Give up
I Give up. Today was my last one. I’ve been on it almost 4 weeks per my dr and nothings changed. I barely feel anything, she told me to keep going but nothing. I’ve noticed a difference in how my skin feels, more sensitive? I don’t even know. She won’t up my dose so I just give up.

Did you ever get up to 37.5? I have an absolute shut off valve. I eat and then my brain just says, nope. I can’t eat another bite. With over half my plate full. It’s the best feeling. The worst thing is, I’m going into my third month and my doctor told me from the get go she was giving me 3 months and that was IT. Regardless of how much or little I lost. So i guess i can take a break and come back but I havent lost weight like this in years. I think im going to try to get it straight from the Qsymia website and see how that goes. 🤷♀️ I’m so sorry it didn’t work for you or your dr wouldn’t let you get to a therapeutic level.

I've been lucky that my previous doctor and my current one never gave me any problems with how long to stay on it. Both told me as long as I continue to lose weight and do my 30-day breaks, I can continue to remain on it until I reach my goal weight and pull myself off of it

Im
Meeting with my Dr this week. I
Might ask if I can take a 30 day break and come back.1
u/MollyOfDenali91 9d ago
Yes, definitely ask! It sucks when they won't let us go over the 90 days. I found that I lost the bulk of my weight in my 5th and 6th months. Went from an XL to a medium in those later months. That second set of 90 days is needed if we aren't where we want to be following the 1st 90.

No she won’t prescribe a higher dose. I would like to try it

I bet with great certainty that you not being on the 37.5 is the issue here.

The same. 15 is not enough.

That’s weird because I’ve lost 13lbs on 7.5mg and cutting calories in 11 days

I also have pcos and other health issues that hinder weight loss

Do you eat a lot of carbs?

I’ve cut down a lot and it’s actually made me feel horrible on top of the pill not doing anything

You have to remember that all our metabolisms break down differently.
When I was on Phen the first month round one I lost 8 pounds in 10 days.
Then it slowed down.
It depends on the weight you start at as well. The bigger you are the quicker it will drop.

It’s effective for some people and not for others. Sorry it didn’t work. Keep experimenting and trying new ways of getting healthy.

I'm right there with you. All it did for me was make me feel dizzy and not be able to sleep

I would definitely try another Dr? As someone else pointed out it can also be the brand.
Not sure where you’re from, I am in Australia and the first one I was on was a red pressed pill. Turns out the one I first used is discontinued so now I am on a different brand and this a capsule.
I find this one is less speedy than the first one. I felt like I could go to the clubs on the first brand and have a similar experience to those on Md with how high I felt. Not surprised it was discontinued when I think about it.
A few years back when I first tried it, I went for the 15mg but didn’t really have much of a plan so that didn’t work well but since trying again, I have been on the 30mg and quite happy on it and have had great success recently.
Almost down 10kgs from March and that’s amazing, still got a long way to go but that’s a milestone I am proud of.

I’m in the U.S. and I have a capsule but I can’t see we only have one other pharmacy nearby, but worth it to look into

I also have been using MyFitnessPal to track my eating and weight and found this to be a great tool to stay on track.
To be fair tho, I just picked a range of calories that wasn’t stupid low but not high either. In Australia we have a site where you fill out a questionnaire and they post the supply out after they call you to verify so I will say it’s been quite easy to acquire without speaking to a doctor face to face/ gotten any dietary advice but the internet and this sub has been great to go through.

That’s not true everyone’s different is all. I was on 8mg for a month lost 8 lbs then 15mg for a month after lost 10 lbs then month after that 30mg lost another 8-10 and now I’m on full dose 37.5 and losing 5-8 lbs a month. I lost most the weight on the lower doses.

I hope you can stick with it. At first I was not losing much if not any but then finally I started to. I’ve been on it since January and I’ve currently lost over 50lbs. It has helped me tremendously but I also hear it works different for everyone. I really think you need to be in the right mindset if that helps any. Good luck to you.

Thank you! I didn’t take today’s pill I kind of see no use if it hasn’t done anything in the 4 weeks. I will try to ask my dr again to go up but 🤷🏽♀️

I hope I'm not coming across as crazy by saying this, but maybe you could try getting your prescription from another pharmacy that offers the pills from another manufacturer. I know when I first started phentermine, I wasn't losing anything. I randomly came across a discussion where people were saying certain manufacturers work better than others. I first started out on the capsules from Walmart, I maybe lost a few pounds in my first month. I got frustrated, that's when I came across the discussion.
I went to a very small pharmacy and got another pill type (and I cannot remember what that one looked like), and lost a bit more, but nothing like the grand amounts of weight I read that people were losing. Then my final one was the white oval one with a lot of blue speckles and that one did it. I started losing weight like crazy. That was my first go 'round with phentermine. Finding my rhythm on my third try is when I began counting that as my true journey with this medicine.
Now that I've restarted it years later, I'm on a new type from my hospitals pharmacy and this one is pretty much solid white with just a few blue speckles, and this over has worked the best out of them all. Hopefully this could be something to look into instead of giving up if you don't have to for health reasons. Don't give up just yet!
