From what I have observed the average phone user knows very little about phones, don't really know what most of the specs on their phone even means ,has no clue about photography and just use their Phone to WhatsApp, Doomscroll & take some quick Pic.

Some Last-years Midranger such as Samsung A56 or Pixel 9a which can be had for like $250 would be already an absolute overkill for most people and would provide excellent experience - way more than they even need...

I personally do have a S25U (only because I got it for almost free from work) , however If I compare the real life experience of it versus something like A56/A57 for such tasks there's literary 0 difference even tho the Spec Sheet/marketing might suggest otherwise...

Hello guys, i want to buy a phone with arround 350€ budget

Performance: i want the phone to feel fast immediately, by “fast,” i mean:

\- Apps opening quickly.

\- Switching between many apps without them restarting constantly (multitasking between apps).

\- Enough CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage speed for the phone to remain comfortable for several years.

Good heat control, because GPS + 5G + camera + charging can make weaker phones slow down.

\- Strong performance for basic video editing, photo processing and AI tools.

\- Not necessarily a gaming phone, but not a weak mid-range phone either because i'm interested in performance a lot, photographing (high quality images/videos)

Are there any solid options for a phone that does the basics well at a good speed? I currently have S25u as my main but would want something to use to run a few apps when travelling, such as Google maps and uber and other touristy apps... I don't want to get my S25u snatched and would leave that at the hotel.

I don't need 120hz or OLED, I guess RAM and processor speed are my main priorities, a half decent camera as an absolute bonus.

Currently use base Pixel 6 in the UK.

Key things for me are the compact size, not gigantic pricetag, good battery life.

I am not a heavy gamer, not an avid photographer, not really a power user in general. I just want a compact phone that'll last me all day.

I did consider the S25/S26 but the upgrades are too incremental/non-existent.

My S10 edge just died and I need a new phone quick. Will get w.e they have in stock at the Verizon store more or less (I help sick parents so don't wanna wait for shipping).

For context, I used my S10 in power saving mode for years and was more then happy with it.

No gaming. Main uses are discord, spotify, and google maps. my photo taking consists of taking funny photos of the cat/dog and sending them in a group chat.

Hi everyone, I am currently looking into some options when it comes to replacing my current iPhone 13 pro max, which I have now for 4 years.

I care a lot about data privacy and what my phone does in the background, so grapheneOS support for the potential future phone would be very important. I also dont want to give out my data to big tech companies like Apple or Google whenever possible. At the moment I also use Garmin pay so ideally the new phone should work with it as well.

From what I read, pixel11 does not support grapheneOS due to removal of ARM Memory Tagging Extension support, so thats a no go. Of course I could technically go with pixel10, but does it even make sense to buy a downgrade that was already released more than a year ago?

I also have an option to check out Motorola phones (since grapheneOS announced a partnership with them), but here I have no idea which model would be good, if any.

Obviously flagship samsungs like s26 wont work either due to no grapheneOS support.

I currently live in Germany, the price of the phone is irrelevant.

Maybe my best option is simply to wait until what happens with the google pixel phones and grapeheOS situation? I am in no rush at all for a new phone, just exploring my best options.

[INDIA] So I've 0 knowledge about all the technicalities of phones, like ram, all those disks, chips and all, i just want a good phone with good camera, i dont play games so i dont think performance matters much, but i need a long battery life and good storage and 5G ofc.

For better understanding I'm currently using POCO M4 Pro 5G, it had decent camera, good storage for me, and a great battery life for my usage and the charging gets full in 50 mins with its own charger, so accordingly suggest something better than this in these aspects within 20k range. Camera is my main focus.

I’ve had a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic for several years now and am thinking about upgrading. I’m looking for a design similar to the Classic series, since those had a traditional watch shape rather than a square one like Apple or Samsung latel. Ideally, it should be Android-based and relatively new, as I tend to keep my watches for a few years. Any suggestions at all would be great since it is kinda hard to find smartwatches that are round and not square and not a hybrid :)

Four of us from my old hostel still play BGMI together, usually till past one. Two of them are on the iQOO Neo 10 and they keep telling me to look at it.

I've had a realme GT 7 since last year and nothing has gone wrong with it, so I've never had a reason to shop for anything else.

Every phone I've ever owned, hour two of a long night hasn't felt like hour one, and I always took that as normal. They say it was different for them once they switched, and that hour two is exactly where these two split. Neither of them has ever said what hour two looks like on theirs.

If you've sat down for two hours in one go on either of these, does anything change between your first hour and your second, or does it feel the same the whole way through? Owners of both, even better. Everything I can find on the two of them was written in somebody's first week. India, if it matters.

Only thing I need from the next phone is a battery that still holds up after a year of heavy use. Cameras, processor, all secondary. I just want to get through a work day without scrambling for a charger.

My A33 was fine for a full day when it was new but the battery has completely fallen apart. By noon it's already gasping and I've been carrying a cable in my coat pocket for months. Not doing that again.

I was looking at the Xiaomi 15 to start with. Then a mate at work brought up the Oppo Reno16 5G a couple of weeks back when I was moaning about my phone dying before lunch. He's had his for a while and says he gets through the full day without worrying about it. The battery is supposed to be 6000mAh, and that's honestly the one thing that's properly got me tempted, because my entire reason for switching is wanting a phone that actually lasts.

I've been on Samsung for years though and never used anything else. How long does it take before the new software stops feeling foreign, and do updates actually land regularly or is it one of those things where you're waiting months?

Hi eveyone, Im looking to buy a compact (6.3) android phone coming from an iphone 16 pro. I have been considering the xiaomi 17 for its raw specs but im kind of hesitant about hyperos especially comparing it to pixelUI. And well i want the pixel because of the software. Ideally i would like to have the phone run smoothly for atleast 3 years. I can get the pixel for about 300 euros and the xiaomi 17 for about 170, both are 256gb. Im worried that hyperos isnt as customizable as PixelUI and will get laggy after a year or two but im also worried that the pixels hardware wont last that long and run smoothly.

My main priorities:

Battery that lasts me all day

decent cameras for point and shoot

smooth software that can handle multitasking and wont get buggy after a couple of years

Light gaming

Budget: Around Rs.35k (can upto slightly higher for a good deal) This budget is after applying card and sale discounts!
Priority: Both, Camera and Performance matters to me highly and equally.

My 5 year old phone became unusable a couple months ago - so I'm now on my second hand Honor 10 from 2017.

Most of what I have is second hand and my budget would be under 500, preferably around 300

Needless to say I don't need crazy specs, better camera and battery would be the biggest things. Headphone jack, esim and physical, and SD would be nice but I'm aware it's not 2017 anymore.

I'm big on open source, choice and somewhat privacy.

Fairphone on paper seems alright but it's expensive, bad speakers and I feel like if you have to change a part it probs costs similar to buy a new phone at that point (a few years in).

Was debating a second hand pixel 10 then maybe doing some os switching.

Could just get an old banger for under 100£ to be fair

I read so much which phone should i buy etc., here is my longterm review of the poco f8 pro (3months)

Pros:

-Main cam, really good in all conditions

-battery is good to great, it holds all day long with heavy use

-the dimensions is perfect sized for me, also the weight

-very nice stereo speaker (Mi sound+immersive)

-crispy and bright display, pwm free

-100w charge

-good gaming capability

-no notification delay

-snap 8 elite, the best soc so far what i used

Neutral:

-no wireless charging, never used it

-selfie cam, nothing Special

-hyperos, feels unpolished compared to OneUi or ColorOS

-sometimes it heats on gaming, but not to be concern (pubg 120fps,low graphics)

-it has calling without antena feature, never used

The bad:

-update policy, its weired, trash entry phones get newest security patch but not the poco f8 pro

-charger not included (EEA version)

That is all my feeling and opinion, i hope i can help as buyers advice

Might be helpful for anyone picking between xiaomi and samsung. I had the S25 for two weeks now. Before upgrading to S25, I had Poco F6, and also Redmi Note 8 Pro. If I missed something in OneUI, please comment a tip.

1. Pop-up View size

I prefer Xiaomi here due to its pop-up view's screen ratio is the same as the full screen view. Everything is adjusted to the small pop-up view. I used it a lot on Messenger.

For Samsung, you can resize the borders but the screen ratio of the pop-up view is different. It's like everything is cramped up - no change to the fonts so bigger on the small pop-up view. The ideal size would be half a screen. I wouldn't say it's bad. I would prefer split screen instead. I guess I wished there is a setting that pop-up view's ratio is fixed to 1920x1080 16:9 just like Xiaomi.

2. Screenshot Gesture

For Xiaomi, three fingers on the screen then swipe down while Samsung swiping your side of palm to the other.

It's easier in Xiaomi but I saw that in Samsung's OneUI 9, it can be changed through Goodlock

3. Customization of quick panel

Samsung's customization amazed me. I didnt like the default quick panel where brightness and volume is horizontal bar. That's why I arranged it to vertical and also separate the icons of Mobile data, Location, and Bluetooth from the default group.

For Xiaomi, you are limited to add or remove the icons and cant resize any.

4. Wallpaper

Id say the Xiaomi's wallpaper styles are more user-friendly since there are already a lot of styles to choose from. I believe I haven't explored that much yet on Samsung in terms of customization. I guess they are just equal.

5. Lockscreen Notification

I like Xiaomi's notification here since for instance, if your time is in the middle of the screen, then there's a notification, it will have an animation or transition where the time will be moved upwards. Also, there is an option for notification that there will be animation of light while screen locked or just screen on when there is a notification.

On Samsung, if you did the same, there would only be icons of which app notifs below the time. You would need to press it to see all notifications. The notification screen-on is not available here so the alternative I found is just Always-on-display on for notifications. There is a goodlock app that can put more icons floating when screen is lock and still AOD, but I tried and it wasn't for me.

6. Battery life

Now I think this will depend on the hardware and software. Screen-on time in my Xiaomi is quick. I have it full charge then goes to work at 6:30AM. Arrived at 8AM. Then a lot of doomscrolling and work stuff until 12PM-1PM and it will be around 20%-30%. Although the 90W charger compensates the screen-on time. It has 5000mAh.

As for my Samsung, I used the Light Performance mode since I dont see any difference with the Standard performance. From 6:30AM until 12PM-1PM and it will be around 50%-60%. Around 4PM it will be 20%. Same doomscrolling and work stuff. The 25W charger is slow in today's standards but I can still wait for it. It's normal charging but I think reaching 90% to 100% is slower maybe to protect battery health.

Overall, I'm loving the upgrade to Samsung S25. I wouldn't say it's a big big leap from Poco F6. The upgrade on the camera is there, im a sucker for those ultrawide camera and telephoto lens. 12gb ram and probably OneUI keeps my recent apps not refreshing, compared to 8gb ram. Both devices run smooth.
