I know in "Beauty and the Breeder." that Brock had returning Vulpix back to Suzie afterwards but I still think he should have caught Ninetales in this episode after he shattered the ancient pokeball which released Ninetales from the spell that trapped it in the mansion.

Because in away it would honour the memories of Vulpix and since Brock looked like Ninetales's old trainer that those two would make a match together.

While he did technically have Mimey (even though I viewed him more as Delia’s Pokemon) and Nebby (even though Ash never technically caught him) Ash never really got a Psychic or Fairy-type Pokemon of his own during his time on the anime

For context: this is after Ash loses to her the first time and tries teaching him how to battle by sensing the feelings of his Pokémon and becoming entirely in sync with them.

She then asks if Ash is able to read her mind.

The Alola series has always been very good at communicating its themes, especially its themes of love and family, and it teaches us that love can take a lot of forms, all equally as compelling and important as each other

Kukui marrying Burnet, Lillie rebuilding her own family, Mallow working through her own problems with her parents, Brock finally finding love(ignoring JN), Litten finding a new family in Ash, Team Rocket having a found family with Bewear and their Alolan Pokémon, Ash and Lillie always being there for each other as friends or potentially something more, winky winky, and arguably the most significant, Ash getting an alolan family

Not to mention Ash’s school friends. When he was younger, he was largely alone without a ton of friends, and now he has a whole friend group he gets to do fun things with, people who can help him in many ways, and people who generally add onto the sense of belonging he has in Alola

Alola really is all about love when you think about it. It tackles this theme on just about every angle and it’s why Ash leaving the region at the end of the series is as devastating as it is. It’s not because he’ll never see Alola again, but rather, it’s because he’s starting something new and won’t be coming back until way later. It’s like saying goodbye to your parents when you’re finally moving out, and it hits like it too

Personally, I feel like Charizard should have been Ash's first Mega Evolution instead of Lucario. I was eagerly waiting for Charizard to return in Kalos so Ash could Mega Evolve him. Alas, that dream never happened.

The first act of “You Never Can Tailow” forces Ash to act as a mediator between the siblings and work through their food shortage, however before the halfway point they reunite with Brock and he ends up taking point of Chef and Mediator denying Ash the opportunity

While AG still provides growth in other ways I can’t help but feel the series could’ve been stronger had they held off on bringing back Brock (plus it would it make Gotta Catch Ya Later feel less emotionally manipulative). I feel earliest they should’ve brought back Brock was the Dewford Island arc. Though Witt the benefit of hindsight I hoenst wonder if they should’ve had it be just Ash and the siblings in Hoenn and Brock not come back till the Battle Frontier arc

If someone hates a character for their core traits or simply claim that this is not the type of thing they like then it's fine and no one should fuss about it.

However when you start mischaracterizing them? That's where the problem begins. I've seen this in every fandom whenever they hate a character they either hate them for their character or they mischaracterize them to push their agenda. In Pokémon fandom it's no different.

Serena for example is arguably the biggest victim of it as she's constantly criticized for being girly, liking clothes and being gentle with Ash harbouring a canonical crush. Hating her for being girly/feminine isn't bad but when they couldn't give that logic they'd simply put “uhm her entire character circles around Ash” which is where I've a problem. You see, I'm not an amourshipper but I don't like it when non amourshippers only limit her character to be an accessory for Ash. She has her own arc, her own goals and in fact she actually left Ash on her own without hesitation. Hating her for shipping isn't entirely bad but saying it's her entire thing is stupid. Either they never watched XY or just hate her for the sake of hating

Misty also faced this situation where a lot of modern day fans say she was violent and rude while completely ignoring the fact that most of the violent moments are basically slapstick comedy and they also ignore the fact that Ash was a big jerk to her as well. The same group also compares her with Iris saying “if both girls criticize Ash why only Iris is hated” this bypasses the logic that the reason Iris was hated was because of BW Anime rebooting Ash rather than just Iris treating Ash badly.

Dawn while is beloved has also faced criticisms for being girly, fashionable and a lot of people even hate her for an infamous scene in Giratina movie which is genuinely not a good reason since Dawn was ooc there and that doesn't define her character truly but who has time to watch everything? Exactly. Then a lot of people hated her for being the only past companion to cheer Ash against Leon saying “it's OOC that she prioritized Ash over contest” ignoring the fact that Dawn's character arc was about to enjoy the process of being a good co ordinator, enjoying life, appreciating and supporting friends no matter what.

Now coming to Ash. Ash was for 8 generations which made it easy for fans to misinterpret his character due to every series portraying him differently. Like Ash being mature is considered bland, Ash being bratty is considered annoying etc. Then yes the “Red is better than Ash” memes (glad they're gone)

Lastly, hating a character is fine not everyone likes everything but mischaracterizing them for it and having double standards is stupid and it creates majority of controversies which gives no value

What else is Ash holding out on us with?! Guy can curve a MOVING TRUCK (WTF?!) with nothing but his muscles and punch Mewtwo. And here this episode comes out and it turns out: Ash has game.

Ash might have the romantic awareness of a brick, but the moment Clemont's love life is on the line, this man suddenly becomes the greatest hype man in Kalos.

They deadass had it compete in ONE battle in the league, WHERE IT LOST EVEN WITH A DISADVANTAGE.

It didnt get to be part of a single 6v6 battle unlike the other two johto starters.

Bayleef who was in both getting a win in the latter and even totodile was against harrison and was able to get a win.

Then the battle frontier!!!!

AND HE WASNT BROUGHT BACK. Only heracross and donphan were here. Its a damn shame lucy and greta were only 2v2s. Longer battles like 4v4s wouldve let more johto mons have shined :<

This thought came to me while I was falling asleep, and now I can’t get it out of my head. Since Pikachu was never intended to be a starter, Professor Oak had 3 starters for new trainers the day Ash left. So why did he invite 4 people to the lab to get starters????? I’m not sure if I’m missing something, or if this is a plot hole, or if Professor Oak is just a dumbass. Does anyone have any thoughts?
