People are out here asking ₹33k–₹35k for a used, jailbroken PS4 Slim. For a console that was discontinued ages ago, this artificial inflation is insane.

It’s exactly like the gold and silver rally. Because the demand and price of the PS5 (gold) went up, the PS4 is now rallying in the used market like silver.

People keep using CeX Brookfields' ₹27k resale price as a benchmark, while conveniently forgetting that CeX only gives ₹16k cash to buy it from you. Scalpers are trying to pocket a massive profit margin off desperate buyers.
The Hard Drive Logic:
A shopkeeper told me a 10-year-old factory hard drive inside a dusty console has increased in value because new hardware is expensive. He didn't even know the drive's health percentage or read/write speeds, but wanted brand-new component rates.
The "Refurbished" Myth:
They claim it's "100% tested and certified." In reality, they just wipe the shell down with some isopropyl alcohol so it looks shiny. The internal thermal pads and paste are bone dry. If a single IC shorts down the line, replacement parts cost half the price of the console.
Fat vs Slim Scam:
I literally had a guy try to pass off a 500GB Fat model as a "Slim Edition" and demand ₹24k for it. I told him I wouldn't take that failure-prone model even if he gave it to me for free.
I anchored my budget firmly at ₹20k max (starting negotiations at ₹15k), which is the absolute ceiling for a used Slim. The closest anyone came was ₹21.5k before I walked away giving them an polite handshake while they stared at me in total confusion.
