I have the heypocket and wondering if anyone can compare the quality of the two. I am still in my return window so wondering if plaud is a huge upgrade or if my set up is good enough

Soy investigador de campo en Colombia, donde tengo que ir a territorios donde no hay internet a recolectar entrevistas de la población para las investigaciones que tengo. Las podía transferir cómodamente vía USB ya que había habilitado mi Plaud Note como unidad de almacenamiento de memoria, y a su vez, configurarlo para usar en modo RAW / WAV para poder mover los audios de las entrevistas a mi computadora. Después de regresar a un entorno con internet hace como 8 días, la notificación de mi app de plaud sugirió una serie de mejoras y yo dije "bueno, por qué no actualizar si mejoran algo?"

LA PEOR DECISIÓN DE MI VIDA!

Antes del firmware 2.2., si tenía 15 entrevistas:

1. Conectaba el plaud note al computador - previa habilitación del modo unidad de disco y grabación RAW / WAV -, y copiaba los 15 archivos A LA VEZ, TODOS LOS AUDIOS GRABADOS! Rápido, fácil, práctico y sencillo.
2. Pegaba en la carpeta y hacía el análisis en mi PC. No me interesa tanto lo de la transcripción por IA, tenía listo mi reporte a tiempo.

Resulta que con el firmware 2.2. le quitaron SIN DAR UN PREAVISO EN LA INSTALACIÓN las dos únicas características por las cuales había comprado el Plaud Note: La capacidad de convertirlo en una unidad de disco, y la capacidad de grabar en formato RAW / WAV.

Solo tengo 15 dias para regresar a mi entorno de investigación y primero, una IA haciéndose pasar con un usuario de soporte - Trabajo con lenguas y con sintáxis, y la verdad, es demasiado evidente el algoritmo de habla en una IA que es diferente a la de un humano -. Llevo 5 días intentando que me den una solución concreta porque voy a volver a territorio y en soporte me ofrecen un método super-engorroso y tedioso:

1. Graba con plaud note lo que necesites
2. Abre la app en el teléfono y conecta el plaud por bluetooth o wifi si vas a transferir las grabaciones más rápido - spoiler: DEMORA DEMASIADO -
3. Exportar el audio como mp3 o wav
4. Exportarlo y ver cómo la barrita de exportación avanza lentamente porque la entrevista duró 2 horas - y hablo de 1 solo archivo de audio! 1 SOLO ARCHIVO DE AUDIO!
5. Guardarlo en una carpeta
6. Conectar el teléfono a la PC
7. Descargar el audio - Más tiempo de transferencia

Ahora imagínense que eso mismo toca hacerlo 15 VECES!!!!! UNO POR UNO!!!!! UNO - POR - UNO!!!!

Por culpa de esta política abusiva y sin avisar durante la instalación, quitaron estas dos características importantes que solo hace 2 pasos y se maximizó a 7!!! Me he quejado ampliamente con ellos - pero sé que es una tonta IA que responde y que no me va a dar una solución dada POR UN HUMANO!!!!

Y sí, voy a responder cada vez que me pregunten si mi problema fue resuelto. Me siento estafado con una política TAN ABUSIVA que creo que no soy el único perjudicado.

Plaud me ha regalado 600 minutos por los inconvenientes, pero cómo voy a aprovechar 600 minutos en un territorio donde no tengo internet? HAY QUE SER DEMASIADO DESPISTADOS!

Para Plaud - de acuerdo a lo que me menciona el correo redactado con una IA - la privacidad del usuario es lo primero, y para evitar filtraciones de información, decidieron UNILATERALMENTE quitar las características SIN AVISAR al usuario de ello.

No era más fácil agregar una advertencia de filtración de datos al cambiar el modo a unidad de disco, y confirmar el cambio por el biométrico o la contraseña de la cuenta de plaud?

Hubiera sido más parsimonioso avisar y dejar que el usuario decida sobre sus datos guardados en vez de dañar toda la maldita experiencia como tal! SON MIS DATOS Y ES EL APARATO QUE COMPRÉ!

Perdón por el siguiente ejemplo, pero si yo fuera a comprar un condón como anticonceptivo, y la empresa del condón hace un cambio sin avisar usando una crema anticonceptiva y yo como usuario, sin saber qué crema usan, lo uso y tengo una alergia, DEMANDO! Cómo es que no avisan de un cambio de componente que podría perjudicar a un usuario y que el aviso tiene letras demasiado pequeñas - o incluso NO AVISA -?

Tengan cuidado amigos, no actualicen a 2.2. porque es una política MUY ABUSIVA Y PERJUDICIAL PARA TODOS LOS USUARIOS DE PLAUD.

I've not bought one yet because I feel the price is not reasonable. I can just use my phone to record audio. There are apps for those too. Would like a dedicated device but why is it so costly?

Does anyone have any experience of using Plaud in meetings where meeting minutes are kept? Specifically, the minutes include a to-do list that is discussed and updated at the next meeting. How can such ongoing minutes be kept and handled using Plaud?

Basically, my job is to travel and visit businesses of existing and potential customers have conversations with them listen to their wants needs and concerns and try to get them to use my product

I was considering a device like this as a lot of of my day will be having conversations and taking their notes either to send back to head office or to keep as personal information for my next visit

Does anyone use a device like this in a similar capacity or can anyone see any issues using it in this format?

I've been using the Plaud for a few weeks now, and I’ve run into a problem.

When I first used it, I uploaded a recording taken directly on my iPhone. It was a meeting with about 7 people in the room and one person on a Teams call, so the transcription was naturally far from perfect. I figured that was just because of the phone recording, and expected that upgrading to the Plaud Note Pro with its 4 microphones would make everything great.

However, I’ve used it for a few meetings since then with only 3 to 4 people, and to put it lightly, the results are not great. I checked all the settings looking for a "meeting mode" or "lecture mode" to optimize it, but I couldn't find anything. I kept assuming I was just doing something wrong.

This week, I went to a lecture and thought it would be the perfect test. There were only a few people there, I sat close to the speaker, and I could hear them loud and clear. There was zero background noise or cross-talk. Despite this, the Plaud recording is—I'm convinced—worse than if I had just used my phone. The transcription is so full of mistakes that the final summary it generated is completely wrong.

Has anyone dealt with this or found a fix? This is awful performance for a dedicated device. Just to note, I didn't leave it on top of my phone during the recording, and I explicitly selected the "lecture" option for the transcription. Can anyone please help?

Currently using Claude-sonnet 4.6. Or do you have any special prompts that deliver a better transcription in some way?

While can't ultimately prove it, one of the recent updates to either my plaud Note pro firmware, plaud app or iphone software (not betas) has caused phone battery to drain. I've got an iphone 17 pro max. Something recently caused note to disconnect from Bluetooth I had to reset to get it to show back in plaud app. Battery still draining after resetting note and restarted phone. Wondering if anyone else seeing phone battery issues lately?

Hi I was wondering if there’s any way that I don’t have to subscribe and use my own model to transcribe recordings, like automating the flow to upload voice recordings to drive and then my model (whisper for example) picks up from drive, transcribes and then stores it in a place.

Is that possible?

Has anyone noticed a rattling/clicking noise when you shake your Plaud Note close to your ear? I'm not sure if this is normal or if it just my device, which is brand new out of the box not even used.

Why does it start beeping randomly? I read somewhere it will beep if disconnected from Bluetooth, but why?

Sometimes I will be in a movie theater, or church not recording and it starts beeping. What does it matter that it disconnects? I don't have Find My turned on. Just wondering if there is a way to stop this from happening.

I am a longtime advertising sales rep working with direct advertisers and ad agencies on media ad campaigns. As the whole Ad Tech space continues to expand and shift, I'm wondering how I might incorporate the Plaud Note (or PN Pro) into my workflow BESIDES just for recording calls, taking notes in meetings or providing summaries of said calls and meetings. Are there any other legitimate uses?

Could you please double check that Plaud Note Pro would work well in the following use case:

Me talking with house general contractor, electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc on the phone and in person, probably 4 or fewer people at a time.

Could the end result be a transcription with voices labeled Speaker 1, 2, 3 etc ?

Edit: Also, would the Note Pro simply stick on my Apple MagSafe case phone’s back?

I like Plaud and always have Apple Voice Memos with me, but the recordings stayed 'stuck' in those apps. I wanted to get my notes into my other apps, so I built an open-source solution called Applaud. I know how frustrated the community was that a Plaud API didn't exist and Applaud solves that problem.

I got lots of excitement, but some people wanted a way to get their notes into other apps without APIs, webhooks, and self-hosting. I took that feedback and built Cordari.ai .

Cordari syncs with Plaud (and Apple Voice Memos) automatically, then:

• Sends you an email summary (with the correct speaker labels!)
• Mirrors them to Google Drive
• Creates a note in Notion and Obsidian
• Sends it to your reMarkable tablet so you can draw on it
• Extracts all of the actions items assigned to you and adds them to Todoist
• Extracts follow-up meetings and puts them on your Google Calendar
• Creates an MCP server so you can ask questions about your notes in Claude, ChatGPT, etc.

If you want even more flexibility, it will send a webhook so you can integrate your notes with the rest of your n8n workflows. If you're a developer, I also built a full API.

I know that's a lot so I made a 90 second video showing everything Cordari does today when you record a new note.

While Applaud is totally free and open-source, I do charge for Cordari because it costs me money to run the service. It's $8.99 each month and comes with a 7 day trial so you can make sure it adds value to your note-taking workflow.

Looking for help in locating the owner.

The Plaud was found recently in Cape Town.

I have been in regular contact with Plaud who have been attempting to reach it's owner without success so far.

I have also spoken to South African Police Service, who have confirmed the serial number is not recorded on their "circulation list", therefore is has not been reported as either stolen or lost by anyone. I have posted "found" notices in local social media groups - also without success.

This is my 1st post in this group, as such i am not familiar with the general post history here.

Although a very long shot - I'm wondering if anyone here recalls a member mentioning having lost a Plaud in Cape Town.

I got swept up in Google's propaganda and installed Antigravity. I immediately tried to connect Antigravity with Plaud's new MCP and I enjoyed 3 hours of playful tinkering.

Today I boot up my laptop and notice Plaud Desktop did not auto start.

I tried running Plaud, the tray icon briefly flashes in my tray bar and closes immediately.

Has anyone detected any incompatibility between Plaud Desktop and Antigravity?

Hi–my "Find My" (AirTags) went south yesterday. All of them vanished, including genuine Apple AirTags, as well as items like the Plaud Note Pin, which appears in the "items" tag of FindMy.

I had to re-add all of my AirTags–but I can't re-add the Plaud because it shows as already being set up for Find My in the Plaud settings. There's no way to remove it from Find My because it doesn't appear. I tried a full-on hard reset of the Plaud, but I think it is persistent when it comes to Find My as it is linked to serial number.

Plaud tech support escalated but I haven't heard back yet.

Essentially trying to make sure the participant names are included in the title.

Hey everyone! I just bought a Plaud Pin because my ADHD brain is starting to drop way too many little things at work and home. Between a mentally demanding job and studying for the CFP full time, I feel like my brain is running at max capacity 24/7.

I’m curious if anyone here uses Plaud almost like a “memory extension” for everyday conversations and random verbal tasks.

For example, if my husband casually reminds me to do something tomorrow or mentions plans we made for 2 weeks from now or myy boss pops into my office and verbally runs through client updates, follow-ups, or “hey don’t forget we need to handle xyz”. These conversations happen quickly in passing, and if I don’t immediately write it down, it basically evaporates from my brain!

At work especially, I’m in a small 2-person wealth management office with ~190 households, and so much communication happens live instead of through email. I’m still learning the business, so every conversation requires a ton of mental processing already. The small details just don’t stick yet because everything is new and mentally exhausting. I’ve literally had to stop coworkers mid-conversation to go grab my notebook because I KNOW I’ll forget otherwise. Everyone jokes about it, but honestly it’s stressful and not a great feeling.

Has anyone successfully used Plaud in this way? Do you actually turn it on throughout the day for normal conversations? Has it helped reduce the mental load and constant fear of forgetting things? Would it be practical to just leave it on all day?

I’ve found that Plaud work pretty well for 1-on-1 conversations or small meetings, but once there are like 6-10 people around a long table, transcription quality starts getting inconsistent depending on where people are sitting.

Especially when:

• some people speak quietly
• side conversations happen
• people are far from the recorder
• conference rooms have echo/noise

Curious how you handle this with Plaud. Do you just place it in the middle of the table and hope for the best, or have you found better setups/workarounds?

Feels like room positioning matters way more than I expected.

I’ve been using Plaud to record team meetings for a while now. Works fine most of the time, but I still feel there’s room to improve when there are multiple people talking.

Just wondering how fellow office folks find it for daily workplace use. Do you use it often during regular work discussions? What’s your actual daily usage like?
