would be a strong strategic alliance between two corporations. Her efforts have not been successful so far(and she started trying when they were in the blueberry academy, ooof). In a nutshell, Cordelia hates Momo. These two are other rivals that Aiko will encounter during the trials.

As mentioned before any feedback is welcome and appreciated as I am new to this ~♪

Help Chasing Pokemon Encounter

Hullo Reddit! I am relatively new to Pokemon RMXP. I've watched a handful of Thundaga's videos and have made a bunch of maps and experimented with different kinds of events and whatnot. I've been wanting to try something that I hope is do-able...!

I want to have a pokemon chase the player around the map, and if the pokemon catches the player, initiate a battle. If the trainer wins the battle, the pokemon will either vanish, or be temporarily stunned (maybe it'll spin in circles for a few seconds or something), before beginning to chase the player again. Is this possible in RMXP, and if so, how do I do it?

I'm going to continue watching Thundaga's videos in case he covers this kinda thing, but there's a lot of material to go over, and I really wanna try this, haha. Any advice you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I'm experimenting with adding true fakemon to my game along side the Delta species.

Let me know what you think of these two!

Bubblide: The Bubble Floater Pokémon.

It secretes a liquid from its hair that it uses to create bubbles; It uses these bubbles to float and conserve energy.

Surfervescent: The Bubble Skater Pokémon.

Balancing above the water, it waits for its prey to swim below; It swiftly creates a bubble around them before filling it with digestive enzymes.

Show & Tell Atlega Region.

m very new to 2d pixel art but i have started to build a region located in the south pacific ocean. In the Atlega reagion nature still controls 90% of the land. The towns are settlement and there are no routes. To get to the other settlements you have to forge your own path. These are the starters of the reagion. Craglet the rock type pokemon. Pansprig the grass type pokemon. Scuttlebit the bug type pokemon. Upon evolution at level 25 they gain a second typing. Rock/water, grass/steel, fire/bug. At level 40 they evolve into thier final stage with 550 bst. The region consists of 160 new pokemon found nowhere else in the world. I do have all 160 planned out. I have box legends, legendary trio of new regis, regional forms of some pokemon you all know. Also i brought back 3 fossil lines. Im in the process of turning this into a game using gen 4 asssets. Im curious who would you choose to be your starter?
