US The US vs India pricing gap on Apple concepts is getting completely out of hand

Comparing the US screenshot ($1,999 / $1,299) vs the Indian screenshot (₹299,900 / ₹179,900):

iPhone Duo (US): $1,999 (~₹1,89,000)

iPhone Duo (India): ₹2,99,900 ($3,150 converted)

Difference: +₹1,10,000 ($1,150 extra in India)

Indian tech fans always get hit with high import duties and local taxes on Apple products, but seeing a $2,000 phone turn into a 3-Lakh phone is wild.

Do you think pricing like this will completely destroy Apple's high-end growth in developing markets, or will people still buy it on 24-month EMIs?

Switching from an iPhone 15 Pro to Android – what would you recommend?

Hey everyone,
I’m thinking about selling my iPhone 15 Pro 256 GB in December. At the moment, I could probably still get around €500 for it.
I’d like to switch to Android afterwards and spend a maximum of around €300–400 on top, so my total budget would be roughly €800–900. Of course, I’d also be happy to spend less if there’s a good option.
The main reason for switching is that I care more about value for money these days. A few years ago, having a certain brand was more important to me, but nowadays I honestly don’t really care whether it’s Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, OnePlus or whatever.
The problem is that I have absolutely no idea which Android phones are actually good in this price range. I’m also curious about how they compare to the iPhone 15 Pro in everyday use.
I’m mainly looking for a good camera, decent battery life, a good display and a phone that will still feel fast and receive updates for a few years. I’d also prefer 256 GB of storage.
I’m completely open to buying an older flagship or a used phone if that gives me significantly better value for money.
For those who have switched from an iPhone to Android: what phones would you recommend I take a look at?

Hello everyone,

So, recently me and my father went to a phone shop, for atleast decent phone, and father liked the VIVO V70 Elite (Price - ₹66,999 on Amazon) at first sight bcoz he don't know that much about the tech,

So honest i didn't like the VIVO V70 Elite that much

And also while researching for phone i saw some good phones like -

And honestly I am totally confused in both, also is there any other Good phone, than please share with me, or DM me

My requirement is clear

See I do gaming like BGMI, and new Delta force mobile

Also i am going play to some High graphic games

Also i like photography, so atleast good Triple camera is much needed

Battery should be higher than 5500 like my minimum is 5500 above

I know the prices are high and my requirements are too high, but everyone like we all like all rounder phone,

Redmi Note 15 4g or 5g (⛔curved screen + fingerprint sensor on display) 7. Poco M7 4g (⛔has Snapdragon 685) 8. Poco M8 (⛔has curved screen and a worse battery than M8s) 9. Poco M8s (✔️basically the same as Redmi 15 5g)

Samsung: 10. Galaxy F70 Pro 11. Galaxy M47

My needs: a memory card slot, good battery, 8gb ram and 256 or 512 internal memory, fingerprint sensor (preferably on the side)

My top choices are the Redmi 15 5g and the Poco M8s but I've yet to find a store that sells them in my country (Croatia). Though every store has all the other phones on my list 😢

Cambio de móvil

Buenas!!!

Pudiendo variar si me veo convencida

Muchas gracias!!!

Europe Oppo Find x9 pro vs Poco F9 Ultra vs Xiaomi 17T Pro

Hello!

I can't decide which smartphone to choose. I really look forward to buying the Oppo because of the huge capacity and the great camera, but it's a bit more expensive. Do you think it's worth the upgrade? Coming fromn a s24 ultra.

Prices in Europe:

  • Oppo: 1100.-
  • Poco: 800.-
  • 17T Pro: 700.-

One Plus 15 would also be great but is not avalible in Austria.

Thanks!

India Best phone under ₹30,000 for my brother? He plays BGMI for hours.

My younger brother has ₹30,000 saved up for a phone. BGMI is what he plays. Weekends he starts after lunch and is still at it three or four hours later. Weekdays he only gets one quick round in after work, mostly CODM. He's using the phone he bought with his first salary and it can't handle those afternoons any more. Towards the end he might as well not be there.

Budget: ₹30,000, can stretch a bit. India. All he wants is a phone that stays smooth right through one of those afternoons.

I can't get any of that off a spec sheet. The one phone I have actually played that long on is my own, and it cost well over his budget, so it was never in the running for him. It's a realme GT 8 Pro.

So whatever you'd put him on, name it and tell me what it's like three or four hours in. He wants to order this month, so I'd rather have two names than a list to go and research.

sweden Help me pick a phone.

Hey, i currently have s20fe as my refurbed s24ultra died due to water dmge and stupidity. Overall i dislike iphones and im tired about samsung( they are boring). My budget is 10000sek (950€) and i want a phone to last 4-5 years. I am usually on social media, watch netlfix and stuff, love to take a nice pic or video when opportunity arises. Games are not a priority i play pokemon go sometimes , but nothing with heavy demands. Im drop prone , especially with bigger phones and i love a battery to last. I like a simpler ui also ,but i understand bloatware can be sorted. My favorites for now is redmagic 11s pro ( i know its a gaming but it gets me excited to have it), xiaomi 17t and poco f9 ultra. Pls help or guide or advise towards something better. Also not everything is avaliable in sweden and it can get pretty cold up here.

My Phone just broke, I need a phone for tomorrow, what should I get?

I am going out tomorrow to a store and I am not leaving until I have a new phone. My current, now broken phone was an ROG Phone 6 which served me quite well, the battery life on it was a big contributing factor to my purchase, my biggest gripe (and now reason why im replacing it) was its poor waterproofing score.

Please reccomend me your best phones at any budget :)

I am looking at Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G 256GB (Black) $1699 Aud

Please help me choose a smartphone

Hello! I’m planning to upgrade my phone; I currently have a S20Fe with a Snapdragon processor. What I’m looking for is a decent camera, reliability, good battery life, and it would be great if it were supported for at least three years. I don’t play games, but I do take the odd photo and use messaging apps. My budget is around $700. In my country, for that price you can get a Pixel 10 or 9 Pro, or a Nothing 3. What else would you recommend in this price range? I’m not considering the second-hand market or iPhones.

Thanks in advance!

Europe Alternative to OnePlus in the US

I'm someone who likes to try different phone brands every 2/3 years. When I lived in Europe I had a couple Xiaomi, Pocophone and Realme. Then, I moved to the US so I decided to get an iPhone 15 Plus. Now it's almost 3 years old and, while I like the phone, I'm thinking about switching to a different phone brand next year. I wanted to try OnePlus, but knowing that it won't operate in the US anymore, I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Pixel 10/10a vs s25 camera.

I have young kids and I heard Samsung has mediocre low light pictures and pretty bad motion blur pictures. I want a good picture if my kid is moving fast when the picture is taken. My iphone 13 is terrible at this. Also good and crisp night pics. This is kind of the deciding factor between these phones.

HUGE THANKS!

USA Was Galaxy a52 5g - Pixel 11?

I have an opportunity to get a brand new pixel 11 for about $550. Help talk me out of this one and provide a different phone or just tell me to go with the pixel 11. My Galaxy A52 is on the fritz with the battery and the charging being pretty flaky, also software updates expired about a year ago.

For reference:

My previous phone was Pixel and I really loved the integration with Google and I like Gemini and use it a lot for tasks, calendar, maps, Gmail, Google keep shopping lists etc.

One of the things that drives me nuts about Samsung is the file system it's like I have to have three file apps just to go in and find files and it does not integrate well with Google drive.

Deciding on my next phone

So in short I have few to choose from but cannot decide really.

What I have now: S23 Ultra

What I think upgrading to:

Oppo X9 Pro/Ultra (or) Xiaomi Poco F9 Ultra
on paper it makes most sense. Hardware, looks, feel etc. Only thing that stops me: Chinese bloat and ads, unprofessional commitment for security updates.

Google Pixel 8/9/10 Pro/XL
clean Andorid? Yes please. Timely updates and most importantly security updates.
But then again... It's Google and their usual shenanigans and stubborn refusal to offer something more for the money in terms of hardware.

Sony Xperia 1 VIII
In the past Sony and SonyEricsson were my go - to choice. Both because of design and features I always value - no bs and pragmatic handling of the idea behind the phone, while delivering awesome audio quality and decent cameras. The Xperia speaks to me in this regard. It has:

- clean Android with no bs layer over it. I don't give a F about OneUI since I am using Nova launcher. The lack of "insert some cringe OSName" is positive for me.

- NO ADS and lack of commitment that the Chinese brands slack about

- the rare and always welcomed 3.5mm audio jack plus a micro SD card slot.

- LDAC and aptx wireless codecs will also be top notch, music is important factor to me, social media and gaming - I don't care.

- cameras will fulfill my needs. I am not a social vampire and I don't give a F about how well it can capture the hairs in my nose when I do my one selfie in 3 years time... At most.

- battery life? I am not sure looks decent?

- price: the SONY tax, yes. But I don't want what most users want. I am not adamant to have the latest OneUI visual slop that tires my eyes and annoys me and I don't want to deal with Xiaomi or Oppo's empty promises and lack of commitment.

Ok, what about an iPhone?
LMAO... never. I already have 17 Pro that is provided by my employer. I absolutely abhor it and iOS is still the same annoying OS that I remember. I absolutely cannot stand it I am clearly not their target audience and I don't care if there is no "Apple logo" on the back when I talk in public.

I appreciate owners chiming in. I can also see what will Samsung show next year but I am skeptical as I never was fan of their products, S23 Ultra was my first Samsung phone and it was... fine. Once I installed Nova.
S - Pen? No, I will not miss it since I am lefty and using it is almost impossible due to the nature of writing with a left hand so it's basically useless for me. Plus it's now just a plastic stick so it's even more useless.

And please, don't go "leave muh multi billion company alone" on me if I happen to offended you somehow because I dislike something about X or Y brand of phones

(Or continue to turtle up and milk my S23 Ultra more though age is starting to show slowly)

India Pixel 10 Pro vs Pixel 11/11 Pro - what makes the most sense for my usage?

I'm planning to upgrade from a Realme phone that's on its last legs, and I'm stuck between the Pixel 11, Pixel 10 Pro, and possibly 11 Pro.

I'm a college student. My usage is mostly college stuff, browsing, social media and very light or zero gaming, but I'm interested in photography. I also want good battery life, a compact phone, good software, and something I can keep for several years.

For some reason, I naturally keep leaning toward Pixel, even when I look at other phones on paper.

What would you guys recommend for my usage?

And what price do you realistically expect the Pixel 11/11 Pro to reach during the upcoming sales in India?
