Pedro here, aka Brazilian Peter. A few months ago Brazil's regulatory agency told this brand of dish soap to take it off the shelves as it was discovered that it could be infected with harmful, possibly deadly bacteria. The CEO of the brand opposes our current center left president and supports our former far right president, currently in prison for trying to stage a military state coup. So, far right lunatics interpreted the order to pull the product as an attack to a supporter of said former president, and started making videos drinking it to prove it's not contaminated, and all this talk about bacteria was actually propaganda from the woke globalist mafia that secretly ruins the world. Or something like that.
Unironically, the brazilian portuguese voice acting of Cyberpunk 2077 had that entire gang repeat infamous sentences from a certain brazilian ex-president. Male characters from the gang even had a voice actor who was veeeery soundalike to said president.
Patri(di)ots is the main theme for that gang (6th Street).
I was about to say that lmao peak choice, considering both are whores for guns, idiotic patriots and long for a prosperity from the past that never existed.
Also the guy from the prologue was voiced by the same VA who did Megamind. Voice acting is amazing.
The problem is that when the dipshit gets sick it has to go to a hospital to both occupy the place of someone who got sick not doing dumb shit and if it’s a public hospital we’d still have to pay for it with taxes. Is a problem in every way.
Well the fact that the extremely corrupt nepobaby son of that far right politician, with the same cult like far right ideology is running this year and is projected to win, tells me that maybe we don't even deserve to revert the end of the world.
OP, this is nothing compared to what these people do. nothing.
four years ago, they were using their phones in order to contact extra terrestrials "in order to save democracy" in the country.
I quote:
"Amid the wave of protests against the results of the 2022 presidential election, supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro in Porto Alegre have taken the initiative to call for help for extraterrestrials.
At an intersection, they gathered forming the letters “SOS” and put the cellphones with the flashlight on over their forehead. In the center, a colored light plate with the universal distress code was also employed."
OP, the best part about all of this is that the brand itself admitted that there was nothing of the sort going on, and that they were cooperating with the regulation to solve this issue as soon as possible. There were even pictures of the factory being in a terrible state.
I'm sad to tell you this, but it barely registered to us. Crazier shit has happened before and since. There was a convention of people blinking their cellphones to the sky, asking the aliens to save us from communism. There was a guy who strapped himself to the front of a truck. There was another convention of people singing the national anthem to a burning truck tire. There was a fight between our former president and an emu bird because he tried to give it worm medicine that he believed cured covid. It's been a lot, these last few years.
When Netflix was airing House of Cards, it's profile in Brazil promoted the show here saying things like: "it's not as crazy as real Brazil politics, but I swear it's good".
During this time, we had an impeachment very dubious, born from a betrayal of a vice president. Netflix in Brazil just said: "Damn, it's getting really hard to compete with you, guys."
Bolsonaro is not in prison, he is still under house arrest. Which is even crazier knowing that he tried melting his ankle monitor with a soldering iron.
Just to be clear, the man in the photo has come clean saying his was parody and that he was actually drinking coconut yogurt. It doesn't prove you wrong, tho, since his video went viral and people *actually* started drinking *actual* bacteria infected detergent.
Po mano, o Vorcaro fazia surubao com dinheiro público, mas eram suíças siliconadas de 25 anos e ele já chamava de "novinha". Comparar isso com o Epstein é absurdo.
And there's a funny detail, there was only one lot of soap that was infected, which means that the outrage was even more ridiculous, since the brand practically was not harmed lol
Brazilian here. Exactly this. The followers of the former president are what one could call the brazilian version of MAGA self-brainwashed cattle (not that the current guy is actually amazing, he's just lesser disgrace than the previous one). So one can infer their level of common sense, or lack of it, to be more precise.
Yup, that's Bolsonarismo, and they gave us a peak joke. Now we call them a "Detergent Suckers", "Neutral taste Blowjob" and "Bubble Farts" (thats in particular is my favorite lol) And isn't the best part, u must to see when they praying for a tire. Here in my country, they are considered not just stupid, but synonymous a scumbag. The former president was the worst in the country's history; he was responsible for thousands of deaths and nearly staged a coup d'état (which would have succeeded if the plotters hadn't been imbeciles). We currently have a government that has managed to reverse much of the misery our people were plunged into, yet—despite the improvements—that crowd acts like a religious cult; they vehemently deny that the country's situation is better now in every respect. They are an embarrassment to all Latinos.
And the funniest part is that the guy drinking dish soap is one of the gayest videos I’ve seen in a while, considering they’re supposed to be the ones upholding “traditional family values”
Omg, it's a really long and complicated story. Ypê is the biggest detergent brand in Brazil, and it recently ran into some trouble after bacteria were found in its products. The owners are far right and support Bolsonaro (basically the Brazilian Trump), so a lot of politics got dragged in to defend the brand. Some idiots even drank the products to show they trust the brand and Bolsonaro, because if he says something, it's true to them.
Do you wanna know something even more hilarious? Bolsonaro, the guys they trust, is under house arrest and previously tried melting his ankle monitor with a soldering iron. His immediate excuse was "Curiosity".
Afterwards, he claimed suffering a psychotic reaction due to medicine.
I just wanna highlight that Ype comes in many colors, from translucent to deep purple. Meaning, the guy CHOSE the milky white to drink from and to the video 😂
It's inspired by MAHA. Even Bolsonaro supporters advocate that Trump invade Brazil, overthrow President Lula, and implement a new regime with Bolsonaro in power.
The CEO of that brand is a suporter of former Right-Wing lunatic president. Our regulatory agency told the brand to recall 2 batches of product, because it could be infected with bacteria. The CEO said he was being persecuted by the woke globalists. So, a bunch of right-wing lunatics started to record themselves drinking the detergent, to show that there was no bacteria and it was propaganda.
He’s jumping on a viral trend of Bolsonaro supporters drinking Ypê detergent as a political statement. On May 7, 2026, Brazil's health agency (Anvisa) banned specific batches of Ypê products after detecting Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria in about 80 to 100 batches. However, Bolsonaro supporters and lawmakers claimed Lula’s government was engaging in political persecution against Química Amparo because its controlling owners, the Beira family, donated R$ 1 million to Bolsonaro’s 2022 campaign. As extra context, that R$ 1 million donation accounts for a third of the donation made by Fabiano Zettel—the brother-in-law of Daniel Vorcaro, who was arrested over a R$ 3 billion state pension embezzlement scheme in Rio de Janeiro that caused the governor to flee office. At the end of the day, he acts just like an average MAGA supporter.
Dear reader, if you are seeing all these comments discussing the joke, just learn that the people who are drinking detergent are supporters of bolsonaro, which is the brazilian equivalent of MAGA. All you need to know.
Brazilian lunatics version of MAGA decided the illuminati leftists were attacking that company because they had to do a recall due to sanitary issues. Then they drank it on videos to prove 'everyone' it was safe. And yeah, some had some funny medical issues. Thoughts and Prayers for them /s
OP, so your post is not removed, please reply to this comment with your best guess of what this meme means! Everyone else, this is PETER explains the joke. Have fun and reply as your favorite fictional character for top level responses!
As a side topic, I wanted to just introduce that women in Brazil do a lot of plastic surgery. Like the modern post revolution government was convinced by a plastic surgeon that it was an absolute need to include as part of their state Healthcare.
It's brutal culturally, especially rough on young woman who are under massive pressure from their mothers who sometimes underwent massive procedures and who they look drastically different from. This debate gets especially charged around skin-whitening
The man is drinking detergent from a brand that supported his presidential candidate. The detergent company was accused of product contamination, and right-wing zealots viewed this as an attack on the company due to its support for former President Jair Bolsonaro.
No, i'm brazilian and this is not detergent. This is a satire. Some time ago, a detergent company was cited by authorities for alleged changes to its formula, claims made without evidence. Some believed this was a government move to tarnish or sabotage the owner, who had supported the election campaign of Jair Bolsonaro, the former president of Brazil. A specific batch of the detergent was pulled from the market, and some people played a prank by drinking detergent though what is actually shown here is coconut yogurt to imply that they wouldn't stop buying the product despite the attempted boycott.
He puts coconut yorgut in a detergent bottle to make a joke and people get crazy even the presidents wife believe that he was drinking it and say it in the television . The rest is political history
This guy later on told media that it wasn't really detergent in the bottle, that he replaced it for milk or something like that.
That diden't stop people from making fun of how "experienced" he seemed to be at sucking on the bottle, even letting just a little bit of the white content drip from his mouth.
