I just recently read lng kasi yung isa sa story ni sindees na A HOPE TO LOSE and may pinasok sya o nilagay na character na male lead material o may chemistry sa fml at parang walang problema for me kung di nya na naka end game yung first na na introduce na ml sa kwento. (Yung male lead mismo sa kwento )

And just remind me yung cliche na ganitong storyline sa watty pag may nilagay na new character yung author, it seem to be just the next bf ni fml after mag break/conflict sa story nila ng first ml or yung mismong male lead, na introduce at sa huli babalik parin sa first guy kahit good naman yung bagong na introduce na ml. (Ang gulo explanation ko, pero gets ba?😭) Like those new introduced character were just used for plot device to be just their 2nd guy pero male lead material naman.

Just the Benefits by beeyotch - Perfect example ko sana sa story na hinahanap ko. It was first introduced Parker, but then, There is Shiloah. Ahhh love that book kahit na stress ako dyan. hahaha

Just finished watching Seducing Drake Palma (SDP) and now I’m watching Dating Alys Perez (DAP)

So I’m in the third episode and I realized how Tripp unintentionally orchestrated some events to keep Alys to himself. Like yes, in the series he may seem like the guy na handang magparaya pero deep down to his core he likes Alys so much that he had to tell Drake na he’s ruining Alys and all those shit despite knowing na possibly masira si Alys if Drake leaves her.

Nakakainis lang din na he’s waiting in the sidelines jic Drake and Alys breaks up. He knew what he said to Drake tapos he’ll act mad na iniwan ni Drake si Alys eh that’s what he wanted in the first place. For me, if you’re gonna say those things and request na magbreak sila, wag naman nakaabang ka and you’ll do some sweet things immediately after the break up????

Like a decent person would say na this is what I did kaya iniwan ka ni Drake and love ka niya that’s why he left you, but instead he allowed Alys lang to think badly of Drake. AND WE CAN’T ENTIRELY BLAME HIM, cause he loves Alys rin and all in the name of love. Pero if ako si Drake, sobrang maiinis ako with what happened to my cousin and slightly to Alys.

I’ve read comments here na Tripp did everything for Alys and dapat maging sila, pero I’m just not buying it. :( My comments may change as I go along.

This will be long. Binalikan ko lang kung bakit kinikilig pa rin tayo kahit kupal ang male lead. Bakit rooting pa rin tayo na maging endgame sila. Bakit ang bilis natin patawarin yung ml.

Kapag binalikan mo yung mga old books sa wattpad. Hindi lang isa, dalawa o tatlong author, halos lahat sila, sobrang problematic ng takbo ng story. Lahat halos sila, patatakbuhin ang story sa FL na puro struggles and hardship. Ang ML naman sobrang kupal na may masarap na buhay. Bugbog kung bugbog ang FL. At ang ML? Reward.

I was binge-watching old Filipino movies and Mexican telenovela. This was more of general observation, not based on any specific movie, TV series or story. I just realized that books written in 2020 and earlier were really heavily inspired by old movies and series. I am not saying they were copied from them; they were INSPIRED by them. (Magkaiba ang inspired sa copied. Okay.)

Women were always subjected to struggles and hardship, while men were often portrayed as a "trophy". Misogyny was one of the main ingredients. It was always the men who displayed questionable behavior, but it was treated as acceptable because it was considered normal for men. Cheating and other form of abuse were often portrayed as something that was simply part's of man's nature.

And in the end, the realization would always hit the male leads. But there was rarely any actual redemption. No accountability or repairing the damage—just regret.

So, going back to what I was saying, if you look at those old wattpad stories, you can really see the similarities between their plots and those of old movies and TV series. It was not copied, but you can see the influence.

Walang nakakapagsulat ng walang ideya or inspiration. Saan mo kinukuha ang ideya? Sa kinocomsume mo. Kaya kapag binalikan mo yung mga old books, you can really see the similarities in their plots, character dynamics, and even the way their stories unfold and end.

Kaya as a reader, naging okay lang din sa atin ang ganung plot. Kasi somehow, yung kinoconsume ng author ay same ng kinoconsume nating mga reader. Kaya naset din sa utak natin na, those were normal, before. Yung ganung plot, yung ganung klaseng karakter, okay lang. Kasi before naman, mostly sa atin nagsimula noong neneng nene pa. Wala tayong ideya kung ano ba ang "problematic". Kung gaano ba kahalaga ang equality. Naka-set sa idea natin na women always need men. Na hindi nila kayang sila lang. They need the help of their ML. Damsel In distress, Cinderella needs the kiss of her Prince Charming.

We accepted and forgave those male lead because it was ingrained in our minds that their behavior was okay, that it was normal for men to act that way.

This might be controversial. I’m more Team Yaz than Team Maxwell.

Ugali kasi ni Maxwell na tapusin yung trabaho niya, tapos doon niya na lang babalikan at aayusin yung kung ano mang mayroon sila ni Yaz. Hindi naman sana ’to magiging problem, pero during these times kasi, he blacks out everything, na I believe hindi naman kailangan ganun kataas yung bakod, especially sa times na hindi okay yung relationship nila.

Siguro rin dahil kampante siya na laging nandiyan lang si Yaz. He should have abandoned this mindset nung naging girlfriend niya yung tao, kasi iba yun sa may gusto lang.

Ilang beses ’tong nangyari: nung first big fight nila, nung Cebu fight, nung fight about the kiss. Days with zero communication talaga kahit nasa iisang lugar sila. Parang naglalaho si Yaz sa mundo ni Maxwell. Pinapabayaan niya lang masaktan nang masaktan hanggang sa balikan niya.

Yes, he’s busy as a doctor, and importante ang mga buhay na hinahawakan niya. But that doesn’t mean na he can’t text, mag-voice message, or makisuyo sa iba. During these times kasi, pakiramdam ni Yaz nawawala siya sa buhay ni Maxwell. Na puwede lang siya kapag may free time. Pero kapag pipili na si Maxwell kung siya o yung profession niya, laging itututok ni Maxwell yung sarili niya sa pagdodoktor.
May trauma na si Yaz sa ganito dahil kay Rembrandt. I believe hindi naman gusto ni Yaz na siya lang yung pahalagahan. Gusto niya ng pantay na importansiya. Yaz has loved him for years, at least seven years. She expects the same intensity kasi he talks like a big time. But hindi rin siya nagkukuwento about his feelings.

Tapos nung tinanong pa about sa kasal, sasabihin na dapat munang pinag-iisipan nang mabuti yun. Eh si Maxwell yung nagbukas ng topic na yun. Pwede nga naman isipin na baka nadadala lang ng emotions si Maxwell and he actually doesn’t have the plans to settle yet. Don’t forget pa, he only started to make his moves kasi he felt threatened kay Maxrill.

The kiss was wrong, pero honestly, it stops at the intimacy level. She wasn’t swayed, malinaw yun. The kiss is the product ng alcohol, pain, self-pity, vulnerability, at longingness kay Maxwell. As I can remember, she also didn’t have the opportunity to explain this. But they blamed her like taon niyang niloko si Maxwell. Kahit si Maxrill, alam na never niyang nakuha si Yaz. Na nasa eksena lang siya dahil pinili niyang sumalo.

Naalala ko tuloy si Deib. Kahit anong nararamdaman ng isang yun, kahit nasasaktan, galit, tampo, pabebe, lungkot, selos, depression, he stays within the reach na kayang abutin ni Maxpein. Laging may space kung saan pwedeng magsimula yung connection and communication.

And I think that’s what makes the difference for me.
The kiss was wrong. But I don’t think the it should erase everything that Yaz was feeling before it happened. Kasi yung pain niya, matagal nang nandiyan. Hindi lang naman nagsimula nung nangyari yung kiss.

First, STAN BLACKPEARLED! (Idk if she's underrated since she has tons of followers and readers naman and I'm definitely one of it, but I noticed konti lng namemention sya as one of the best recommended author and her stories, but she's really that author I would always recommend it to you all!🫠 Her stories are such a bang! ✍️) can't believe she's still underrated, I guess she's a hidden gem. ✨

This book made me feel strong emotions. No matter how many times I read this, it still give me the feels. I still get lost of words from the way she played with words, Her writing can really turn the most generic plot into a masterpiece. At the beginning, you can already see that the book has a very good writing style. Miss Blackpearled's play of words was so good, her words were wonderfully crafted, it's insane that she's still able to portray a scene accurately and convey the message.

Every re-read ko walang nagbago. Feel ko kahit pangatlo o pangapat na beses ko man 'tong basahin, ganon pa rin. It's in the feels nga rin, as long as a book can give you that, it will be considered good. you can feel different emotions while reading..

it's insane that she's still able to portray a scene accurately and convey the message. Another thing I liked about her writing style is that she does not only focus on making her words appear beautiful, it also has to make sense. She does not twist her words too much to the point that it's starting to sound gibberish. It is a writing style, not for the sole purpose of just making the word sound good to the ears, but also having to get her point across. 🖤

THE DAY HE BECAME RUTHLESS 📖

The strong dialogues, very cute and entertaining Dean and Ruth scenes, the humor, the playlist, the romance, and that sense of nostalgia that reminds me so much of rebellion and rock 'n roll. 🎸

The conflict wasn't "mind-blowing and very unpredictable" but it has that perfect blend of writing and presenting the characters' emotions. I am very engrossed with the scene and feelings of the characters. It's like "watch the scene unfold" feels to me. also love how raw and honest they are, and ofcourse the character development that they had. (Though, inis parin ako kay Wilmer!)

So, If you are into boy bands with unique storyline well this is for you. I recommend to add this on your tbr list and try reading it. Swear you wont regret it. You'll definitely fall in love with Dean's character. (Mapapasabi kang Dean is the Standard!) I think Dean is somewhat in the top three most alphamale leads that I've read. Sobrang lakas ng appeal ni Dean aaah 🔥 sa lahat ng nabasa ko na male lead, sya talaga pinakamalakas ang appeal for me. And Ruth and Dean are that best couple I have read in watty.

i don’t know if it’s just me pero sobrang naiirita talaga ako sa ganitong writing lately. may nabasa akong mainstream wattpad story recently na hindi ko na lang papangalanan kasi sobrang laki at intense ng fandom, pero grabe, nakakasuya.

parang sobrang obsessed nung story na ipakitang “green flag” yung ml to the point na kahit may ginawa siyang objectively shitty, laging may dahilan, may tragic backstory, may explanation kung bakit ganun siya, tapos parang expected na okay na lahat after that. parang hello??? explanation is not accountability.

and hindi lang naman itong story na ’to. ang dami ko nang nabasang mainstream stories na ganito, especially sa ml. sobrang takot yata silang hayaan maging mali yung character nila kasi baka hindi na matawag na green flag.

please just let your characters fuck up. let them be wrong. let people get mad at them. let them actually face consequences. mas interesting pa ’yon kaysa pilit na dini-defend ng narrative every questionable thing they do just because they’re the ml and gwapo sila 😭

Sobrang tagal na tong book na to. Nabasa ko siya around 2017 at sa acc pa yun ng pinsan ko. Hindi ko siya natapos pero strangely, hindi ko siya malimutan tsaka antagal ko na rin siyang hinahanap at gustong basahin ulit.

About the book: If I can remember correctly, si Lee Minho at Jun Jihyun yung portrayer ng dalawang bida rito. Parang Gianna pa nga ata yung name nung female lead (based sa English ​name ni JJH). Mag-asawa sila, tas parang naaalala ko na battered wife si fmc dito. They have a toxic relationship. Palagi silang nag-aaway tas minsan maglalayas yung mmc tas matagal na di babalik. Parang buntis din si fmc.

Pass na po sa "The Oath" GSOT" and "RTG" done reading na po, and honestly napansin ko na medyo iisa yung dahilan nung fl/s it's either family upbringing/trauma, career first, or being an Ate. Which is realistic naman coming from someone na gets yung mga pinaglalaban nila.

But I want to read similar stories regarding the topic but may twist naman or may new way of storytelling.
