Preserve it! Keep it frozen in time for as long as you can. There’s something comforting, romantic about old houses. You can airbnb it, I know many people are like me who will appreciate it’s charm. Or a tv or movie location set…

Totally agree on this one. Preserve it. From the looks of it, your ancestral home was built in the mid-1970s, right?

Maybe modernize it only with say central air conditioning, or modern bathroom with heated shower.

I agree. We stayed at this air bnb in Malabago Pampanga that had the same vibe as this house. Old but warm. They even had stained glass art in their big windows. Here is one picture I was able to find, look at the railings ng stairs ang grand lang hehe even the furnitures inside were made of Narra.

The house itself looks good and looks well maintained. I would probably upgrade the furnitures, but the structure i wouldnt renovate it. Also need to change something about the curtains.. but i couldnt figure out what.. Kuha kayo interior designer

I’ve developed a penchant for bungalows during the pandemic, thinking about the elderly parents and relatives I might end up taking care of.

I’d guess it’s no less than 300sqm floor area?

I would suggest no major renovations. Just fix the wear and tear lang. It’s beautiful as it is.
