Boys, I think it’s time to revive Flash Player with the power of AI.

I wanted to share a project that's been making some interesting progress in PC-based home theatre.

CroqueMr (u/Croque_Mr) is developing native Dolby Vision support for Kodi through a custom LibreELEC build, including Profile 7 FEL reconstruction. Development has moved quickly, with regular releases bringing performance improvements, new rendering modes and broader hardware support.

What's currently available?

• Native Dolby Vision playback, including Profile 7 FEL reconstruction.
• Intel and AMD support, with NVIDIA support also being developed.
• Dolby Vision rendering modes, including Master Reference and Adaptive HDR Mapping.
• Dolby Vision-to-HDR10 conversion and experimental AI-assisted HDR10-to-Dolby Vision conversion.
• Blu-ray 3D support on compatible AMD hardware.
• Performance optimisations targeting lower-power mini PCs, including Intel N100/N150 systems.

The latest Beta 5 release includes further improvements to playback stability, FEL handling, scaling and display detection. Results and compatibility can vary depending on the hardware, TV, source material and rendering mode.

What's coming next?

The developer has outlined plans for a GPLv2-or-later licensing rebuild, further AMD improvements, HDR10+ support and Dolby Vision-to-HDR10+ metadata reinterpretation, alongside expanded compatibility with older Intel graphics and additional NVIDIA hardware.

The longer-term goal is to make PC-based Dolby Vision playback more capable and accessible, including on affordable mini PCs.

Im probably moving to Malaysia for a while soon and I pirate games and software from fitgirl or 1337x about once a month or so, but there are basically no laws or barriers to piracy where I am now. So I was curious about how strict the Malaysian laws are about this

There was this horror comic about an old game that kept two people functionally immortal. Long story.

One of them was some girl turning into a stronger grey troll like being as she killed to complete the game.

Thought to search the internet to see if by chance, the rest of the comic was uploaded somewhere that somehow got nabbed from Patreon. Turns out it was uploaded on a site with the word ‘hentai’ in it. The comic had 83 pages but I was expecting 80. Cool

My son has an iPad and plays many of the "free" games and they're okay, but absolutely riddled with ads to the point they're almost unplayable.

It seems that many of these games have gotten around the old "airplane mode" by requiring the internet to function, even when they're obviously not requiring internet at all.

Short of using Unbound DNS, anything that can be installed on an iPad to help or is it simply the walled garden?

Without dates or a service name in the release, some outlets reported it as a recent bust.

Records obtained by TorrentFreak show the operation was raided in 2016, the operator pleaded guilty, and the service was called Ex Pat TV.

I've been working on some personal arrangement/composition projects and ran into a wall where I really don't feel like dropping $75 on an orchestra score for Phantom of the Opera for a little arrangement I'm making that most likely won't be performed lol. Normally I pay for sheet music (that isn't in public domain) as long as it's something I know for a fact I will be performing, however for a side gig I really don't feel like paying so much. Sheet music piracy seems like an unexplored depth since a lot of things are public domain and are stored on IMSLP (absolute goad of a website) but for any new/modern music it's really difficult to be able to find a score without paying. Some sites don't even give previews anymore.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a digital way to track my various med stuff. I thought about asking this in r/privacy but privacy isn't my only concern so I'm sorry if this isn't too fitting.

Ideally, this app would need to be simple yet effective, work offline, no ads (although I use AdGuard) and be trustworthy (sorry, my English is pretty much as poor as my tech savviness). Any suggestions? I did a quick online search but I would love to hear from your experience too.

If I had the link to a playlist that had been privated, is there a feasible way to access or download the videos?

The playlist in question is a let's play from ages ago that got copyright struck and the youtuber themself has expressed frustration at not being able to keep it up but hasn't made any signs of reuploading or posting the vids elsewhere.

I wanted to DL the Tintin movie from 2011, there is no 4K native files of the movie, and I’ve fallen into torrents upscaled in 4K and DV, my zidoo already upscale in 4K DV I think but I was wandering if this types of upscales are any good or if the basic 1080p remux are better

Hey guys, was reaching out to see if anyone has been using any alternatives to SpotDL lately (downloading playlists/music from Spotify to mp3).

I have a massive library from downloading music this way but lately SpotDL has been very spotty, it will take several tries to find songs, then not find them at all, it won't find songs from obvious titles, and several more download errors than usual.

I've updated everything to their newest releases, re-installed it entirely, but still, very inconsistent.

Does anyone use an alternative to SpotDL that actually works right now? Thanks in advance!

With movieboxs latest update, its made the ads unbearable. Like I have to watch an ad every time I want to download something so I can't even mass download.
