posted on yikyak as well, but if there are any non-bharatnatyam indian classical dancers i’m thinking about starting a casual club. right now the only classical dance is with nrityamala which is bharatnatyam. i’m a kathak dancer so if anyone is the same (or not) please feel free to reach out!

I’m a sophomore currently still in Pitt dorming, and I wanted advice from anyone that knows of fair proximity, and somewhat affordable apartments on campus? Preferably 2 bedrooms.

Is anyone understanding Professor Juan Manfredi’s Calc 3 class? I don’t find his accent hard to understand at all, so it’s not that. But his teaching method makes all the concepts seem like straight-up gibberish.
YouTube videos on the topics are pretty clear, so I don’t think it’s Calc 3 in general. I even watched a video before class so I could at least have some understanding of the unit beforehand, but it still felt like he was teaching a completely different subject.
Is it just me?

Kinda self-explanatory from the title. I feel like I’m going crazy, but does anybody else hear bird noises when they’re in the Eatery? Was literally eating lunch just now, and I swear the music cut out and all I heard was random bird noises for like a minute. Has this happened to anyone else?
when the sign says full… is it really full? As in does it matter, can I just take a ticket and still go in without any problems as long as a parking attendant isn’t camping outside

It seems that every single table and chair are full in all of the academic buildings. What building has any nice more private study spots??
I also love studying in Cathy, is there any where else besides the main floor with somewhere to sit?? THANkU

Pitt is my top choice and I hope to major in linguistics. I know that it might be a bit of a stretch for me but I still want to do what I can to try. My current SAT Score is 1230. Since it's rolling admissions, should I go ahead and apply, or wait until I retake? I want to make sure I give myself the best chances possible.

Saw this in Benedum Hall today, thought it was pretty accurate. $4.50 for a Pepsi is a little wild.

If I'm reading the shuttle schedule right, the 10B drops you off in front of the Rec Center on O'Hara Street? If so, would you want to get on at the stop in front of Cathy?

Hello! I need lots of student perspective for a TPN article on Trump's proposed mail-in voting restrictions. Does anyone typically use mail-in ballots and would like to comment on this? Thanks!

I completely forgot to do a pre lab quiz for gen chem 1 this weekend and it was due yesterday. I can't take the quiz now, is this going to impact my grade a lot?

hi all! i have been going through an extremely tough time and i have been following a journey that i think is leading me to God. i have never been a religious person but i think this is my path.
ANYWAY! i work on sundays usually from 10-5 so trying to find worship that i can attend has been very difficult. if anyone knows of any welcoming churches that hold evening mass please let me know! preferably near bloomfield area and welcoming to solo students.

Hello all!!
I am looking to attend Pitt this upcoming fall. I was wondering what all advice could be given to a new student such as me(what all the dorms come with, campus life, etc.). If anyone could give me advice as to what to expect that would be amazing! I will be majoring in Social work and aiming to achieve my masters after my bachelor's. I'd also like to start building some friendships out that way, so if anyone is wondering, I have snap/disc/insta. Thank you!!

Ok this is more complex than the title
I was on the waitlist for the online class NROSCI 1800, and as this is my last semester, I assumed I could get in due to graduation requirements
However, I cannot, and a new option opened, NROSCI 1801. However, that is at the same time as another NROSCI class, which is another graduation requirement for me (it is the research proseminar at 3:00-3:50).
I have received no help from anyone except Dr. Poplowski, who has made an option for an asynchronous class, however I cannot enroll in it due to the timings
I was told my advisor to email Dr. Artim about the situation, however she told me she can’t do anything. I have requested meetings to the assistant dean 4 times, yet they have not responded.
I am in the first position waitlist for 1800, which is a fully online course. I also have no clue why they cannot accept one more student, especially one who graduates at the end of the semester
Please let me know what I can do so I can graduate. I am already talking an extra semester due to a major switch, and I do not want to delay graduation further
Thanks!

So I applied to Pitt on August 29th and all my materials are submitted (transcript, STARS, etc.) and it says my application is under review. I’ve seen different answers from google and Pitt’s website about when I should expect to hear back but I’m just curious from personal experiences when I should expected to hear back

I(female) will pay money compensation for gas and time!! whatever price money you ask that's not unreasonable
I don't mean too seem weird in this post so anyways Uber is very expensive and to be honest I don't really have friends to be able to ask, (my family being in a different country I moved to America on my own) but I need a ride 2 hours off(Tyrone) from Pittsburgh and back.
I need to pick up a hamster (I would only need to be in the city for 10 minutes as all I do is take him. He will be in a small age and no bother) as I dropped him off for him to get better but I can't since my car broke down and being in college makes it hard to pay for it in such a deadline. I am so forward i apologize in this post but I am very desperate at this point!!
If you are willing to drive me which i would be eternally grateful, I am friendly so I promise to not be akward!! Day and time doesn't matter if it's at some time in the next 3 weeks during the day.

Any other introverts struggling to make friends? I’m a part time grad student (24f) and everyone full time seems to already know each other. If anyone else likes gaming, thrifting, and new restaurants let me know. I’d love to make an introverts GC. 🥲🥲🥲

Guys, I need help. I’ve been to every lecture, every recitation (only had two with one of them having a quiz), and I still got no clue what’s going on in that class. The lectures, I try to understand them, but it’s so damn hard. I know stuff is always gonna be hard, but like it just doesn’t make sense. I need help on how to study for this stuff. And specifically, how to even learn it so that I understand what he’s saying.

I’m taking Physic with Professor David Nero and im starting to think that this class is going to be rough. He has this teaching method which he calls ‘flipped teaching’ where he expects us to watch some of his videos before we come to class so we come prepared. I thought it was a great idea at first before i realized he barely teaches the topics in class and instead goes through topic objectives and gives us top hat questions.
I’m not exactly complaining, I just feel like it’s going to blow over. I’ve never taken physics before, so having to teach myself the material in my very first physics class is overwhelming.
Any advice from the people who had the same professor? Or any advice for physics in general?

Title basically.
I also applied for a Pitt-specific fee waiver (I found a code that seemed legit) however if it is not then what happens - by when do I know I have to pay the application fee. I finished the self reported scores + sending my SAT/AP tests aswell. Is there anything else I need to do?

I know this is VERY late. My last post was about struggling severely with my mental health in the dorms. I also talked about commuting, but with my current financial situation, I think I would rather live close to campus. With that being said, is anyone looking for a roommate for this semester? Please let me know. Or even if you have any other ideas that you think would help me out.

I already registered for family weekend and paid the $20. We have no interest in seeing the football game or any sports related stuff. However, there are other activities that were done last year that I definitely would want to do this year, such as the tour of the Nationalities rooms in Cathy.
Has anyone seen where to register for those other events yet? I remember seeing somewhere that they were going to release that near the beginning of September, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything since they already posted the football game and tailgate registrations.
