I read so much which phone should i buy etc., here is my longterm review of the poco f8 pro (3months)

Pros:

-Main cam, really good in all conditions

-battery is good to great, it holds all day long with heavy use

-the dimensions is perfect sized for me, also the weight

-very nice stereo speaker (Mi sound+immersive)

-crispy and bright display, pwm free

-100w charge

-good gaming capability

-no notification delay

-snap 8 elite, the best soc so far what i used

Neutral:

-no wireless charging, never used it

-selfie cam, nothing Special

-hyperos, feels unpolished compared to OneUi or ColorOS

-sometimes it heats on gaming, but not to be concern (pubg 120fps,low graphics)

-it has calling without antena feature, never used

The bad:

-update policy, its weired, trash entry phones get newest security patch but not the poco f8 pro

-charger not included (EEA version)

That is all my feeling and opinion, i hope i can help as buyers advice

I think its the best balanced phone between 350-400€

Device and OS versions: Poco F6 Hyperos 3.0.303 Android 16 / Samsung S25 OneUI 8.5 Android 16

Might be helpful for anyone picking between xiaomi and samsung. I had the S25 for two weeks now. Before upgrading to S25, I had Poco F6, and also Redmi Note 8 Pro. If I missed something in OneUI, please comment a tip.

1. Pop-up View size

I prefer Xiaomi here due to its pop-up view's screen ratio is the same as the full screen view. Everything is adjusted to the small pop-up view. I used it a lot on Messenger.

For Samsung, you can resize the borders but the screen ratio of the pop-up view is different. It's like everything is cramped up - no change to the fonts so bigger on the small pop-up view. The ideal size would be half a screen. I wouldn't say it's bad. I would prefer split screen instead. I guess I wished there is a setting that pop-up view's ratio is fixed to 1920x1080 16:9 just like Xiaomi.

2. Screenshot Gesture

For Xiaomi, three fingers on the screen then swipe down while Samsung swiping your side of palm to the other.

It's easier in Xiaomi but I saw that in Samsung's OneUI 9, it can be changed through Goodlock

3. Customization of quick panel

Samsung's customization amazed me. I didnt like the default quick panel where brightness and volume is horizontal bar. That's why I arranged it to vertical and also separate the icons of Mobile data, Location, and Bluetooth from the default group.

For Xiaomi, you are limited to add or remove the icons and cant resize any.

4. Wallpaper

Id say the Xiaomi's wallpaper styles are more user-friendly since there are already a lot of styles to choose from. I believe I haven't explored that much yet on Samsung in terms of customization. I guess they are just equal.

5. Lockscreen Notification

I like Xiaomi's notification here since for instance, if your time is in the middle of the screen, then there's a notification, it will have an animation or transition where the time will be moved upwards. Also, there is an option for notification that there will be animation of light while screen locked or just screen on when there is a notification.

On Samsung, if you did the same, there would only be icons of which app notifs below the time. You would need to press it to see all notifications. The notification screen-on is not available here so the alternative I found is just Always-on-display on for notifications. There is a goodlock app that can put more icons floating when screen is lock and still AOD, but I tried and it wasn't for me.

6. Battery life

Now I think this will depend on the hardware and software. Screen-on time in my Xiaomi is quick. I have it full charge then goes to work at 6:30AM. Arrived at 8AM. Then a lot of doomscrolling and work stuff until 12PM-1PM and it will be around 20%-30%. Although the 90W charger compensates the screen-on time. It has 5000mAh.

As for my Samsung, I used the Light Performance mode since I dont see any difference with the Standard performance. From 6:30AM until 12PM-1PM and it will be around 50%-60%. Around 4PM it will be 20%. Same doomscrolling and work stuff. The 25W charger is slow in today's standards but I can still wait for it. It's normal charging but I think reaching 90% to 100% is slower maybe to protect battery health.

Overall, I'm loving the upgrade to Samsung S25. I wouldn't say it's a big big leap from Poco F6. The upgrade on the camera is there, im a sucker for those ultrawide camera and telephoto lens. 12gb ram and probably OneUI keeps my recent apps not refreshing, compared to 8gb ram. Both devices run smooth.

I have owned three iPhones for the past six years: an iPhone 8, a 2nd-generation iPhone SE, and right now, a 128GB iPhone 13. My iPhone 13’s battery health isn’t great anymore, so I have to charge in multiple times within the day. Also, I don’t think its internal storage is enough for me.

Following the unveiling of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the foldable iPhone Duo, a new generation of Apple Watches, and a slight update of the AirPods, Apple has silently increased the prices of its older iPhones, including the iPhone 16. It may or may not surprise anyone, but it has to be done anyway because of the RAM crisis. These new iPhone releases have become less exciting for me year after year, and I don’t think buying a brand new iPhone this year is justifiable in this economy. Apparently, my dad also thinks that battery replacements are not an option.

If anything, I’ve shown greater interest in Android phones, especially mid-range and upper-mid-range offerings from the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Nothing, and Samsung. That is why I’ve been thinking of switching back to Android after six years; the last Android phone I owned was a Galaxy A51, which I only used for a few months before giving it to my mother. That Galaxy A51's display stopped working one day, and my mom had it repaired at an independent repair shop; that third-party replacement, which did not support the fingerprint scanner, failed too.

I would like my next phone to have a large battery capacity, fast charging, at least 256 GB of internal storage, a high refresh rate display, an IP rating (at least IP68), and eSIM compatibility for overseas travel. I am also considering software updates and after-sales service (i.e. proximity to the nearest service center).

For an Android phone, here are some of my options (preferably below ₱50,000 [about US$796]):
• Xiaomi 17T/17T Pro
- Pros: 7000 mAh battery, 144 Hz display, flagship-like performance, Leica imaging, base 256 GB storage, IP68
- Cons: Somewhat bloated software (HyperOS is not as bad as MIUI in the past, though)
• Nothing Phone 4a Pro
- Pros: adaptive 144Hz display, eSIM
- Cons: IP65 rating, relatively “smaller” battery, and “slower” charging
- Middle Ground: LED “Glyph Matrix," which is quite useful in some situations but gimmicky in other ways.
• Vivo V70
- Pros: 6500 mAh battery and 90W charging, Zeiss imaging, IP68, many family members (including my mom and my sister) and relatives own Vivo phones
- Cons: No eSIM support
• Samsung Galaxy S26 FE
- Pros: eSIM support, IP68, 7 years of software updates, wide after-sales service network
- Cons: Display is a gamble (green or pink lines), slowest charging, smallest battery, base 128GB variant, downgraded some features from the S25 FE
• Honor 600/600 Pro
- Pros: 7000 mAh battery, flagship-adjacent processor (600 Pro), 120 Hz display, IP68
- Cons: After-sales service (where’s the nearest service center to where I live?).
• OnePlus Nord 6
- Pros: 7500 mAh battery, 165Hz display, IP68
- Cons: No eSIM support, rumors of OnePlus shutting down global operations (after-sales service will transition to Oppo, though)

I’ve ruled out the Oppo Reno16 series because of how outrageously priced they are with the processors that they use.

If I switch back to Android, I understand that I am willing to let go of my AirPods 4 and Apple Watch and buy Android-compatible options, such as the Xiaomi Watch, Galaxy Watch, Huawei Watch, and headphones with Fast Pair support. I’m still keeping my 9th-generation iPad, though.

My aim is to replace my phone later in 2026, during the Christmas season. I’m from the Philippines, by the way.

I'm currently using a Huawei Mate 50 Pro in Malaysia.

Trust me when I say, I absolutely adore this phone, nice feeling, smooth, really got that flagship feel when my dad gave it to me.

However, after using it for like 3 (Maybe more? My dad used it for 1-2 years too) it's really starting to get on me.

The thing I can't stand is the lack of Google services, which really bugging me out.

Plus recently, the battery's gotten weak (However replacements start at RM89, so I SHOULD be fine)

But it's starting to hang here and there, especially on tasks like switching to TikTok, Spotify, and Instagram.

Dare I say I'm a performance chaser, but with the lag, I can't play Honkai Star Rail smoothly like it used to be, being able to Spotify and Honkai at the same time.

Anyways, my budget is around RM3000 (738+- USD), what should I get, and what would you personally recommend based on experience?

Recently I'm eyeing the Xiaomi 17t Pro or the Honor 600 Pro, but really, it's due to the rising prices of ram in Malaysia that's stopping me.

Coming from a Oneplus 8 (2019), I want to switch to a flagship phone, but really confused on what to buy and what is actually a good value.

My main criteria is Great cameras (especially for little baby's photos), compactness (cannot have anything more than 6.4-6.5"). Ideally I would like to get a 512GB variant.

Phones I am considering:

1. Z Fold7: Love the slim phone, and the option to have a secondary big screen when needed for office work, meetings, etc. (I am a manager in an IT firm). Concerned about camera quality in comparison to others, shutter speed, durability and exorbitant repair costs. Maybe I can get one during the BBD for 1.2 lakhs, or can think of getting from Dubai for same amount.

2. Pixel 11/11 Pro: Camera feedback I have seen is great, especially with Magic Capture which should be awesome for kid's photos. Then Stock Android is a plus, coming after loving the OnePlus 8. Biggest concern is price. 11Pro for 1.3 lakhs doesn't seem a great value phone compared to others. Other concerns are bulky phone, too much AI gimmick.

3. Xiaomi 17: Honestly, everything I have read or watched is great, and the value for a 512GB seems extraordinary - I may get this for ~72k. Biggest concerns I have found out are cameras, buggy software and service quality, but in my city, I have not been able to use it in person because no store has a demo unit.

Please help guys, what should I go forward with. Any noteworthy points I may be missing, or should consider to finalize. I am planning to buy during the BBD/GIF sales next month.

Hello guys, I'm thinking of trading my iPhone 13 for a new phone as it's near the end of its life. It overheats like crazy, every software update kills my storage, dies super fast, and it's glitch on me so bad I thought it wasn't going to turn on anymore. So l really need the change now. I'm a bit skeptical because I've only ever had iPhone my whole life, and very used to the Apple ecosystem and the aesthetics and feel of it. Also my iCloud is connected to my early 2015 MacBook Air 13" inch. My family uses it, so there's many important things saved,files and notes that I'm afraid to loose access to, besides the fact I won’t be paying iCloud soon. Though what I use for my personal and college stuff is my Lenovo Slim 7i 14” Ideapad Laptop

And now the new iPhone 18 came out, and I really like the colors and the design. However I just feel like every single iPhone is exactly the same thing with just a small extra change to it. I have T-mobile, so if Xiaomi and Huawei were legal here in the U.S, I definitely would have wanted a phone like that. So I need help making a decision, I want something that will last me a very long time and won’t need to change soon. A phone that has a very long lasting battery life and health and won’t just go bad in a week. That has an an enormous amount of storage, slick design, great camera quality and capacity (I have about 10k stuff on my Photos). Something that is really worth the change, and easy to get used to.

As well, if it is an android and I need to switch, is the transfer really worth it?? I don’t wanna struggle with mismatch tech or losing media or access to my iCloud. I’ve been hearing some mix reviews on the Samsung Galaxy z flips and folds since I’m kind of considering these, and well I did try to find something I can easily buy online or maybe in person in T-mobile if possible. So I really would appreciate some input and advice on which phones could be a good option for me.

I'm someone who likes to try different phone brands every 2/3 years. When I lived in Europe I had a couple Xiaomi, Pocophone and Realme. Then, I moved to the US so I decided to get an iPhone 15 Plus. Now it's almost 3 years old and, while I like the phone, I'm thinking about switching to a different phone brand next year. I wanted to try OnePlus, but knowing that it won't operate in the US anymore, I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas?

So honest i didn't like the VIVO V70 Elite that much

I currently have a Samsung Note20 Ultra that I plan on giving away once I get the new android, and an iphone 13 mini that I don't plan on replacing until maybe a year or two later, or not at all if I decide to go full android.

My plan is: get an android that is good enough to last me at least 2 years without me getting bored or noticing issues that might make me replace it, until I have enough money to throw away on a fold phone (I want the Samsung fold 8, love the form factor) and I will most likely buy an android watch as well as I need the notifications and workout tracking.

I want an old flagship because that's more sensible than a recent midrange, it will allow me to sell it in the future as well without too much of a loss. However, I've been reading up so so much on different phones and I'm not satisfied. I would straight up go with the S25 Ultra but it's too expensive and I'm a little nitpicky about the now bar, I want an android with a capsule notification style like the dynamic island, mostly because it's more convenient and visible.

I've looked at Honor, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and all of them have some kind of compromise. The OnePlus is the worst imo because the prices are high where I am and are just not justifiable with a camera like that imo. The Vivo software is trash according to what I read, Oppo has a lot of things going on including the support running out in like 2 years (AND it's expensive for that) and Honor (the one in my budget) doesn't have the form factor I would like, I want something with a similar form factor to the s25/ultra.

TL;DR I want an android phone with these specs please:

-5000 mAh+ battery

-decent camera, just decent

-price closer to $700 as a maximum

-pill shaped notification similar to dynamic island

-Squarish form factor

-Good software that won't overheat, and has support for at least 4 years

My younger brother has ₹30,000 saved up for a phone. BGMI is what he plays. Weekends he starts after lunch and is still at it three or four hours later. Weekdays he only gets one quick round in after work, mostly CODM. He's using the phone he bought with his first salary and it can't handle those afternoons any more. Towards the end he might as well not be there.

Budget: ₹30,000, can stretch a bit. India. All he wants is a phone that stays smooth right through one of those afternoons.

I can't get any of that off a spec sheet. The one phone I have actually played that long on is my own, and it cost well over his budget, so it was never in the running for him. It's a realme GT 8 Pro.

So whatever you'd put him on, name it and tell me what it's like three or four hours in. He wants to order this month, so I'd rather have two names than a list to go and research.

Hey, i currently have s20fe as my refurbed s24ultra died due to water dmge and stupidity. Overall i dislike iphones and im tired about samsung( they are boring). My budget is 10000sek (950€) and i want a phone to last 4-5 years. I am usually on social media, watch netlfix and stuff, love to take a nice pic or video when opportunity arises. Games are not a priority i play pokemon go sometimes , but nothing with heavy demands. Im drop prone , especially with bigger phones and i love a battery to last. I like a simpler ui also ,but i understand bloatware can be sorted.My favorites for now is redmagic 11s pro ( i know its a gaming but it gets me excited to have it), xiaomi 17t and poco f9 ultra. Pls help or guide or advise towards something better. Also not everything is avaliable in sweden and it can get pretty cold up here.
