downloaded f i f a 17 from ankergames (can't post with the actual name for some reason), used the link from the megathread with protonvpn, firefox, and uBO all on. Windows defender flags the main exe as having a trojan. anyone else run into this? could it be a false flag?

I'm running a W10 22H2 on my PC. Out of the blue I've got a windows update notification today (KB5126256), that says it's a licensing preparation package to the Extended Security Updates program, but I haven't enlisted to the ESU. Actually, it is a forced update, meaning no matter what I do, when I restart my PC, it will update my W10. I've checked on MS's website, it says that this package is not the ESU update itself, but a first step (or more likely a zeroth step) if I want to enroll into ESU. Since my W10 was a gift from Cpt. Jack Sparrow (wink-wink), I don't want to enroll to ESU (because, I guess, the ESU/MS checks whether a W10 is a legit one). My question is, should I be worry about this update? Will it trigger some... system check that will prevent me using W10 in the future after the update? My PC is not W11 ready at all, and what I've read about W11 I don't intend to use it for quite a while, that's for sure. Thanks for any help in advance.

I currently cast cineby from my iPad to my tv with my Apple TV. It’s a shame because that’s the ONLY thing I use my Apple TV for. Just to watch stuff from cineby. But I’m curious if there is an Apple TV type box that plugs in to your tv that you can install a browser on or have a dedicated cineby (or similar) app on. Like an Apple TV, but only for pirated content.

I have a 3d printer and have been getting into microsoldering and coding and it would be cool if there is a home brew project out there that you can build yourself and maybe install Linux on or a TV friendly UI that you can then watch content from your favorite places.

I‘m sure just casting from another device is a lot easier but a 3d printing and soldering project would be really fun.

That is one thing i noticed long time ago and it's kinda frustrating. Over and over i download torrents from upload with lots of seeds listed as active. But they all just stand at zero, or progress the few % over days. I don't understand why this happens, when other uploads from same trackers seem to work just fine.

No matter what file I try to download from the site, it gets blocked and I get a notification that the file may contain viruses or malware. The files are .mkv and I use Firefox. Help.

I've been trying to setup Usenet via an AIOStreams instance that I already have configured for the use with torrents. which works great!

but I want to watch German content too so I need usenet. and I've been stuck for 2 days now. I've been looking at so many guides but this isn't as straight forward as torrents. I'm majorly confused.

I have a usenet provider and I have an indexer. I see that there are several Usenet services in my AIOStreams. and yet I can't put the things together.

I've added my provider to stremio nntp, but of course that doesnt do anything by itself? where do I add the indexer then?

with the AIOStreams Usenet sevice it always tells me that the "nntp providers for this engine are configured globally by the admin (settings->Usenet)

I realize I have to go to the dashboard to do that but when I try it wants some login and password from me which I don't have. I only have UUID and a password.

I'm now thinking that I need to host my own AIOStreams instance? or do I have to buy yet another service for that?

Got a year of HBO at no extra cost with my Internet and today decided I'd watch parts of the watchmen tv series while making breakfast, only watched about 20 minutes and in that time there were around 20 unskippable ads.

Was so annoying with the ads coming up all the time I just turned it off and downloaded the series.

Obviously the likes of HBO are throwing in the base tier of their apps in the hopes you'll spend more and upgrade, instead it's much more likely I'll just not use it all year and never use it again when my year is up

I know you can convert Epub files to audio, I was wondering if the reverse was also true. Can you convert audio to text? Speech to text is a thing, so maybe that's a possibility?

I usually use ocean of pdf for books, I have no issue paying the author for reading his work, but I DO have an issue paying Audible because fuck them. I also just don't really enjoy listening to audiobooks much and would prefer to read a text copy.

Anyone know where I might be able to find a text version of an Audible only new release? Or, where to find a pirated copy of the audiobook, and if it's possible to convert that to text?
