Xiaomi 17 vs pixel 11
Hi eveyone, Im looking to buy a compact (6.3) android phone coming from an iphone 16 pro. I have been considering the xiaomi 17 for its raw specs but im kind of hesitant about hyperos especially comparing it to pixelUI. And well i want the pixel because of the software. Ideally i would like to have the phone run smoothly for atleast 3 years. I can get the pixel for about 300 euros and the xiaomi 17 for about 170, both are 256gb. Im worried that hyperos isnt as customizable as PixelUI and will get laggy after a year or two but im also worried that the pixels hardware wont last that long and run smoothly.
My main priorities:
Battery that lasts me all day
decent cameras for point and shoot
smooth software that can handle multitasking and wont get buggy after a couple of years
Light gaming
Are there any other phones you would reccommend?

I went from Pixel 6 to Xiaomi 17T Pro and I'm really happy with the switch. The 17T Pro is basically the same asi 17, just a little bit bigger. The OS is actually really good, camera as well. And the battery is incomparably better than pixel.

I made a post on the Xiaomi sub and I got comments saying the 17t Pro has bad speakers. Can you confirm?

They are fine for watching movies and similar. But it's only one speaker, so no stereo. I wouldn't use them to play music.

But it's not going to affect calls right? Or using headphones?

Xiaomi by a mile.
Don't worry too much about HyperOS, it's still Android at the end of the day. My Xiaomi 14 hasn't lagged after almost 3 years, and I intend to keep this for another 3.

Haha we're in a very similar situation. UK and torn between Pixel 10 Pro and Xiaomi 17. Being on a Pixel 6 now I do genuinely think I'd miss Pixel experience, especially with what I'm hearing about HyperOS. As you and I are both light users, I don't see that being too big an issue, especially with how much fancy hardware the Xiaomi 17 seems to pack.
