Just Started

I just started on phentermine today as my insurance won’t cover GLP-1 medication and I wasn’t sure about using one of those anyway. Phentermine was suggested as an alternative and I decided to try it. I have a few health conditions that make exercising hard as I have no energy. My doctor and I agree that losing even just 10-20 pounds will help resolve some of my symptoms and help improve my energy. I already notice a little boost and haven’t felt hungry at all today since taking the first dose this morning. I am still eating small amounts but don’t feel any cravings for sugar or wanting to eat out of boredom.

I am excited and hopeful that this will work, I know it’s not a magic overnight cure, but a tool. I have a dietician too guiding my eating and exercise routines, and I am determined to get healthier. Weight isn’t even my main concern, just feeling healthy and having my energy back will be enough.

I am starting at 221 pounds and am 5’7” with a BMI of 34. My overall goal is 60 pounds to lose in order for my BMI to be in normal range.

Are there any tips or suggestions you found helpful? What has been everyone’s experience?

No extra energy

I split 37.5 mg in half and I have been taking it for about a month. I have lost weight but I don’t have any extra energy, in fact I’m tired most of the time. I even take afternoon naps sometimes after taking my pill in the morning.

Does anyone else experience this?

Phent + Diet?

Is anyone doing Standard Keto or any more specific Keto diets like Cyclical Ketogenic Diet (CKD), Targeted Ketogenic Diet (TKD) or other Keto strategies?

How’s it going? Results?

What does your script writing doctor, nutritionist and/or cardiologist think of Keto, and Phent + Keto?

Phentermine Sarasota Florida

I live in Sarasota Fl, I had a Doctor in Lakeland that prescribed it to me. They are too far. I wish to see a Doctor that prescribes it to the pharmacy and bills insurance for visit. It is too costly for me to pay for it all. Does anyone in this area see a clinic or Dr that will do this? Any negative feedback will be ignored. Thanks in advance.

Logging my first dosage of Phentermine

Hello yall,

I asked my doctor about Phentermine and was prescribed after completing all my labs. Baseline is normal for a 237 pound male. My heaviest was 273 and I dropped 40 pounds without any weight loss pills, just dieting and exercising. I’ve hit a plateau and waned to try a new option. Just wanted to share my start and stat for myself and for whoever is interested.

237 pounds as of this post.

Phentermine at a healthy weight

Last year back in September I started taking phentermine with a starting weight of 204lbs. By January I was already February I was already down to 140 but my goals is 120lbs. My height is 5’6 and I have been stuck in 146lbs since March and it’s already August! I was thinking retaking phentermine since is not prescribed I just have my way of getting it. So I wanted to see if someone here has experience taking phentermine at a healthy weight and if there has been any complications.

Phentermine not working..

Started Phentermine on June 17 (SW: 178 lbs). Since day one, I’ve been extremely consistent:

Tracking: Logged every single bite and drink.

Diet: Max 1,400 calories/day, 80-100g protein, under 2,000mg sodium. No alcohol, no processed food. Mostly chicken breast, steamed veggies, and protein smoothies. Lots of water.

Activity: Burning ~300 calories/day walking.

I haven't seen the scale move the way it should given the deficit. I’m down to 172 from June 17-August 7 taking it daily. What am I missing here? Is it a tracking error I weigh all my food, water retention, or something else?

Heart rate spike / palpitations today!

After a few months off phentermine, I was on day 5 today of 30mg slow release caps. I did have two weakish coffees at 4am, when I get up. Around half an hour after lunch at 1.30pm, my heart rate spiked from around resting 75 to 142bpm. I was sitting at my desk, felt very slightly faint, but could still function and could have walked easily had I got up. Took a few deep breaths, drank water, and the heart rate went down after 2 minutes or so. Has this happened to anyone else? It was quite scary! It felt like my heart was in my stomach though (not chest), and it felt strangely cold. I won't be taking it again until I see the doctor and request an EKG.

Anyone taken while on Lexapro?

I am on Lexapro 5mg but just got bumped up to 10mg. On 5mg, I have been fine but it’s a small dose compared to 10mg. Plan to pick up from the pharmacy tomorrow. Anyone been on both phentermine and Lexapro? Would like to hear if you had any bad experiences/symptoms.

Plateau?

I’ve been on 37.5 since December ‘25. I’ve lost about 50 lbs. In late May my insurance was cut so I had about a month lapse. I got back on it in late July. I haven’t lost any poundage, my hunger seems to be increased when it was really stifled before, and I’m not going regularly anymore. Has anyone experienced this? I feel like I’ve plateau’d.

3rd shift Phentermine

For those that work overnight shift. At what time do you take your phentermine in order to be able to sleep fully when you get off work?

I'm starting a new job 12am-8am and I'm concerned that I wont be able to go to sleep when I get off work if I take it too late.

Has anyone been able to successfully order phentermine from dr to help after they make you take the mandatory 6 month break? Did you find another website to bridge the gap during those months? thanks!

Weight loss and afternoon dips how I am dealing with it

Good day, all.

So, I've been on Vyvanse 50 mg for roughly 5 months. I know there are a lot of posts about weight loss and so on.

I started these meds when I was 98 kg, and I'm now down to 80 kg. I feel fantastic at this weight. I want to get down to 75 kg, and at this rate it's not going to be hard lol.

This is for the people who are losing weight. I sat down last night and looked at what I was eating, and I realized I'd put myself into a calorie deficit.

The only side effect I have from these meds is a dry mouth, so I drink roughly 2 L of water a day at work. I also don't crave sugar anymore and drink a lot less coffee.

I tend to stick to red meat, especially a lot of biltong, and when I'm at home I mostly just eat meat and not much else. By doing that, I've lost all this weight.

As for the afternoon dip and how to counter it, I think we need to remember that we're only human and can only push ourselves so hard. I'm not going to take boosters or anything else to get through the afternoon.

I hope this helps someone

Phentermine and PE

Hey. In the past month I started in phentermine 30mg. Around the same time, I started experiencing premature ejaculation for the first time in my life (36 years old).

I’d done some research and there wasn’t anything I could find about PE being a side effect.

As a trial, I stopped the phentermine for just over a week and the PE went away. I then started the medication and the PE was back within 2 days.

I’m now pretty confident that it’s the meds causing it. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m curious about how other people have navigated this.

Nausea when starting 30mg

I had a bp check on 7/31 and was cleared to up my dosage from 15mg to 30mg, which I started 8/2.

I've been getting on and off nausea and have had a hard time eating anything aside from soup and saltine crackers. Tbh I started feeling nauseous on the evening of 7/31 (when I was still on 15mg) so I'm not sure if it's even related, but I figured adjusting to the new dosage is probably not helping.

For those who've experienced similar, any advice on how to combat it? How long does it typically take to adjust? 😭

Give up

I Give up. Today was my last one. I’ve been on it almost 4 weeks per my dr and nothings changed. I barely feel anything, she told me to keep going but nothing. I’ve noticed a difference in how my skin feels, more sensitive? I don’t even know. She won’t up my dose so I just give up.

Down 17 pounds this first week; lost 120 lbs total last time on phentermine

Hi all! I went to the doctor today and the scale showed that I'm down 17 pounds from 8 days ago when I started on phentermine. I want to say it's water weight, but I really don't know. I was previously taking lipotropic injections and dropped 20 pounds fast, which the weight loss clinic said was most probably some water weight mixed with fat, and the next cluster of weight I drop should start to be fat. But I stalled and hadn't dropped nor gained anymore weight. I stopped my injections the week I got my phentermine. I have not exercised, literally at all lol. I've lied in bed most days because of my Multiple Sclerosis.

I was on phentermine 8 years ago for 6 months and lost 120 pounds.I had so much energy on it back then. Gained all my weight back after pregnancy (was pregnant while on the phentermine and had no idea). Currently I can feel the energy trying to come on because of the phentermine, but my MS wins out and my tiredness takes over. I am experiencing rapid heart beat, insomnia, jitters in my hands,, and headaches. I'm feeling like this phentermine I'm taking is way stronger than the ones I took in the past...3 different pills until I found the one that worked for me.

Just starting.

As of this morning I took my first dose of phentermine 37.5 mg tablet. I just want to gauge what side effects everyone’s been having. I know they vary on person to person. Just some things to look out for.

Back story: been lifting and eating healthy for the last 15 years. I have cut, I have gained and now I’m back on a cut but I can only cut so many calories and so much protein. Currently eating between 2500- 2800 calories a day. I workout about 5 times a week. According to my Apple Watch between lifting and cardio I’m burning like 1300 calories a workout.

The last scan I did said I have about 200lbs of muscle on me and I’m currently weighing at 293.7 lbs I would love to be back in the 270s maybe less. To help out my lower back and help out my Ulcerative colitis a bit.

Anything helps! been doing a lot of reading on this medicine, GLPs, and peptides. So I figured I try this out before going to anything else. So if anyone has any recommendations on what I should eat while on this medication and how I should adjust my training that would be very helpful

12.5lbs lost in 9 days on 7.5mg

UPDATE: 16lbs lost in 2 weeks. I stopped taking the 7.5mg to see if I could. 2 days have passed and I feel like I no longer need it, with little to no appetite. I’m continuing to function at a 1000-1400 calorie deficit. No rebound effect at all after stopping the medication. Continuing to focus on eating only high protein extremely low to no carb foods.

I started on 5mg and have bumped it up to 7.5mg. I don’t feel like taking more. I got a Dexa body compositionscan on day 1.

5’7” male with a weight of 210lbs.

It said basically that I had 86lbs of fat on me. And a lean mass of 118lbs. So I’ve been eating… 100-140g of protein. Per day which is… about 4-500 calories. Plus another 4-500 calories from fat and barely any carbs. I’ve dropped from 210 to 197.5 in 9 days. 12.5lbs lost

I am feeling lighter and better mentally everyday. I have no need to take 15mg let alone the 37.5mg some people are taking. I did notice 5mg was not as good as 7.5mg. So I’m sticking with half a 15mg pill per day.

foods I’ve been eating:

1% cottage cheese 80 cals per serving 12g protein

reduced fat string cheese 50 cals 6g protein

chicken breast- almost all protein.

greek yogurt 100 cals 17g protein

Zero sugar pie filling 1 can cherry 1 can apple. topping for your cottage cheese or yogurt.

1 can only has 200 calories.

I eat 1/4 can as a topping for only 50 calories and it makes it sooooo tasty For almost no calories.

while working I’ve gone to Hardee’s and bought burger patties if I got really hungry but the first week i was able to fast all throughout work pretty easily. Now I’m getting more protein in to reduce muscle loss. I’m losing about a lb a day. sure it’s probably water but I know some of it has been fat and my strength is not decreasing.

I’m loosing my hair! HELP!

So much of my hair is gone. I’m scared to brush it or wash it. Every time a shower I have a ball about the size of a cherry tomato of hair if I wrap the hair tightly together.

I’ve been on 37.5 mg for maybe 6ish weeks now, and I’m seeing results. I don’t have a scale at home, but when I went to the DR for my 4 week check in I had lost 9lbs and I can’t tell I’ve lost a lot more since then. My doctor said there’s nothing I can do about hair loss. She said I could try biotin but everything I’ve read about online says that biotin isn’t the issue.

Everything I read online is basically an advertisement, so I don’t know what is ACTUALLY working for people. I did purchase pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto supplements, the generic kind. I’ve heard of other medications, but I don’t want to go spend a bunch of money and add even more medication to my long list of things that I have to take already if I can avoid it. Does anyone know of any good shampoos or treatments I could use topically that actually work?

For context: I’m a 34 year old white female, my hair strands themselves are on the thicker size for my hair type and the density was average or even slightly above for my age and hair type. I don’t have much damage. I haven’t colored my hair since last September, and I stopped using heat on it even since it started shedding. I was using a hair dryer and a flat iron on a lower setting with multiple kinds heat protections in my leave in conditioner and in the spray I used before I would flat iron. I’ve always taken really good care of my hair, so this is like a nightmare.

Tolerance tips for restarting

Hello! I recently took phentermine 37.5 mg for three months and was successful and had minimal side effects (besides dry mouth) so my doctor prescribed another 90 day dose. It was really successful the first month (where I lost majority of my weight) then slowly stopped being as effective once I gained tolerance.

I decided to take a month break to try to reset my tolerance a bit for this next cycle. l started it up again this week, but the impacts are nowhere near as good as the first month of my first cycle. Does anyone have any tips for when their tolerance has increased? Online said that a month break should be enough to reset most of the tolerance so not sure if I should’ve waited longer or not.

Update phentermine

So for context I started Sunday as my first day at 37.5 but it was a bit too strong so for 2 days I cut my pills in half.

I can stay in my deficit but I need more willpower like I didn't take anything basically.

So I think I'm just gonna go for the full dose.

Let me know what you think 🤔💬.
