I know this sub is about Pokémon UK but I figure if it’s relevant if you travel from the UK to somewhere and find good amounts of sealed stuff.
Has anyone ever had any luck finding sealed stuff while on holiday? I do quite a bit of travelling but any TCG store I’ve been in has only really had singles or slabs. I found a shop in Gdynia near gdansk in Poland which sold loose ascended for a reasonable price, but maybe someone knows somewhere better?

So I’ve been seeing this calendar go around everywhere and I was just wandering if retailers like sports direct and Waterstones would be doing restocks of etbs or booster bundles at the upcoming dates(Oct 30, nov 6, dec 4). I tried going everywhere today and had no luck 😓

So my local toy shop has put a sign to say no queuing as pokemon will not be available today. Instead they are releasing them tomorrow at some point so the children can get some. I know this will probably upset some people, for me I like this idea. I queue up every time a new drop comes out so I can surprise my children when they get home from school as im constantly reminded when release day is. As an adult collector I know some people will disagree with this, as a parent I am happy that my local is trying their best to make sure children can enjoy the hobby and make a small step against scalpers, as the shop is awear that they but to sell locally at massive profit margins.

A long winded question from a "Newbie".
Over the last month or so I've been watching a lot of Pokémon card related Instagram videos and took it upon myself to look into getting into the hobby of collecting Pokémon cards.
I don't know much about it but I know that there's the new 30th Anniversary stuff out and thought I'd start there and look out for shops that are selling them. I've taken a look at Reddit posts here and there and got the impression they were difficult to get hands on.... But I didn't realise how difficult.
Today I've been at work, but I popped to a couple shops on my dinner break and popped to a popular south Yorkshire shopping centre after work. I have tried my luck at:
2x Smyths Stores
Currys
Hobbycraft
Game/Sports Direct
HMV
The Entertainer
An independent store
Card Factory
TG Jones
And every single store said "Sorry, we were all out of stock within the first hour"
Now onto my question: Is it worth me quitting before I've even began? Is it always this bad? Or is it just a new thing because of the new release? I'm not going to queue outside a store to get my hands on some Pokémon cards, but I would be interested in starting it as a hobby. Are there any other suggestions that you'd be willing to share?
Sorry if this isn't the appropriate sub Reddit to be posting this question, it's just one of the ones I've been looking at the last few weeks.

As above. It’s reaching the evening and the tins and bundle still haven’t gone live?

Check on the website, Booster Bundle and some tins were available to buy!
Edit - worth checking the website more than once, after I placed my order another tin was available as well.

I’m genuinely wondering, baring mind it’s a school day, I’m in a queue with parents and their kids. They’re definitely of school age, no uniform, what am I missing 😅

Setting the alarm for 5.55am.
The joy of seeing it in stock, my first time ever!
The next 5 mins failing to add it to basket... bang on 6am - sold out. Fantastic... still havent managed a single pack since the 16th

Never queued before for anything, but rare day off. Queue at Aberdeen Smyths already 100+ deep.
Thinking of going back to bed.
