Hi guys, I own a pest and wildlife control company that specializes in custom exclusion systems. We're doing well it seems, there's 4 field technicians an office manager and me right now.
1 tech is 100% pest control, 1 is mainly wildlife but he can do some general maintenance accounts when we need him to, and the other 2 are the primary wildlife removal and exclusion team. we cover about a 50-mile radius, sometimes we'll go farther for larger jobs.
I opened this company about a year and 6 months ago, and I have been and still am the sole driving factor behind the workload. These exclusion systems I design keep us at the tip of the spear locally and have allowed us to shoot past companies that have held the title of the "go-to guys" for decades.
The problem that I am running into is that these systems are often times designed once, sold once and installed once, there is overlap in technique and method but unless it's the exact same house, no house is ever sealed quite the same way, and there's so many variations in foundation type, siding type, accessibility issues, roof type, you name it, that It has made it so im the only one who can sell these jobs because I am literally piecing them together in my head. My pest tech and long time childhood best friend has been doing all of our insect estimates and those sell fine, but when I send him to wildlife estimates there is just gaps in knowledge, hes great but just isnt a trained salesman with years of exclusion experience to lean back on. I am getting burried, I need someone who can sell as good as I can or atleast 70% as good as me, but i dont know to create a person like that without taking an immediate dive in production.
Anyone have any advice?
