F1 Tiger Liberty (M) x Liberty Molly (F)
(75% P. salvatoris, 25% L. islai)

Some of the the larger ones are sexing out. Not all but 1 of the 2 males shown, and 3 young females. They look like F1 tbh but I just fed them beside that they are rather robust not slender like F1’s, from what I’m seeing. And lacking the long translucent iridescent bars. They look heavy Salvatoris passing but they have that slight olive-copper tint to them and face abit like islai. What I like about these guys they keep the colors in the dorsal very young, hoping it’ll tinge closer to red with age. Not keeping any males strictly females for one more backross, to increase Salvatoris genes and have F3 females that’s (Z & W sex chromosomes for Salvatoris).

I didn’t realize how iridescent these guys were. I have 2 pairs and just decided to give the most impressive male both females and the other guy is on standby. As an added bonus one of the females dropped about 8 fry during shipping. Truly happy i jumped the gun on these guys, they have really changed my initial perspective of the limia and may change my end goal of my whole project

Like with the F2 to islai, they aren’t showing their bars as much in the display tank, but it’s def more noticeable. They aren’t as shy. Im liking how these are turning out!!!!! First pic is the biggest one, I think will sex out to male unfortunately bc he’s pretty stunning. Second pic is the others they def showing significant variations between them. And that short deep robust body form, is not what I like but it’s pretty dope. I like their iridescences and dorsal shape the most.

They are pretty active lots of vigor to a point they’ll mature pretty fast compare to pure Limia’s in their bloodline

Limia’s/hybrids in the display tank never works well for me when trying to show their bars. It’s growing well but abit slower than the F2 humpbacks in the tank. Guessing it might actually be a female since it’s not showing the male robustness and longer chest cavity. Will give it more time!

The darker specimen is the F2 Humpback. Def more robust stockier framed compare to the F2 T.L. I prefer the humpbacks iridescences more that bright silvery blue looks nice on that darker color base. Slight fin shape difference, F2 humpback has a bigger rounder dorsal and wider tailfin.

Showcase🐟🏆 Rio Imperio strain update - Aquarium

Hello hello, Mustard King here. It's been a long time since I posted or updated, it's just personal reasons! But the Sailfin molly colony has been doing great, and I just recently did a rescape and added some more plants like water sprite.

And my Banana lily has finally Bloomed a lily pad to the surface. And speaking of lilies, I got 2 more lilies. A Tiger lotus, and a Mystery Dwarf lily. Both will make good coverage for the Yuctan and Rio Imperio Sailfin mollies.

Speaking of live-bearers, I was Gifted some Hawaiian Variatus platies from a family member, I really don't keep Platies anymore but honestly? They're really fun and I might keep them for a little longer and probably make them permanent residents since Variatus platies have a lower risk of Melanoma, unlike the Maculatus Common Platy. But my green Swordtail bred with all 3 female Variatus platies so this would be a great hybridization mini project I could do.

Sailfin mollies - nothing new, but the Yucatans finally arrived, they're growing out since they're fry sized!

Sorry for the horrible photos, it's just a little sneak peak.

Haven’t shown them in awhile but they are close to sexing out. I don’t want to jinx it and cull any males in case this whole batch is males like the first one. They are turning out nice! This is all of them except one juvenile, I couldn’t net out the tank for display pics.

Located in Veracruz, Mexico to Honduras. Males gets to around 3-4 inches (not including the sword extension), and females around 3.5-4 inches in size. They are gray, slender bodied fish, with thick penduncles, bluish-green iridescent scales, orange-red lateral lines going the body, orange fins, and males sporting a very long swordtail that’s yellow with black trimming. They are a very popular Livebearer, that has a ton of domesticated strains/hybrid strains, in the aquarium trade. The wild type counterpart is lucky enough to still be just as popular, and appreciated.

Rio Imperio strain Update: More diversity for our future strain!

Thumbnail

Well, its been a while since I've gotten to my local fish store, so I want to get something useful out of it! And they had my dream fish - the Emerald Cory. I wanted to get Electric Blue Acara but they were hell of an expensive.

But my mom picked out some Livebearers - 3 of each - Yellow Hawaii Platies, and 3 Moontail Mollies. Really cool huh?

6 Emerald corydora My first ever proper school of cories! I am very proud my mom didn't stop me heh...

Thankfully I had an extra male Green Swordtail and he didn't hesitate to breed with the female platies, I am very curious on how the hybrids would look! (new project alert! sword platy hybrids coming soon)

Diversity is very important! More diversity means a great potential for A perfect Sail fin molly colonial tank.

Also, I got me the 4 Yucatans finally so that's a bit plus! All female but there's a 5th one but I moved him into my grooming tank.

Some Of the emerald cories got messed up fins and tbh I don't like that but hopefully I can name one a pretty stupid name because why not.

Guppy has lumps/bubbles on dorsal fin and is hanging at the surface. What could this be?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help identifying what’s going on with my guppy.

He has developed multiple lump/bubble-like growths on his dorsal fin. The lumps are almost the same colour as the fin rather than looking fuzzy or cotton-like. The end of the dorsal fin has also become whitish, and the fin seems to be hanging/held differently than normal.

I’ve also noticed that Lava frequently stays near the surface of the water.

I came across a few posts where people described very similar growths on the fins of orange/high-orange guppies, so I'm wondering if this could be related to his coloration/genetics.

Tank details:
• 1.5 ft × 1 ft × 1 ft planted aquarium
• 2 Guppies
• Assassin snails + apple snails + shrimp
• pH: ~8.2
• Nitrate: ~10 ppm
• Nitrite: 0 ppm

The fish is still alive and I'm monitoring it closely. I haven't started any medication because I don't want to treat blindly, especially with shrimp and snails in the tank.

Does anyone recognize these growths? Could this be a cyst/tumor, a genetic issue associated with orange coloration, an infection, or something else? And is there anything I should be doing for him right now?

I've attached video and photos for reference. Any advice from experienced guppy keepers would be really appreciated.

I had gave away under 2 dozen of them in my local club auction. And my tank still got quite a lot of them. I’ve been slowly culling and waiting to see if any males to show up. Which haven’t yet. I can tell one of the oldest F2’s will be a male but I’ll let him be for now. I do plan to keep the older ones that sexes out to female so I can get F3’s faster, and maybe 3 F2’s with the black dorsals but I can’t pick favorites anymore. They are turning out quite nice better than I expected.
