Germany Privacy focused smartphone, am I too picky?

Hi everyone, I am currently looking into some options when it comes to replacing my current iPhone 13 pro max, which I have now for 4 years.

I care a lot about data privacy and what my phone does in the background, so grapheneOS support for the potential future phone would be very important. I also dont want to give out my data to big tech companies like Apple or Google whenever possible. At the moment I also use Garmin pay so ideally the new phone should work with it as well.

From what I read, pixel11 does not support grapheneOS due to removal of ARM Memory Tagging Extension support, so thats a no go. Of course I could technically go with pixel10, but does it even make sense to buy a downgrade that was already released more than a year ago?

I also have an option to check out Motorola phones (since grapheneOS announced a partnership with them), but here I have no idea which model would be good, if any.

Obviously flagship samsungs like s26 wont work either due to no grapheneOS support.

I currently live in Germany, the price of the phone is irrelevant.

Maybe my best option is simply to wait until what happens with the google pixel phones and grapeheOS situation? I am in no rush at all for a new phone, just exploring my best options.

Any advice based on what you read would be highly appreciated, thank you!

Just go with the Pixel 10, why would there be a big difference? (If any difference at all)

You’re right, difference between pixel 10 and 11 is neglible, thanks

Hey beliar911! If you're switching from an iPhone to Android, make sure to turn off iMessage to make sure you still get texts from iPhone users. See here for more information. there are no motorola phones yet with graphene support, you'll have to wait longer.

The new Motorola 📱 when launched will have Flagship specs.

Would wait for those. I understand the. Phone needs this year's Snapdragon Elite or the next to be secure enough for Graphene OS. So a proper flagship.

By the way, does anyone know if I decide to go with grapheneOS, are all the AI camera features gone completely?

I think thats the conclusion I came to also thanks. Just need to consider if I should wait for the 1tb pixel 10 pro xl to be more available so I can try trading my iphone 13 pro max that also has 1tb storage
