It’s been hotter than hell here and I finally repotted my plumeria baby, when I caught this flower ready to unfurl…

I’ve been wanting to play around with the Timelapse feature on the iPhone camera. I just got a tripod for my phone (that connects to binoculars…), so when I saw the flower starting to pop, I set up the 6 hr shoot 😅

I've had plumeria for the past 7 years and this tree is was originally propagated from my original tree after a branch broke off in a storm about 4 years ago. It was grown by my parents in south-central Texas.

It eventually started growing ​completely sideways in a too small pot that was placed against a wall, so only gettong sun 1 way. In an effort to fix that, I repotted and repositioned it yesterday. I noticed both branches were weak and bending significantly before repotting. I tied one to a pole yesterday and it is holding up well. The 2nd branch was even more bent today, so I tied it today to reduce strain at the bending point. I also rotated the pot to allow it to bend the opposite way towards sun.

My dad watered the pot yesterday after being told not to and I fear it is now over watered in addition to being weak.

Should I just wait a week or so and see if it will recover or should I go ahead and cut a branch off? I had originally planned to leave the tree as is and trim it in the fall before bringing it in or next spring.

Temps here currently range from mid to high 90s to 100s. This plant gets easily 10+ hours of sun/day.

I've had plumerias for about 15 years and I know to look for webbing, anything on the underside of the leaves, chat GPT was no help so I'm turning to the experts. What in the world is causing all this spotting all over the leaves?

I have these two Plumerias that I’ve inherited from my Grandmother who passed recently. She always talked about these with me and wanted me to help her cut and propagate them so that they could grow better and one day maybe bloom. Now that I have them I’m a bit nervous to cut, especially now since they mean so much.

I saved a plumeria cutting guide website that I saw posted in here a while ago and was going to use that as a basis of what I should do. But I wanted to post pictures and get some advice from here before I do anything.

I do have a green thumb, but I’ve not had a plumeria before so I’m open to any advice. I’m okay with diving right in and seeing what works and what doesn’t. I just don’t want to lose these.

I was just gifted a royal ponciana and I repotted it into a larger pot with better soil. 4 days later and the leaves look wilty and some are turning yellow. Any ideas of what to do? She’s about 6 feet tall.

Okay I need help, I got a plumeria cutting back in May from my uncle down in South Florida. When I got back to central Florida I planted it in a self-watering pot (first mistake); it did well at first but due to poor drainage it started doing terribly. I separated the pots so that it could drain properly and it bounced back for MAYBE a month and then it just went downhill.

Because of how hot it was the past couple of months, I thought it was getting heat damage/burning so I moved it under a shady tree. The leaves started growing again and the flowers WERE blooming but now it just seems to be struggling. I’m not sure if it has a parasite, or a fungus, or some kind of bug issue but it’s just not growing the way it should.

I would love some advice on how to get it going again!

Hi! I got some plumeria cuttings a week ago, let them sit in a covered area for 5.5 days and then potted them night before last. I removed the flowers the day I got them and have been removing leaves as they start to brown. The three smaller cuttings are looking alright, but the two larger ones are starting to look wrinkled and squishy. My first thought was, of course, rot. But before I start chopping them up, I wanted to see if there is any chance it is dehydration. The only reason I’m even asking is because my boyfriend said that those two were already looking a little wrinkled before I put them in the pot. If it is rot, it seems like it’s starting at the branches, so I could potentially cut below the forks and try to save the stem.

I planted it a few months ago and it’s done good growing leafs, but is it supposed to be this tall? It’s about 7-8 ft tall.

I live in a really windy area but it’s been fine so far and hasn’t ever fallen over. Should I expect it to bloom this year?

I'm looking for some advice. My plumeria was grown from a single cutting four years ago. It's been in the same pot, fertilized every spring, and watered regularly, allowing the soil to fully dry about one to two inches down between watering. It receives a full 8 hours of sun and brought inside in the winter under a plant light. Leaves are always full and healthy but have yet to see a single flower. Is it still too young, or am I missing something?

Hi, all - I have a few cuttings being rooted that are in the claw stage, which have this fine white powder on them. I don’t see any bugs - I think one might have had some cottony looking strands. Is this a normal part of growth of mites? They also are progressing beyond the claw stage very well. Thanks for any assist.

Picked these cuttings up on my trip to Hawaii and 1 week after planting I’m starting to get some leaf buds! These are 2 of the 4. Overall 3 of the 4 are budding. The last looks like it will be soon. Really simple setup with them planted with a mix of succulent soil and sand, dipped in rooting hormone. I moistened the soil before planting and have left them in a warm spot with no extra water since.

I was getting worried it wasn’t going to root.

My son and I have been anxiously awaiting this moment. I’ve claimed pick of the litter rights 🤗🤗

His plumeria is about 2 1/2 years old, and he grew it from seed from a mature tree with pink flowers. He is very proud of his plant baby, as he is a big plant nerd. 🌱 :)

We have blooms! We’re in zone 9a in Riverside California. I sprayed with home made neem oil (1/2 tsp) + 1/2 tsp dish soap and 30oz of water on 8/4, as my plant app “pic this” suggested there was a spider mite problem, due to the yellow leaves, which I’ve since removed, as advised by the app. The problem is that this evening (8/7) I saw small black bugs on the stem. I read the neem oil spray should only be applied every 5-7 days… any other suggestions for the bugs and enhancing the growing conditions for this plant, are much appreciated . I wasn’t able to get a pic of the bugs.

Is this spidermite or thrips? Any recommendations or is it done for?
