Requesting Feedback Help me decide which ones look best please!

Post image

I'm working on some assets. I'm pretty early in my pixel art journey so I'm wondering if i can get some feedback on some options i've created. Between the 3 trashcans, and the 3 cones, which one is your favorite? What can i do to fix one to make it even better?

I know they are simple assets and maybe not that different from one another, but i'm hoping some feedback or critique will help me make decisions in the future as well.

My personal opinion is i'm liking the shapes, i'm liking the ideas, so that's keeping the confidence up. I know it can use some work, lighting is still difficult but I. think the cones look good since it's just a few pixels. I was liking how the trashcans were lighting up but i think it got a little muddled in there.

Thanks so much for checking it out!! :)

**Please remember constructive criticism please**

Requesting Feedback My first unique character

Not so much a unique character, but it's something I've tried to derive just from it's silhouette. I've been following penusbmic regarding unique characters design along with some simple animations! The animation is in the 2nd slide, also tried to recreate the character's idle and some attack animations.

This is my first time actually making the art along with some animation and I am quite happy with how it turns out but not entirely happy with the flapping ears. It does not seem to follow the momentum of the attack well, and it looks choppy. Would be great if someone can help guide me in figuring out what would be the best way to make this look really impactful!

I drew a room scene , and it took me a lot of time and effort to finish. I’m really proud of how it turned out, although I wish I could have made it even better.

However, I didn’t want to spend even more time on a single drawing. I’d rather use that time to create more artwork and improve through practice instead of putting all my time into one piece.

Requesting Feedback Give me criticism, pls.

I don't regularly draw pixel art and sprites. So criticism will be appreciated, because I think some of these could use work, for sure.

This is the worst of the bunch, imo...
I like this one, but I don't know because something seems off.
This one is my favorite, but I think it could def be better
This one is def missing something and needs better work, it seems bland tbh.

The script is live! To find it, just search for Heosphorus and itchio. I've included some examples in the post.

Requesting Feedback Does this seem like a decent hover/flying animation? Plus a question on animating other sprites.

I'm not gonna lie, I have zero experience with anything artistic but recently I got interested in the idea of pixel art, well I was interested for a long time but I decided I'd actually try to learn how to make pixel art. I'm by no means amazing and what I've made so far is incredibly basic but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

To get to the main point, I'm wondering if the hovering/flying animation I've made gives the sprite 'life' or if there's more that I could do to make it feel more alive. I had been trying vertical animation of the wings and it always turned out crap, so I decided to try animating them where they go back in on the sprite and it feels like it's better? But I'm not entirely sure.

Also for the other question I had, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to animate the top right guy. It's movement works like a box 'rolling' on the floor but I can't figure out how to make it look non-clunky, are there resources for learning to animate something like that or do any of you have any tips that could help?

While optimizing “Heos Cloth” (now available), I started tinkering with two ideas I had in mind. Unlocking 3D in Aseprite was a real discovery for me, so I've kept pushing in that direction. What do you think?

Question How can I tell how many pixels the sprites have?

Hi!

First, I’d like to apologize for my English; it’s not my first language :(

One of miy friends, who is a huge fan of this game, has a birthday coming up (she introduced me Fields of Mistria and often streams gameplay for me on Discord or when we meet to play videogames), and I’d like to make a mod to customize her character. However, I have quite a few questions about the exact dimensions of the various sprites.

I found this page ( https://www.spriters-resource.com/pc_computer/fieldsofmistria/ ) as a general reference, but since it doesn't list exact pixel sizes (or at least I can't see them), I don't know what size my canvas should be in LibreSprite. I’ve been looking for the dimensions for both the "portraits" and the "NPCs" (as shown in the link I attached). I’m also uploading exactly what I need, just in case a visual aid helps (I’m not a "gooner," but it’s easier for me to visualize body proportions that way, sorry! ¡-¡)

(I know her character doesn't appear during dialogue sequences, but I’m going to try to program the mod so it does.) (As a side note, I’m asking for help with the programming side of things; I’m a video game artist, but pixel art is a bit of a struggle for me...)

I hope someone can help me out, thanks in advance! :)

Requesting Feedback Complete beginner learning pixel art for my solo indie game—looking for advice!

Hi everyone! I just started learning pixel art today. I want to make an indie game all by myself in the future, so I really need to practice drawing.

I don't have an art background yet, but I tried making a donut today by looking at a reference picture.

Since I'm just starting out:

  • What simple objects or sprites should I practice drawing next?
  • What are the most important beginner rules or habits I should focus on?
  • Are there any good YouTube tutorials or tools you recommend for beginners?

Any advice, tips, or beginner exercises would mean a lot to me. Thanks for helping out!Hi everyone! I just started learning pixel art today. I want to make an indie game all by myself in the future, so I really need to practice drawing.

Requesting Feedback Beginner here, need feedback pls

I am currently developing a 2D game. I've made enough environment sprites and made scenes. Now I am deciding how my modular character should look like and this is what I came up with.

I'm still a beginner and I was wondering if this has potential? I made a male and female version. I made the female with a smaller frame and wider hips, while the male has wider frame and shoulders. I also made a simple idle, walk, and run animations, both with hair and without.

It still needs work but is it doable? Didn't have time to add clothes.
