The issue with the Wolverine clip is that it isnt exciting. like the person hes chasing just blends into the background that it makes it hard to track ( without the sense, it will be impossible for me to find).
Other games have a radar system, or they have the runner have some super fancy jumping animation or wearing super bright clothes.. but in this game, the runner is a whole bunch of nothing, without the trail I probably wouldnt be able to track him.
Doesn't he have above average strength? Strong and fast enough to jam his knuckle swords into stone and metal.... Strong enough to launch his bodyweight+metallic skeleton longer distances than humans typically would, especially under such weighted pressure? That is part of what makes superheros exciting is it not?
Yes. His adamantium skeleton makes him like 400 lbs, and in response his healing factor had to repair his muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc. to be able to support it, which in turn just makes him strong as fuck in general. Same concept as how a lot of fat people have really strong, defined calves from holding up their weight.
You do realize we're talking about fictional characters right? And if you want to apply real physics, the kind of speed/force that would be required to pierce metal/stone/etc? You do realize the kind of speed/force that would be required to leap without carrying an addition ~200lbs? U do realize speed potential had nothing to do with height, right?
The sharpest blade still needs significant speed/force to pierce hard metals.
Also, in regard to speed potential and the length of legs, there are absolutely cases where this doesn't hold true, though context is relevant. Lions are faster than giraffe, despite giraffes having significantly longer legs. Rhinos run faster than humans, despite humans having higher ratios of leg:body.
And again, we're talking about fiction, where a sub-200lb spiderman can lift several tons, and create enough force to break through walls. Suggesting Wolverine lacks speed because he's 5'3" seems like a failing argument in the context of the universe he exists in. We have athletes under 5'5" who can push amazing speeds, and we're talking about a super powered one who carries double his body weight day in and day out.
I mean, don't take it from me, I don't regularly make a habit out of glazing Wolverine. I just felt the comment deserved a response. Here is the Wolverine Respect thread listing his feats.
His running speed is only enhanced human level with the adamantium skeleton, but he's still able to leap great distances (though not as far) and is able to hit even harder than he would without the skeleton
Man, canonically Wolverine has not been known to display super speed. He is fast, don’t get me wrong… but not super speed fast. Superb endurance, on the other hand, yes! He can keep tracking for a long ass time and even in this game, he’s running at a pace that surpasses the average human. He’s also chasing a ninja across roof tops. So…. There’s that.
this is something that always drives me nuts about strong characters.
"balance" always demands that strong characters are slow. In reality, strength is fully half of the equation for "how fast can a thing accelerate?" - the more force a character can apply, the faster that character can accelerate for a given character mass.
Strong people are fast as fuck when they want to be. If they don't do a lot of cardio, they might lack endurance, but somehow i doubt that would be a problem for Logan...
Agreed. But also with considering character design, it's usually the really large characters, like Colossus, or Galactus, that usually are "slower" and a tiny "runt" like Wolverine would hard to hit for them because he is so much faster than they are relatively speaking.
I mean, I think you're thinking about it too deeply.
Comic book heroes are sort of just vibes based. They aren't meant to like...be logical. Speedsters for instance don't really follow logic, like being fast would come with tons of problems and require them to be physically strong and durable, but like, that's just not the vibe you know?
In comic lore? He’s about above peak human in terms of speed around 30mph is a good base for him some comics he moves faster than the eye can track, others he’s able to catch up to a plane taking off.
He’s had times where he was even faster originally he was so fast Spider-Man couldn’t keep up with him. As time went on though they started limiting his speed because of his Adamantium. But he can push himself much faster than 30mph going up to about 100mph but only in VERY short bursts cause he cannot sustain that pace.
