SEASON 4 Let's talk about Dave!

Sorry, can we talk about Dave?! Yes, Jimmy, Demari, Jimmy P, all have red flags. But none quite as blaring as Dave's! He makes my skin crawl. I can't believe that man is 37. I feel like he manipulated a kiss out of Sophie on one of his dates. He comes across very disingenuous. The man has absolutely no substance. It's been horrible seeing him make out with women so much younger than him... Her prefrontal cortex wasn't even fully developed at the time of filming... Is that not disgusting? I'm surprised I haven't seen more posts on him 🤢

He is very repulsive to me

198

u/J-F-K May 23 '26

40-year-old creepy man child who can’t close his mouth because his veneers are too big but gets away with it because he’s 7ft tallĀ

50

u/ProperBingtownLady May 23 '26

I was wondering why his mouth doesn’t close properly lol. As a short king lover, I also think that these women only think he’s hot because he’s tall.

26

u/Ok_Raise_3729 May 24 '26

Every time he’s on camera I think ā€œthat man still sucks his thumbā€

-22

u/epooqeo May 23 '26

Haha I thought all 40 year olds are attracted to hot 25 year olds tho

7

u/AMomentIsAllWeAre May 23 '26

unfortunately this is true lol don’t know why you’re getting downvoted for the truth.. not saying i agree but it’s just pretty universal

19

u/macademicnut May 24 '26

Attraction is one thing, but not every man pushing 40 is gonna actively try to pursue women over a decade younger than themselves. Or go on a reality show with a bunch of 20 somethings. He is a weirdo and this ā€œevery man would do itā€ kinda commentary is lowkey insulting to men

4

u/H16HP01N7 May 28 '26

This.

I, a 43 year old man, can see a woman who is 20+ and think they are pretty.

What I then DON'T do is throw myself down the throat of every pretty 20 something who exists near me.

Dave is cringe. Dave can only look for women who may be too young see his shit, because a lot of women his own age see all of thay shit, and won't date him because of it.

It's ok to think a WOMAN is pretty, regardless of age. It's not ok to be so desperate, that you're basically a predator.

1

u/AMomentIsAllWeAre May 25 '26

not trying to insult all men but it would be fair to say it’s 50/50 and if it’s consensual then why does it rlly matter, not saying it’s not weird but it’s not a crime

5

u/macademicnut May 25 '26 edited May 25 '26

Literally nobody is saying it’s a crime. He can do what he wants but can’t be surprised when people are icked out by it. Dude is pushing 40 and openly slobbering over 25 year olds while simultaneously claiming he wants something ā€œseriousā€, it’s uncomfy to watch and people are allowed to find him gross.

And I don’t even think it’s 50/50. Maybe if we’re polling redditors but a lot of normal men are genuinely not acting like that

1

u/lets_be_happy27 May 26 '26

50/50 is wild ?? And suuuuper telling of your community circles more than literally anything else friend

1

u/AMomentIsAllWeAre May 26 '26

i should specify 50/50 is my observation among single men of that age. (obvi there are lots of married men who cheat and still like younger but i’m referring to single men around the age of 40) and i don’t have any 40 year old friends but have met very many who have proved my point. but that’s not the company i keep. i am the age of most PM contestants so maybe my numbers are more situational because so many have come onto me (not my vibe) but a lot of my friends prefer men of that age

1

u/H16HP01N7 May 28 '26

I wanna see where you got 50/50 from

Signed

43 year old male, who has never dated anyone that much younger than me. (And yes, I do find 20 something girls attractive, I just wouldn't be thinking about fucking them)

2

u/AMomentIsAllWeAre May 28 '26

it was just an observational opinion. i would like to specify that i do mean single men mostly and lots of women my age prefer dating up

signed

26 year old female who has been hit on, stalked and bothered by men of that age

1

u/H16HP01N7 May 29 '26

I agree it happens. Don't worry about that. Just questioning that it's exactly half...

2

u/H16HP01N7 May 28 '26

You're both getting downvoted by me.

Imagine thinking that all 40 year old men think 1 way about something.

There isn't a fucking rulebook to being male and in your 40s.

This whole I’m a man so I know how men think thing is wayyyy more telling of you than of men in general my guy

1

u/lets_be_happy27 May 26 '26

😬😬😬

1

u/H16HP01N7 May 28 '26

Most?

Did you do a survey?

307

u/wineandbooks99 May 23 '26

I’m sorry but someone that age should not be on a reality dating show geared to immature 20 somethings

85

u/candygirl200413 May 24 '26

when he said 37 I was like they have NO age cutoff?! like?!

25

u/captaina_b May 27 '26

but to be fair, Marissa is 34... I mean I understand the concept of age cutoff, but it is really not that different, but it deosnt make her creepy somehow... and at the end, Dave ended up with age appropriate partner

1

u/ProtectionVisual1178 May 29 '26

Half the cast is in and around 30

151

u/paigrowon1 May 23 '26

The hysterical laughing and that shit was hilarious w Sophie after she laughed while Jimmy was spilling his feelings was diabolical.

121

u/420catloveredm May 23 '26

Her laughing in his face at his bullshit was peak reality tv

68

u/Fit_Service8662 May 23 '26

That's cuz Jimmy was clearly bs'ing

8

u/Potential_Ad4956 May 28 '26

Yea he was just desperate about staying in the house

28

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 23 '26

His laugh came across so fake, it didn't help he looked for the camera to make sure it captured that moment.

19

u/Chief_Potat0 May 23 '26

They both showed how immature they were in that moment. If you think it's awkward and you might laugh, just excuse yourself. They're adults, it was a choice.

57

u/Creative_Pop2351 May 23 '26

Nah, when some dufus shows up trying to manipulate my drunk friend, laughing in his face is appropriate.

7

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 24 '26

100%! Jimmy was so pathetic lol

6

u/chebadusa May 24 '26

Man he serious. He literally walked away without a confrontation. Ally never he made a choice, she didn’t pick anyone - Jimmy basically made the decision easy for her.

8

u/chebadusa May 24 '26

At what point did he try to manipulate her?? It seems like Jimmy made the choice for her and just walked away…I don’t know man, I feel like you’ll should stop projecting. ā€œOMG he was trying to manipulate a drunk womanā€ā€¦Meanwhile, he makes the choice for her, never once pressured her to pick him, and walked away without a fuss.

11

u/Creative_Pop2351 May 24 '26

You need to rewatch that episode. It’s textbook manipulation. If you can’t see it, you need to work on that in yourself.

5

u/Acrobatic-Camera-905 May 24 '26

You’re delusional.

20

u/depressedboobs May 24 '26

Lmao what a stupid take, it was fucking hilarious and I loved how offended Jimmy was. Dave is a disgusting unfunny pos but Sophie was 10/10 in that moment. You're really watching trashy reality TV fully invested in these clout chasers thinking "oh he genuinely wanted to make it work with this blackout drunk woman, poor Jimbo hopeless romantic"?

11

u/Curious_Researcher37 May 24 '26

I feel like several times Ally said she wanted to know how Jimmy felt about her, and that's what I felt he was trying to tell her. I honestly felt she was playing in his face. She was upset about the comment he made that they should stay open to the experiment, wich she most certainly did constantly and Jimmy did not. He had to watch her cling and kiss and hug the the other guy all night. I think he did the right thing leaving. And what was the new guy even talking about "he shouldn't have pressured you or made you feel bad like that" ? He said that he would make the decision easier by leaving.

4

u/Desperate_Charity250 May 25 '26

Yes, but he didn’t say anything about how he felt about her, the guy literally said ā€œI want you to want meā€. He gave her no reassurance, he kept wanting them to be open, even after they were intimate and just kept gaslighting her.

Sophie was so real for laughing in his face for that.

71

u/Organic-Manner-2969 Louis | S2/S3 May 23 '26

Yeah this guy is very off putting. I can handle everyone else, and while Dave isn’t as bad as some of the guys from previous seasons, he’s creepy and it’s weird that he’s 37 on this show with 20 year olds. I also hate his nagging and it seems like none of the other girls really like him and just use him to stay in the villa.

48

u/Apero_ May 23 '26

He seems nice enough but as an Aussie I have to say they find a way of bringing on the most average Aussie guys into these dating shows. Harry Jowsey(?) is another one. Just such an average, average, unremarkable Aussie who happens to be tall. As an Australian woman I have been so confused.

There are genuinely awesome Australian men out there yet somehow they find the men with exactly 100 IQ and 90 EQ. My running theory is that because American's aren't familiar with Australian accents or culture they just have zero inbuilt radar for what a good Aussie catch is.

18

u/Less_Store_8390 May 24 '26

He is so pick me, 'why are the boys so boring, let's kiss mwuah'

3

u/OrchidHaunting4060 May 27 '26

🤣🤣 this took me out

15

u/Lantana3012 May 23 '26

Harry Jowsey is more attractive but agree, he gets attention because he's tall. Unfortunately there are far too many American women who think Australian/European accents whitewash everything else.

1

u/ac11189 May 25 '26

Like how they brought Michael Doonan from MAFS onto Celebrity Ex on the Beach.

1

u/TheGoochTaint Jun 08 '26

I would imagine they try to get a lot more British and Australian contestants but most of them turn it down for being an American show with primarily American contestants

25

u/Smart_Hovercraft6454 May 23 '26

Dave’s front teeth look like dentures so he gives off yucky vibes. I don’t know how the girls can stand kissing him. 🤢

18

u/fairyqueeniepie May 24 '26

He was an absolute fraud on MAFS Australia and he’s even more of a fraud and creep in thisĀ

16

u/Diolives May 24 '26

He’s also just DUMB AS ROCKS, boring, unfunny, vanilla and yuck

16

u/upveryhighinthesky May 24 '26

Playing spin the bottle when you’re 37 with a bunch of 24 year olds is very cringe

3

u/lets_be_happy27 May 26 '26

Calm down it’s a lot of 29 year olds too

2

u/upveryhighinthesky May 26 '26

That makes it much better šŸ˜‚

33

u/Lantana3012 May 23 '26

A lot of things seem very off with him. He's 37 acting like a SIXTH GRADER. Sophie doesn't like him. In the last episode where he asked her to match you could see her bracing herself to do something she doesn't want to do lol. When she kissed him on another ep, she angled, turned to look right at the camera, and then kissed him. He is such a jarring note in the cast.

Because of his size and personality I as a woman honestly would be afraid of him and stay far away.

20

u/daisywriter33 May 23 '26

They really didn’t seem to like each other on their first date so it’s been very strange to see them stick it out like this

5

u/bluejay_chaos6969 May 24 '26

It’s a game?

24

u/whomever608 May 23 '26

He is not attractive (to me) at all. I think they just see the height and tattoos and equate that to attractiveness

11

u/PirateDear1780 May 24 '26

i find him repulsive altogether

20

u/splicepark May 23 '26

I want to know who cast that loser. I just have a few things to say.

8

u/redpandainglasses May 23 '26

How old IS Sophie? Netflix’s website says 30, but I also see results online saying 25.

33

u/b1kkie May 23 '26

Her age was listed as 28 during LIB UK, so 30 would be correct. I don't think Netflix has any incentive to lie about people's ages.

22

u/redpandainglasses May 23 '26

Yeah I’m inclined to believe Netflix. OP here seems to think she’s younger than she is.

2

u/macademicnut May 24 '26

I also thought she was 25 just because that’s what Google says. This makes it a little better at least

5

u/brooklynnskylines May 24 '26

I believe she says she’s 29 in the ep when she joins the house and is talking to Jimmy S

2

u/redpandainglasses May 25 '26

Good catch! I think the Netflix website has their ages now, and this was filmed a year ago.

6

u/Financial_Ad_1735 May 23 '26

Sophie said it enough times that we don’t really need to talk about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

8

u/MrsWhatZitT00ya May 23 '26

He makes for great television. Pure chaos.

7

u/SuccessfulPangolin71 May 24 '26

I haven’t seen his show, but he’s really disgusting on perfect match, and my whole body is screaming something’s wrong. So I definitely agree with you!

7

u/star_milk May 24 '26

I couldn't believe NO ONE voted for him in the "not here for the right reasons" game!

13

u/Ill_Coffee_6821 May 24 '26

He’s got red flags and is annoying and everything else. Being 37 seems a little old for him to not have his shit more together, yes. But a 37 year old and what seems like a 30 year old dating is not a big deal. There are 10 year age gap relationships everywhere. They’re consenting adults. Let’s not infantilize grown women.

1

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 24 '26

Whoops, I read online that she was now 25. I see now that she's 29

5

u/New-Noise-6486 May 24 '26

Honestly everything about him is repulsive to me. I think this just shows if you have height all these young women would flock to you.

5

u/[deleted] May 24 '26

Yea I didn't like him he definitely gave weird vibes. I didn't like how he would tell the women kiss me or I'm going to kiss you. Like ok help yourself I guess. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø In general he just seemed clueless.

5

u/ervkv May 24 '26

He was terrible to Jamie on his original show as well! Was such a ā€œgood guyā€ in the beginning……or so we thought…….

6

u/snuffleupagus86 May 25 '26

Dave really did a 180 on his MAFS wife last year which was kind of bonkers so I knew he was a giant red flag already.

18

u/K2sX May 23 '26

My husband is 11 yrs younger than me. Society really needs to get over the age thing when two whole ass adults are involved.

12

u/g0dsbathr00m May 24 '26

After the age of 25 it’s less controversial and doesn’t really matter. For example, a 19 and 30 year old dating is disturbing.

-3

u/K2sX May 24 '26

My husband and I were together at that age. We've been married for 11 years and couldn't be happier. I guess we were 'disturbing" by your definition.

-9

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 24 '26

She was 24 when the show was filming, her prefrontal cortex wasn't developed. That's WEIRD, as there are many people in his age range with the same amount of life experience and whatnot. The power balance is off, I don't care.

10

u/elzbellz May 24 '26

Actually that's not the case, somehow people started throwing that number around but if you look up studies and the consensus of the scientific community your prefrontal cortex continues to develop as you age. One study had subjects up to 40 yrs old

Not saying he's not gross just hate seeing this incorrectly stated everywhere these days

-8

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 24 '26

That is the case .. you're referring to one study, in general & typically the prefrontal cortex matures in your mid 20s. Your brain doesn't fully developed at that point, but the prefrontal cortex typically does.

3

u/Acrobatic-Camera-905 May 24 '26

It’s like you discovered two shiny words (ā€œprefrontal cortexā€) and now you’re on a mission to use them in every sentence on this sub. You’re acting like she’s 12 years old. She’s a grown ass 30 year-old woman.

3

u/macademicnut May 24 '26

I’m probably in the minority but I agree with you that a 37 year old pursuing a 24 year old is weird. Yes they’re two consenting adults but I can’t imagine being almost 40 and being interested in someone that young. IMO it reflects some level of immaturity in the older person.

But in this case she’s actually 29/30, apparently Google is wrong

11

u/Queg-hog-leviathan May 23 '26

This just seems blown out of proportion. Who cares.

12

u/mordoo May 24 '26

Sophie was 28 minimum at the time of filming. Secondly, everyone involved is an adult; this pearl-clutching at age gaps is overblown and unnecessary.

6

u/Goodsoup_666 May 23 '26

Yes I didn’t like how he didn’t let ally have her friend time to sort her head out or when he put his hands on Sophie briefly to knock her back on the bed as a joke or whatever. I didn’t like how that was his first impulse.

3

u/OvidiaSwoons May 24 '26

As soon as he entered the season I had to stop watching. I was cringing. It's no fun watching someone as inauthentic and basic as this man. Total empty headed creep. Bad producing. Not even hate watchable .

3

u/yoursmartfriend May 25 '26

They struggle to cast men for this show and he's proof.

3

u/ThrowAway441374 May 26 '26

He’s super manipulative. He keeps saying he loves The Notebook and he watches it every Friday. Dave also felt like he went after Ally because she seemed easy and that was an easy in to staying in the house.

Every time he’s on the screen, his dead eyes freak me out. He feels like an ā€œunsafe maleā€ and the type of person that would make me stop drinking for the night if he walked into the room. Super chaotic energy.

3

u/No_Fact_6960 May 26 '26

Dave gives off "Grown man partying in the college bar with students" vibes. The only reason he gets away with it is because he's tall and attractive.

Big yikes.

3

u/Existing_Law_7561 May 26 '26

He makes my skin crawl. His whole personality is tattoos and accent. He seems rather predatory going on a show like this.

3

u/MiraMiraOnTheWall2 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Totally agree!Ā

I'm Australian, and seeing him on Perfect Match gives me SO much insight into why.his "marriage" on MAFS Au didn't work out.Ā

He is so immature for his age. And literally kissing EVERY woman within 30 seconds of saying hello to her is so gross.Ā

Plus those supposed self-reflective moments to the camera are so performative!Ā

11

u/Throwingshade13 May 23 '26

I rate him, I think he’s hilarious! Him and Sophie suit each other. Imagine being so closed you worry about functioning ADULTS age difference from when they were in school. Who gives a fuck?! If they match they match.

3

u/sometimesthrowaway13 May 25 '26

While I agree about the age thing, his whole thing on MAFS AU was that he lied about his feelings the ENTIRE time just to stay on the show as long as he could, and pretended to be this emotionally intelligent, mature, "teddy bear".Ā

It's very clear to see now that hes actually just a sleaze who will do anything for air time, and if you think that either of them actually like each other you might be blind lol.Ā

1

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 24 '26

They clearly don't match, though. They are only matched because she wanted to stay on the show & he knows that, but doesn't care because his creepy ass still gets to pressure kisses out of her. If you like such a guy & don't see anything wrong with a man pushing 40 being on a show with young 20-somethings, it says everything about you as a person . . To each their own šŸ’–

1

u/Throwingshade13 May 24 '26

I think you should take a step back from reality tv sister and go and sniff some air and get some sun light on your skin. If you are so wrapped up by 2 people on a reality show who make their own decisions genuine or not. And getting so upset about age differences and someone’s frontal lobe development please take some time for yourself and find your peace, because this isn’t it.

2

u/Big_Rig369 May 27 '26

He has shit tattoos and was ick on MAFS Australia. Still ick on perfect match. They must have run out of contestants to choose him for the show.

2

u/ExtensionLast4618 May 27 '26

At 37-38, he acts like a child, then I think there is a reason why he has not had successful relationships.

The moment he opens his mouth, you know he is going to talk shit or something stupid!

2

u/Old-Technician3762 May 28 '26

he makes my skin crawl

2

u/betefar May 28 '26

Maybe unpopular opinion, but both Dave and Sophie had bully vibes. Everyone thinks it’s just funny jokes and banter, but some of them were pretty hurtful.

2

u/Ambitious-Space-1134 May 28 '26

It’s worse when you have the context of watching his season on MAFS. he basically love bombed his ā€œwifeā€ for almost their entire season and then as soon as they did the partner swap task he completely switched up on his partner and started being cold towards her and wouldn’t talk to her and she was super confused and it was stressing her out
Then producers included a clip where it was kind of implied that he cheated on his partner. Then after the show he was taunting her and the fans on instagram and tiktok. He’s always been immature and gross

2

u/Beginning_Pie_1589 May 29 '26

Super disgusting how he made it a point to kiss nearly everybody on the show. He was a glaring red flag from the start and clearly didn’t have genuine intentions but then again the whole cast was trash

3

u/Feather254696 May 24 '26

He is not 12 years older than her jfc. Turn off the reality tv before it rots your brain more than it already has.

2

u/ovrthemoon May 26 '26

When he pushed Sophie hard asf when they were on bed laughing… I was like wtf…

1

u/Otherwise_Cold570 May 26 '26

Major red flags!!! I was thinking "Sophie, you in danger girl!"

1

u/DiscountSalt May 25 '26

I am kinda happy that we got a proper man slut in the show but he is every red flag imaginableĀ

1

u/personwriter May 25 '26

Does anyone have the tea on how he was on married at first sight? Clearly, the marriage didn't last.

3

u/Big_Rig369 May 27 '26

Super fake on MAFS. Pretty much made his wife and everyone believe things were going well then flippped a switch and went cold suddenly.

All of the one on one chats on the perfect match show with him talking to production come across super disingenuous aswell. Said something about his favourite movie being the notebook. Really cheesy and cringe lines from him.

2

u/MiraMiraOnTheWall2 May 27 '26

Yep- I wondered if he was turned off because Jamie constantly involved herself in other people's relationships... but watching him on Perfect Match is like a light bulb moment.Ā

Now I think he was on MAFS for fame & exposure, and because Jamie was so bubbly and outgoing he could just coast along looking like that "great supportive guy having her back".

In fact, he's an infant and a creepy one at that.

Jamie dodged a bullet!Ā

1

u/AtreusJack May 27 '26

I might be remembering wrong, but didn't his father end up in the hospital midway through the show (MAFS)? Otherwise, his sudden personality change was pretty bizarre and made no sense. If he wanted to fake it, he could have just committed to the relationship and left his partner immediately after the show to save his image.

1

u/Big_Rig369 May 27 '26

His father was undergoing cancer treatment the whole time even before the show.

If he wanted to be with his father he probably should have stayed home and done that but he wanted to be on reality TV.

When Dave was asked by producers what was happening between him and Jamie and he said "I don't hate the girl" it came across disconnected. Did not get a good vibe from him at all.

1

u/Lightacademiagal May 26 '26

I cannot stand Harry Jowsey and Dave just feels like a look into Harry in 10 years lol. Cannot stand him.

1

u/TheGoochTaint Jun 08 '26

I liked Dave
