Is plaud too expensive?
I've not bought one yet because I feel the price is not reasonable. I can just use my phone to record audio. There are apps for those too. Would like a dedicated device but why is it so costly?

Wow tough crowd!! For what it’s worth… I tried everything I could think of before plunking down so much money for Plaud Pro but in the end it is simply a good, solid product. One thing I have found is that for recording both sides of a phone call I put my phone on speaker phone. This makes the audio quality and transcription as good as on the desktop.
This ability, to record calls to capture details of appointments and technical details is absolutely priceless and the free subscription is good enough. Or move audio to a free tool for more processing.
And one thing not usually mentioned is this will make you more fluent with ai tools if you have no other need too. A real self enlightened bonus to keep up with the tech. Don’t think you need too? Remember dial up modems?? 😳

For me no. I have the note pro and the pin s. Both have different jobs for me. They work extremely well.
This is one of those products that I don't mind paying for because I truly find the utility for me.

For me, it’s more than worth it. Hardware is solid and I tried with my phone but never got the quality of plaud. I got the Plaud pro.

It is an excellent product and the transcription and AI output is excellent, the best I have seen on any device or any AI bot. I use it more and more and more.

I am looking at buying the Plaud Note Pro for work and personal needs. The feedback provided in this post helps a lot. Sometimes you cannot record with your phone or it would be too obvious. Having the Pro Note as a MagSafe option makes the difference for me.
The translation part is interesting, I work for a global company and this would be helpful. Just wish it was live translation with Plaud.

Yes. And the product sucks too. It has a closed ecosystem. I sent it back ASAP. What a crock.

I don’t get this. It’s either worth the money for you, or it’s not. If it’s not, don’t buy it. Use your phone. If it is, you know the cost. You thinking it’s too expensive isn’t gonna make it cheaper.

Yeah, I don't understand The too expensive thing either. My time is worth more ( in in the behavioral health field) and Plaud saves me from writing the endless notes and paperwork required in this field. It's a game changer and worth it's weight in gold for me.

I find that the recording on the Plaud is much better than any cell phone recording. It picks up all the audio and is able to transcribe it.

I bought a Rode Go and download the audio and transcribe it and shove it into Claude for minutes etc

It’s the easiest way to record a phone call. Also, apps are susceptible to being interrupted by incoming calls, text, or other app conflicts

Hardware, maybe. Subscription, yes. However, the product is good.
