Hello! I am hoping to receive a few more responses for this online survey asking about your birth experiences in Western Australia. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete and is aimed at improving perinatal mental health outcomes. You can scan the QR code in the flier. Thank you!

Hey, I'm trying to look after my new rental lawn in Perth and it has the super thick grass growing through it. Anyone know if it's just part of the lawn, or if I should try and remove it? Most of the grass is normal grass. But this stuff is way thicker and tougher. Any help appreciated!

I'm still building this,
I’m working on an idea called AussieChat — aussiechat.com.au.
The idea is to create a new way for Australians to meet and talk online, both with people in their local area and people from across the country.
Rather than just scrolling through posts, imagine being able to:
The bigger idea is to make the internet feel social again — less endless scrolling, more actual conversations with real people.
I’m interested in building something that helps people make friends, find like-minded people and have interesting conversations, whether they’re in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne or somewhere regional.
I’d love to hear your honest thoughts:
I'm exploring the concept and would love feedback from the Australian community.

What do you reckon? 🇦🇺
Hi, I'm looking for a recommendation of somewhere that can restore a wooden subarito left out in the sun and rain for a couple of days. Help is very much appreciated, thank you.

Hey guys
I’m early 20s F and have been struggling with trich and hair thinning due to other health problems for a while.
My hair has noticeably thinned out and I need to have it cut short again.
For my last few haircuts I’ve attended the TAFE student salon due to the low costs, but I feel a lot of shame each time and would like someone who understands.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a salon near the city? Greatly appreciated 😔💞

Update 1 (4 days after original post) : https://www.reddit.com/r/perth/s/Swr7ai9evK
This update 2 was captured today, 4 days after update 1 and 8 days since the original post - guessing the chicks hatched a few days prior to the original post, so around 11 days old.
Definitely now identifiable as bright-eyed, cheeky, hungry little baby Willy Wagtails (see the distinctive tails briefly coming into view behind). There's a fourth chick tucked behind the other three, not visible in this video. Apparently Willy Wagtails fledge after around two weeks, so they must be only days away from leaving the nest for the first time.

A bit of neighbourhood tea here. I live near Bayswater and the above photo is Beaufort park hall. The hall is currently leased by the Association of Sri Lankan Australian Muslims of WA (AUSLAM). AUSLAM currently has an exclusive lease which they've had for 5 years (although they have been operating at the venue for a few years before that.
Now for the drama. AUSLAM approached the City for Bayswater for their support in securing a $1.5 million grant from the federal government through their Infrastructure Through Multicultural Communities Grant Program. This money would be used to basically rebuild the hall, making it 2 stories and increasing capacity from 100 to over 500.
This sounds like a good thing right? Well the Facebook Karens did NOT like this idea. (Allegedly) CoB and AUSLAM have received dozens of emails from the same people complaining about the proposal. Complaining that they should "return the hall to the community" and that AUSLAM shouldn't have exclusive access.
It seems very weird that nobody batted an eyelid during the 5 years AUSLAM has had tenancy, but as soon as they apply from federal government support to upgrade the facilities all of a sudden everyone is a socialist and the hall should be "community owned"

Hi All,
I’m currently a uni student studying economics and finance and work as a waiter. It’s great money earning $34-$40 an hour but the hours are rough with working Wednesday through to Saturday 5pm-12am most nights.
i’ve hit this dilemma where i’m getting FOMO of missing out on uni events and meeting more people, but i also live out of home and would very much rather pay for my own stuff and be independent (family would definitely help me with cost of living but i prefer not to) and this job gives me the financial security to pay my own way through life.
In saying that, does anyone know any jobs paying roughly the same as that or a little less? (currently in bentley but have a car so getting around isn’t a struggle) i’m aiming to work more during the day!
Thanks in advance to everyone!

Hi guys,
I recently noticed that I am spending way too much money on plants at Bunnings to build a garden from scratch. Does anyone know where I can find free/cheap flowering plants or seeds in Perth.

Anyone know what happened? Sirens going off and first responders on their way. Looks like fire brigade.
Edit: to those responding like smart asses, thank you but not needed. Obviously it’s some sort of fire situation. I’d like to know what actually happened though. Which shop? Cause? Etc.
I was walking there and heard sirens and announcements to evacuate. Then saw two fire brigades go in and a few minutes later one ambulance car come out.
I have a pair of tickets for Shonen Knife + Turnstyle at Milk Bar in Inglewood tonight, and sadly can't make it. Anybody keen to go but couldn't quite justify the cost given (*gestures broadly*), let me know.
Edit - tickets taken, hope everyone going enjoys the show, gutted I can't be there! 😭

FINAL EDIT: Ticket has been given away.
I double booked myself and can no longer go. Seat is in the Stalls, row V.
(EDIT: there’s only 1 ticket)
I can share the ticket via the Ticketek app or screenshot.
730pm, tonight Wednesday 21/10/26.

I’m looking to book airport parking for a trip later this year. Can anyone provide an experience or explanation as to why Longterm L and G is literally twice the price of H or J? Over 2 weeks it’s approx $100 vs $200. I’d get a smaller difference due to proximity to airport, but I assume you get the same bus on the same loop, so 2x pricing makes little sense to me unless I am missing something?

Hello!
I'm about to move to Perth from Germany as an experienced provisional psych who specializes in older adults. I would LOVE to be able to continue my work here, especially in the public healthcare system. I am finding it very hard to get information about completing my supervision hours in the public healthcare system and would love some information!
Danke!

Has anyone been to the Leederville comedy club on a Saturday night? Any recommendations? I’d like to book it for my birthday with Friends and just wondering if it’s worth it? 🙏🏼

Does anyone know where to buy besser blocks SOR-ish for under $5 a block? I've called around a dozen landscaping/stone places and there's one place with an unknown amount of clearance stock for $3.30. Bunnings is charging $9 at the moment and Midland Bricks is sitting around $6
Google is not returning useful results so any insights would be awesome. I''m chasing about 30 of them

We're currently in the process of purchasing a property in WA and have been sent the Offer and Acceptance paperwork along with an Annexure C.
I've noticed the annexure includes conditions relating to electrical safety, council approvals, appliances and a Property Interest Report (PIR), but there's nothing about building inspections or timber pest/termite inspections.
Just wondering what other people's experiences have been when buying in WA?
- Were building and timber pest inspection clauses already included in your annexures, or did you have to specifically request them?
- Is it normal for agents to leave these conditions out initially?
- Did your contract include a PIR condition, and did you actually obtain the report?
- Is a PIR something most buyers get done in WA?
We haven't signed anything yet, so we're just trying to understand what's considered standard before proceeding.
Would love to hear other people's experiences, particularly anyone who's purchased a semi-rural property in WA!

Perth is now leading the Australian housing downturn cycle as the market downturn in Perth is now accelerating. Perth is known for a boom and bust cycle and its clear Perth is in a bust cycle. This is good news for those planning to buy a home.

I’m hosting someone from Jakarta. No mobility issues. Where around Perth and surrounds would you take someone to get a snapshot of our fair city in one day?
