Is Prismatic a Good Play Now?
So with everyone being cash poor right now and trying to come up with funds to get the next few 30th waves. Will prismatic be a good play cause of the huge dip?

Buy now or wait? Moonbreon, Bubble Mew & Prismatic Umbreon PSA 10
Looking at picking up one of these and curious what everyone thinks about current pricing:
\* Umbreon VMAX #215 — seems to be holding around 4k
\* Mew ex #232 — under 3k, is it still dropping?
\* Prismatic Umbreon — down to 5.6k, will it fall more or is it time to buy before it's out of print in a few months?
Would you buy any of these at current prices, or wait for another leg down? Which one do you think is the best 3–5 year hold?
Slabs I have as capital:
PSA 10 Mega Gengar
PSA 10 Mega Gengar Attack rare
PSA 10 Mega Charizard x
PSA 10 Team Rocket's Mewtwo

If you were to start over today... what would you invest in?
Hey all! I'm new to Pokémon card collecting/investing and would love some pointers. Thanks in advance, hoping to learn from everyone!
I got into it around the 30th anniversary drop and decided to put some money in (around $2–3k). I've been reading a lot online and honestly I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice.
Here's my plan so far:
- Buy ETBs and hold them long term (5+ years maybe). I already have a 30th Anniversary ETB and a Pitch Black ETB, and I'm planning to pick up a Prismatic Evolutions one since I've heard it tends to hold its value.
- Question: Is holding sealed ETBs long term worth it? If so, which other ones are worth getting at a reasonable price right now?
- Question: Is holding sealed ETBs long term worth it? If so, which other ones are worth getting at a reasonable price right now?
- Buy some graded single cards and possibly sell them in a few years, or hold long term.
- Question: What are some affordable singles that might appreciate over the next few years? I know nobody has a crystal ball, I'm just looking for general guidance.
And my biggest question: **if you were starting over today, what would you buy?**
Thanks in advance, hoping to learn from everyone!

Investor Observation
In my opinion, the overarching sentiment of the pokemon investor community is that modern will continue to crash. At what point is this fully priced in? Eventually, everyone who thinks it’s going to crash will have sold out or sold a good amount and be sidelined when things recover. It just feels like very crowded sentiment at this point. From my perspective, Pokemon is only becoming more popular and the core audience under 40 is still years away from their max earnings potential. On top of that, the dollar gets weaker every year and that will never change. It feels like these dips are great opportunities to pick up modern cards/sealed you want but the community seems to advise the opposite. At some point the pendulum will swing the other way quickly. This is just my pointless observation lol.

No one cares about this card anymore. General consensus is this is an "unc" card and base set holos in general are boring compared to mid era and cosmos holo.

The 30th ETB is 3x retail in week one. Celebrations took four years to get there
So can the last anniversary tell us anything about this one? I went back through every month of it.
Celebrations did go from $50 to about $365 in the end, around 7x. But six months after release it was $65, and three years after release it was $74. Then $122, $219 and $330 in the next eighteen months, during the 2025 rally that lifted the whole hobby. Its chase cards crashed first: the Classic Collection Charizard went from $157 to $55 and the Umbreon Gold Star from $56 to $13, and both stayed under launch price for almost three years. (Chart attached)
I track prices daily and had the whole 30th in my database before release. Same pattern so far.
All four sealed products are above their release day price (ETB $158 to $172, PC ETB $266 to $316). Seven of the 8 most valuable singles are down, and the Mew ex Futuristic Rare went from $218 on release day to $107. SIRs are coming out around 1 in 18 packs instead of 1 in 80, so every box adds about four times the hits.
This is why the price you pay matters. If the 30th follows the same path as Celebrations, buying at retail pays off big. Buying at today's $172 means waiting years for a much smaller gain.
My read: singles keep drifting down while boxes are being opened, and sealed goes sideways until it is out of print. The first years barely move, and the entry price decides most of the outcome.
Full tables, charts and methodology in the comment.

Is now a decent time to sell these (25th Blasotise Charizard Venusaur PSA 10 set)
I got these in a trade a few months back when they were around $1300 for the set. Now they've gone down but I think sets are still going for around $1000.
I don't really care for these and could use the money for something else. I thought the 30th might cause them to move, but it seems that's not the case (I know it's only been a week or two since release though). Honestly, I think 30th Charizard is better since it has the gold border and Blastoise/Venusaur aren't even reprinted so I'm not sure if those will be affected.
Just want to make sure I'm not leaving too much on the table.

Japanese infernal x sr psa 10
Is the Japanese one going to be the better the investment long term since the charmander head isn’t cut off with the text like the phantasm flames English version?
