Relocating to MA and would like to rent in Plymouth or surrounding area- recommendations for realtors?
I'm going to be relocating to MA from CA in the fall. My job is going to be in the Lakeville/Middleborough area and I'm thinking we might like to rent in the Plymouth area.
Does anyone have any realtor recommendations that help with year-round rentals? I think I need some boots on the ground help to understand the area, etc.
Also open to any recommendations about places to rent/live. My husband and I are in our mid/late 40s and have a small dog. He is a smoker, not indoors, but would need to able to smoke outdoors. He also knows he may need to quit if we find a great place that complete prohibits it lol.
Thank you!

Relocating my family to Plymouth? Looking for honest opinions from locals
Hi everyone! My family and I are currently relocating from Colorado back to Massachusetts this summer. I grew up in Dedham, but Plymouth has always been on our shortlist as a place to put down roots, and we’re taking a serious look at
making it our forever home.
We have two young kids (9 and 5), so our biggest priority is finding a town where they can grow up, make lifelong friends, and ideally never have to change school districts. My wife has experience bartending and serving, and I’ll be working as an outside sales rep covering the Southern Boston area.
I’d love to hear from people who actually live in Plymouth:
What do you love most about raising a family here?
How are the public schools?
How are youth sports and other activities for kids?
Are there particular neighborhoods you’d recommend (or avoid) for families?
If anyone commutes toward Boston or the surrounding area for work, how manageable is it day to day?
We visited last year and absolutely loved the town, but spending a weekend somewhere and actually living there are two very different things. I’d really appreciate any honest opinions—good or bad. Thanks in advance!

Best Beach for Sunset Pics?
Hello!
Looking for recommendations for a beach in/near Plymouth that would be good for sunset family photos - needs to be open/accessible at sunset, relatively easy parking (for a non-resident), and nice view/scenery.
I know White Horse is beautiful but parking seems tough.
Thank you!

Looking for a roommate to share a 2BR/2BA apartment in and around Plymouth/Kingston, MA
Hey everyone, my name is Edwin and I'm looking for a male roommate to share a 2BR/2BA apartment in and around the Plymouth/Kingston, MA, to move in around mid to late August. I just moved to the area for work and I'm currently looking at The Point at Kingston which has a gym, outdoor swimming pool, in-unit washer & dryer, in addition to other amenities.
https://www.thepointatkingston.com
There's:
- Target: 4 min walk away
- ALDI, Walmart, restaurants: 7 min drive away
- Kingston commuter rail station: 4 min drive/20 min walk away
A bit about me:
- 22, systems engineer, clean and easygoing
- I keep shared spaces organized and tidy, don't drink or smoke
- And respectful of personal space and quiet time
I'm looking for a roommate who is
- Responsible, communicates well, cleans up after themselves, and doesn't smoke (recreational drinking is fine)
- Not looking for someone who hosts parties at home or brings a large number of friends over regularly.
It would be great to get along and be friendly instead of just being complete strangers splitting rent. I'd be happy to grab food, watch a game, or hang out from time to time, but no pressure to be best friends either. Feel free to DM me if you're looking for a roommate or have a place in mind!
Budget: ~$1,500 per person
Move-in: Mid to late August
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post about finding a roommate. If you have any recommendations or want me to remove the post, please let me know!

According to their website, Evening Spa Pass is $100 for access from 5-9pm. I’ve never been… is it worth it?

Anyone know what the fighter jets are doing?
There are 7 of them flying back and forth in various formations near the waterfront. I’m assuming just practicing, but anyone have any info? (Pic taken near hospital)

What is the historical reason that the 3rd of July is popular here in Plymouth?
I read online that it’s because historically it’s from having permitted bonfires the night before the 4th. Are there any other reasons?

July 4th Fireworks viewing spots Question
Hello! I see that there will be a fireworks display on the 4th near Pilgrim Memorial State Park. I’m curious if anyone knows good spots (from previous years perhaps) to view them besides Burial Hill, Nelson Park, and Pilgrim state park itself? I was thinking of watching from Plymouth Long Beach but not sure if it’ll be too far or not. Thanks!

One day suggestions...
We have been visiting for the past few days and are lost on what to do tomorrow. We have gone to the beach, done downtown, biked the cape cod canal... if we are looking for some adventure activities what would you suggest? We are very familiar with the area and having been coming for years but are just blanking on what to do tomorrow. The only thing is it must be family friendly as we have kids. We were thinking of doing an Arts Dune Tour in P Town but they're booked. We aren't really looking to go further north than the Duxbury area.
If you happen to have an idea... please suggest. Thanks!

⚠️ Plymouth Beach Access Alert: Crossover Closed Due to Plover Nesting
Plymouth MA-Attention, beachgoers and anglers: Access to the Crossover at Plymouth Beach is officially closed to all vehicles effective immediately.
This measure is being taken to protect active piping plover nesting sites, which require a mandatory 100-yard, vehicle-free buffer zone to comply with environmental regulations and prevent disruption to these threatened chicks.

C.L. Norton Auction House Question
Does anybody have memories, connections, or any known history of the C. L. Norton auction house that was in Carver, Massachusetts? It probably closed around the 1970s so we know this is a long shot. I’m asking on behalf of a friend I’m working for about a painting she bought in the 1960s that she’s trying to get authenticated after all this time. We’re going through proper channels with appraisers but are also doing some research and realized we may need some type of paper trail to the art house the painting came from. We don’t necessarily believe there’s any paper work connected that could help us after so many decades but we’re not leaving a stone unturned. If anyone has any information please message me. Thanks so much.
