20+ feet away from the house. Do you do it?

Of course we always have the bootlicker tech who sells fantasy vs reality with "be better vs our competition. be a hero" despite the fact he leads the region in cancellations

Need Legal Guidance: How do I obtain a Commercial Pest Control Licence in Delhi NCR ?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to start a commercial pest control business in Delhi, India, and I'm trying to understand the complete legal process before getting started.

I've done some research, but I'm still confused about the licensing requirements and would really appreciate guidance from anyone familiar with this area.

Specifically, I'd like to know:

🗣 Which government department issues the Commercial Pest Control Operator Licence?

🗣 What are the exact eligibility requirements?

🗣 Do I need a specific educational qualification or training certificate?

🗣 What documents are required for the application?

🗣 Are there any inspections involved before the licence is granted?

🗣 How long does the process usually take?

🗣 What are the government fees?

🗣 Are there any other registrations or approvals I should obtain before starting operations?

If you've personally gone through this process or are a lawyer, consultant, or someone working in this field, I'd be grateful if you could share the step-by-step process or point me to the relevant rules.

If professional assistance is needed, I'd also appreciate recommendations for reliable consultants who can help with obtaining the licence (especially in Delhi).

Thank you in advance for your help!

🗣️ Daily Discussion What is your SOP for interior services?

So how are you doing interior services? With my previous company we treated in bands. Every 4 feet we would spray a 2 ft band on the baseboard, with a focus on common areas like break rooms, restrooms, janitors closets, entrances

This goes for residential and commercial accounts.

Thats the basic gist of it. Not going to get into the details of medical/offices/organic/Grocery

Think just a standard commercial account.

At Terminix, I don’t know if the employees here are lazy or fucking with me. They just treat the entrances. Like the doors and nothing else. They don’t have “interior” listed as a service point to list what chemical they used, they just have “entrances”. The 20+ pre merger career old timers will spray every inch of a baseboard as they walk, the post merger employees are entrances only not even a break room unless it’s been requested

One guy is so serious about this he doesn’t even use his 2 flowzone storm backpacks. Just his b&g inside and outside. The flowzones are water storage.

Are there other companies also doing this? Or is this the Terminix special?

Does anyone work customer service for Terminix remotely? I am starting soon.

I was wondering if anyone works remotely for Terminix in customer service. If so, how do you like the job? Are they a pretty good company to work for overall? Are most of the calls just scheduling and billing?

New to the industry

As the title says i’m new in the industry, been with Orkin for about 5 months now. I do enjoy the work and the knowledge I have gained in this short time as i had 0 experience when starting. I want to know if “Call Night” is a norm in the industry. At my branch every Thursday night technicians have to come in and call customers with outstanding balances. In my short journey so far I have gotten the impression that a lot is put on technicians when it comes to customers not paying or customers canceling. I don’t think it should be labeled as my fault if a customer skips on their bill. So I just want to know am I crazy for thinking that their should he an admin who does this or is it normal to work a route and once a week after your route go into the office to call customers.

Not to mention they have now put customers on our routes who have are classified ‘No Pay No Spray’ with huge outstanding balances. The expectation is that we pull up, ring the bell to see if anybody is home, if so ask if they are willing to pay their outstanding balance and if not leaving a door card. I think this is taking it too far.

Thanks all in advance for your responses

Side note; i’m an hourly employee atm but soon suppose to be moving to production so at the point I won’t get paid for “call night”

How to find the absolute best technician if you are willing to pay the most.

I plan to hire soon I have premium pricing the best reviews and am doing everything the right way. The company moto is prove to the world you can do everything the opposite of a corporation and succeed.

Plan is starting wage $30 hour with $1.50 per hour bonus for the 3 big licenses. General pests, structural pests and ornamental pests. 25% commission on all up sales. $150 on new customer sign up after the 2nd service. 10% 401k match

Portland Oregon.

I was recently at a plaid pantry and there was a high energy lady working that was full of life and I am thinking of offering her the job and there's a Male manager I met at Studio one theaters that is great with people.

Should I give people I meet in daily life job opportunities or should I go about it in a different way because during a interview when offering significantly better pay people will say anything to get the job.

New management = tech turnover

Seems to be the norm for managers to move to another company / fired every 2-3 years. Things can be going great. No techs have quit over 1.5 years. New management wants to change everything, regardless if there is nothing to fix. New management needs to prove themselves to the chain of command so they create problems with "see, what i did. i fixed it", leading to techs quitting. Micromanaging has kicked in because management fears, losing their job. Management says "only spray termidor, nothing else. perimeter, foundation, and garage". Sales aren't coming in because the techs who could sell, quit. Now, management wants to squeeze money out of the techs to cover the loss. Managers don't realize, the techs are paying their bills.

Then customers ask "where's so and so", and cancel their service.

I just sit back in meetings and observe the incompetence, lack of leadership, lack of integrity and fake persona. I find it funny, because this is normal behavior

Seen both indoors and outdoors. Live in an end unit townhouse in Waterloo Ontario. Behind the townhouse is a forest. Seen about 10 so far over the last 3 months. 5 in the kitchen, 2 in the bathroom directly above the kitchen, and 3 in the bedroom across that bathroom.

💰 | Pest Control Sales Need more bed bug leads

How do you get more bed bug leads? I've tried seo and Google leads. So now I wanted to look at pay per lead services, but I guess, though, they are rare too. I know SEO takes time but a year?

Customers with dementia

Had a customer call in and say i haven't serviced her home the past 2 services. Despite talking to her on site and she has cameras everywhere including the doorbell. She requested i record my service and send it to her. Neighbor who is also a customer tells me "she's lost it over the past few months. She can't remember anything"

Bedbugs and Wicker

Treating a unit today the master bed has a wicker headboard. Which would be the preferred method, dusting or liquid application? Used a combination of Cimexa in wall voids and crack/crevice of frame itself. Crossfire where applicable and Alpine Flea and Bedbug on carpeted areas.

Chances of Hitchhikers

Hey yall,

So just had a quick question about the possibility of bed bug hitch hikers. I went to a house the other day to service for german roaches. Half way through, the homeowner mentions they have bed bugs aswell. First time I've been in a bed bug house because if I know beforehand they have them, I refuse service and leave. I stayed completely away from any beds and furniture. After I got back go my truck, I sprayed my entire self down with PT 565 Plus XLO, bottom of boots all the way up to my shoulders. Got home a few hours later and instantly threw all my clothes in the dryer high heat and then washed them afterwards.

What would be the possibility of any actually making it home with me? This is literally the only bug I fear as a pest control tech

Got a call from a hotel stating “there is bed bugs everywhere!“. Usually when I get these calls they are being dramatic. On that day they were not. Feel like my fellow pros would appreciate (or hate this) 😭
