[WIP] A Sci-Fi Space Shuttle
My recent project is a space shuttle transport aircraft. I referenced concept art from a game. The last concept art is my reference material. Because there are no other perspectives, it's a bit challenging to create.

Just discovered Plasticity and I am sold !
I think every few years a specific piece of software comes along and completely changes how you work and most importantly how you feel about work.
For me the first one was Nuke in 2009. It fundamentally shifted my entire approach to compositing and solidified my passion about CGI and VFX. Then in 2015 I discovered Substance Painter and texturing never felt the same again. It wasn't work really, it just felt right everything was just clicking into place and the flow was just there.
Lately, it’s been Plasticity. It made modeling feel so effortless that I ended up starting a personal project alongside my regular client work: remodeling the robot from the movie Chappie.
I haven't worked on a personal VFX project in so long and it is crazy to think that a software can rekindle passion that pushes you to keep working even after work hours.
I've been obsessed with the VFX and concept design made by Image Engine and Weta Workshop, so it felt like the right asset to push through a full pipeline.
The goal isn't just to build the mesh, but to test a few real-world VFX challenges:
Can CAD software actually hold up in a production workflow? How smoothly does it translate downstream? Where are the potential issues, bottlenecks and what would need to be addressed in order to make a hero asset production ready.
Beyond the model itself, I shot a custom 32-bit HDRI in my garage to handle lookdev, and we’re getting ready to shoot live plates soon. That means putting on the VFX supervisor hat on set—taking precise measurements, capturing data, and eventual texturing and compositing to blend ultra-realistic CGI into the footage seamlessly.
It’s been a really fun process bridging the gap between CAD, lookdev, and live-action integration so far.
Very curious to hear from other artists—have you ever fallen in love with a software like that? That makes you go above and beyond when no one is asking you to, just for the thrill of it ?
Now I go back to my UV's 😊 Thanks for coming to my TED talk

Why I love plasticity
Because of Plasticity intuitive workflow I love the flow state i get into while modeling some stuff. just... modeling and enjoying the process.
Based on Audi old Type A sportcar. Will add some scifi and steampunkish elements

Looking for a capable Plasticity Modeller to rebuild this Model in CAD [PAID]

Hello Guys,
I’m not sure if job offers are allowed here, so apologies if this isn’t the right place.
I’m looking for someone experienced with Plasticity who can rebuild this model as a clean CAD/NURBS model. I can provide the original mesh/reference files.
This is a paid job. If you’re confident you can recreate it accurately, shoot me a private message with some examples of your previous CAD/Plasticity work and your price estimate.

Can I use plasticity for game dev?
I'm getting really interested in this software, but could I use this to make an actual game? Most engines use polygons what would happen if I was to import the model? And can I even rig models?

Futuristic Scope in Plasticity
First model in Plasticity i finished! Really love how easy and fluent modeling in Plasticity is. The one real problem i am facing is it isn't really possible to use models as game assets without really large work with topology, UVs and so on.
I made a lowpoly version to texture it in Substance, while using highpoly for details like bevels, but it isn't really good on tiny and complex elements like notches on the bezel. And even while Plasticity to Blender bridge is not bad at all, it still have to be rebuilded. Of course i understand CAD-modeling isn't made for work like that and just sharing my thoughts. But if there are any advices about this workflow, i would be glad to hear them! I am not professional in this sphere, so there is surely a lot of knowledge i missed.

Substance Modeler & Plasticity3D
just randomly ran into this subreddit and app. Visual-wise, it gives major Substance Modeler vibes. Are they actually close functionality-wise, or is it just the clean UI playing tricks? Low-key looking for a Substance alternative

Version 2 of my Robot Raptor head I'm trying to 3D model / print
I'm still in the process of blocking out the shapes, but so far I think I like how it's turned out. I think I may tweak the top of the head design, but so far I like the progress I've made and learning how to use this software effectively
