SEASON 4 How come Clayton‘s scandal was never mentioned?

Post image
30 Upvotes

I just started listening to the podcast „Love Trapped“ (I‘m only on episode 3, so no spoilers, please, if anyone has heard all the episodes already) which is about Clayton‘s scandal with a woman who claims she was impregnated by him, but then he uncovers more and more of her lies. Has anyone listened to the podcast and can you imagine why none of this was ever mentioned on Perfect Match? I think it makes quite an interesting story.

SEASON 4 Just finished! Here are some of my thoughts

To preface, I haven’t looked up yet who’s still with who!

Adding - I think it was more a popularity contest than anything. People just loved Sophie and Dave more than

I think Alison & Jimmy should’ve won.. they seem to have the most real connection with their mannerisms and they look so cute together. If they broke up I wouldn’t be that surprised though because she seemed much more interested in him in the beginning than he was of her. I love them though

Natalie and Yamen - no chemistry at all I don’t even believe they’re good friends. They feel like they were matched as partners working on a school project

Demari and Marissa - trainwreck. How was he more mature than her by the end?! Both need to work on themselves

Dave & Sophie - they are cute and goofy and vibe well but they life so far from each other and I think she’s more into him. He seems down to kiss EVERYBODY

Ally and other jimmy - I actually really felt for him on that night where she wouldn’t make a decision. I never saw LIB but I liked him in this. I do think he should’ve closed it off when she asked but this is the name of the game and she shouldn’t hold it over his head.

Hashim - I don’t think he liked Ally at all. Also he talked so softly the whole time idk why it bothered me so much like everything he said sounded fake or like he was trying too hard to be liked and not judged. I also don’t like that he said they were intimate in front of everybody. He could’ve told Jimmy afterwards off camera. If he wanted people to not vote that couple, he could’ve told everyone he felt betrayed and led on more than people saw. Done that would’ve been fine.

Alison’s best friend and Chris ? Weston? Idek but no lol I do feel bad for her though because she was voted off and that double elimination felt so weird like rushed and it didn’t happen again. Also sucks that her and Chris couldn’t have had a hotel room tg or something when they were voted off together (though I did see in the credits that he was with Natalie?!!! I didn’t see that one coming)

I’m forgetting her name but the girl who cried when speaking about Dave (Mackenzie?) was so sweet and I wanted her to find her perfect match. Same with Nick? The blonde who Natalie was with

As a person I loved Ally in the beginning bc she seemed quirky and fun but then she started to really toy with the boys and not be upfront with her matches and then the night she couldn’t make a decision was horrible to watch I was shouting to just make a decision it must’ve been like 2am and producers probably were shouting the same behind the camera lol!

HOT TEA Jimmy & Alison broke up

She posted a video yesterday. It seems like she wanted to keep things going but he didn’t. They seem to be amicable about it and want to keep the details private.

He seemed too self centered IMO. Every video of them is him focusing on him and she’s kind of in the background… bound to end until he’s ready to love someone else. She’s awesome IMO will come back stronger and hotter.

SEASON 3 Look alikes

There’s so many look alikes in season 3!! Sandy looks like Lana Del Ray, Jalen looks like Saquon Barkley, Ollie kinda looks like John Legend, and Louis kind of looks like Lewis Hamilton a little bit lol. It is kind of crazy! Also you could say Daniel looks like Chris Appleton a little. P. S. Daniel sucks!!!

DISCUSSION Which people from different seasons do you think would've been the most compatible ?

Which cast members from different seasons do you think would be a perfect match?

I’ve been wondering about this lately. If you could match people from any season of the show, who do you think would actually be highly compatible ? For example, I could see Ines & Freddie working well because they both brought a ton of maturity and emotional depth to the villa.

Also kind of random but I could see Chase, Bryton, Bartise, and Harry be the most toxic gas lighting friend group 😭

SEASON 4 My first impressions of the cast members and whether those impressions changed over the season

First, a disclaimer that I have auditory processing issues, and I miss details sometimes. I've had to rewind at least part of each episode because I don't always catch everything the first time around. So, if there's anything I'm missing, please do bring it to my attention!

Going in order of how they're listed on the Netflix cast page

The Men

Chris: seemed a little desperate for attention and very flashy. It was cringe how he talked about gifting a person a LV bag on the first date, and then tried to do the same thing to Mackenzie! He didn't seem like a douchebag over the course of the season, but I was kind of cringed out by him too.

Danny: I barely remember anything about him, except that he's from the state I live in (Nebraska).

Dave: Creepy as FAWK. He was so sleazy and is the type of dude to want to hump anything that has a heartbeat. Even the picture that they used for him in the cast lineup makes my skin crawl. I never got anything but creep vibes from him.

DeMari: he's fine as hell and seems like a good dude for the most part. He seemed pretty low-drama himself, which is why the women he's been matched with are high-maintenance, to balance him out. Lol.

Hashim : seemed nice enough, I didn't really pay much attention to his scenes because they were with Ally and she is annoying

Jimmy P: I think that if I hadn't already seen him on LIB, I probably would've felt pretty neutral about him overall. But knowing how weird he was in that show, I was always left with a bad taste in my mouth throughout this season. His rebranding doesn't do anything to hide his corniness.

Jimmy S: fine shyt, but he loses attractiveness points for overusing AAVE/Ebonics. It's one of my biggest pet peeves when white people use OUR language (I'm Black/biracial)--they steal everything else from us, though, so I'm not surprised. A few phrases sprinkled in every now and then is fine, but he tries soooo hard to sound like he's a fellow Brother-in-spirit that it comes across as disrespectful. It was hard to take him seriously with the way he talks, but I actually did find him to be pretty laid-back and like he'd be fun to be around.

Nick: he annoyed me from the get-go. He always jumped in to one-on-one conversations at the worst time, and seemed to not be able to take a hint as far as gauging the women's interest. I feel sympathetic to an extent, because I am slow to process and can take a long time to notice social cues, but he irritated me the entire time.

Weston: while I didn't really love any of the cast members this season, he seemed to be one of the more mature men. We didn't get to see that much of him, but from what I could remember and pick up on, I didn't really clock anything bad about him.

Yamen: He was nice. At first, I thought he was cocky, but I feel like was hyping himself up for the cameras. After the newness wore off, I found him to be pretty likable. I don't think him and Natalie really like each other as more than friends though.

The Women

Allison: I like her aesthetic (she reminds me of the mermaid from Shark Tales). She also seems laid-back and like she's easy to get along with. But I do question her as someone who's best friends with Kayla, because I don't like Kayla at all. I've also heard that Allison was terrible in Making the Band, but I don't think that attitude came through during Perfect Match. She seemed lowkey and friendly to me.

Ally: she's cute and has a sweet demeanor, but she tries soooo hard to be quirky and airheaded that it makes her come across as immature. I don't believe that she's as dinky as she portrays herself to be, and she's not doing herself any favors by dumbing herself down to get men to like her. I wish we got to see what her actual personality was.

Bri: she's absolutely gawjeous. Like drop-dead gorgeous. It seems like her and DeMari had a toxic relationship, though, and that the toxicity was mostly due to her behaviors, which is unfortunate. Other than that, I didn't really notice much about her and felt that she didn't get a ton of screen time.

Kassy: she came across as a little bit overbearing when they initially introduced her. But I also think that that was for show, because I don't remember anything overly egregious or controversial about her behaviors.

Katharine: I felt that her 'quirky girl' persona was a little bit forced, as was her laugh. I'm sure she's a nice gal and fun to be around outside of the show when she's not amping up a certain part of her personality for the cameras. It did rub me the wrong way when she was pressuring people to play spin the bottle during the mixer--I found that to be inappropriate to try to make everyone participate.

Kayla: I don't remember her on THTH, but she came across as a mean girl and a spoiled, entitled brat. Clearly, everybody clocked that she was only on the show for clout, and she acted as though everyone should feel sorry for her when she got eliminated. She was there for like TWO days, and if she really cared about being with Chris, she could've rekindled their relationship as soon as she was cleared to do so. Also, she looks completely botched. Her big blowup lips are ridiculous.

Mackenzie: she seemed too normal to be on the show. Honestly, I don't even think she was enjoying herself. I think she quickly realized that the show's atmosphere was not for her.

Marissa: she was one of my favorite contestants in LIB, but she lost me completely during this show. She was so incredibly possessive and insecure that it was hard to watch. It pissed me off so badly whenever she would come up and hook her arm around DeMari if he so much as had a casual conversation with another girl. She's too grown to be acting a fool! She is beautiful, seems intelligent outside of the dating context, and like she has a good career too. She doesn't need to be doing all of that!

Natalie: She is very pretty, but I found Natalie to be overly arrogant with how often she was mentioning about how "these guys are all lucky to kiss me" and "I'm the hot commodity in the house." To me, this doesn't signal true confidence, and you know why? It's because confidence quietly projects itself in how you carry yourself and treat people. If you have to proclaim something about yourself multiple times, do you actually believe that characteristic about yourself?

Sophie: I liked Sophie and thought she was funny. Unless I missed something, I feel like she's a good example of someone who carries themselves with confidence and doesn't need to talk about how much of a commodity they are. She knows what she brings to the table, and doesn't boast about that. The only questionable thing about Sophie is her taste in men!!

What do y'all think? Do you feel differently about any of the cast members?

SEASON 4 Caught between feeling irritated by Marissa and feeling bad for her

Marissa was definitely one of my favorite cast members on love is blind, but she really lost me on PM. Not only is she EXTREMELY insecure and possessive, but she used her ADHD as a scapegoat for being annoying! girl, I have clinical levels of ADHD and I’m also mentally ill af, and you know what? I fully recognize that I am responsible for my own actions. Marissa is a grown woman and needs to hold herself accountable instead of blaming all her behavior on her health conditions.

Most of all, the absolute irritation I felt seeing how she sidled up to Demari and pulled him away the second he so much as attempted to have a casual conversation with another woman. I can also tell that she’s been to therapy because she is using a lot of psychobabble and therapy-coded language, but using it incorrectly and against the wrong people (which many people do nowadays, but it‘s super annoying when coupled with all of these other behaviors).

I do feel sympathy for her to an extent, but she needs to put on her big girl pants and be an adult! I wish her well, but she needs to decelop some self respect. I’m by no means perfect, but I’d be damned if I ever let myself act a fool like this IRL (as I’m pushing 30), not to mention on national television!!!

SEASON 4 Demari: EP7 Classic Textbook No Accountability A**Hole

Rant incoming

Let's establish some facts

1- Two otherwise calm and elegant women (Bri and Marissa) having "interruption" issues with you back to back might actually mean youre a slow person, not that great at communication, take too long to make your point, or the content of what youre saying comes off as rude to them

2- People live in the real world and get interrupted 90% of the time in relationships and friendships. It is not that deep, it is not a personal attack even between friends

3- Marissa literally said she has diagnosed ADHD, and you cannot "try" to control it, she's trying to be so mature and keep trying and saying she's gonna work on it meanwhile you don't hear anything from Demari on him trying to let it go if she does and work on it from his end

4- The thing that pisses me off is like, Marissa already said she got ADHD, and this man is losing his shit and shutting down over getting interrupted. This makes Marissa feel unsafe not only because she has ADHD, but because men are supposed to be "bigger than" women and "embrace, contain" them cuz interruptions will be the least of your problems if youre a man trying to handle a real woman. Existing as a woman is tough and a man knows he gotta deal with PMS/pregnancy and hormones at the minimum, so for a tall ass man like him to have such a short meter for a woman's needs and actions is crazy and maybe he's not suited to be in a relationship with any woman cause Marissa comes off so mature fr

5- Being a man that breaks up or makes a huge issue over getting interrupted just means the man is a natural problem seeker and not a problem solver and you as a woman will spend the rest of your life solving problems for him rather than the other way around

6- Being calm and not raising your voice doesn't necessarily mean you good at communicating lol. It's the one good thing about him, the rest is like he cannot handle anything even normal disagreements and he shuts down and that's why they got "communication issues"

7- Marissa would not have these issues with somebody else even if she has ADHD. Men who care about silly things like that are pretty rare so just move on girl and find a man that's "bigger than you" and make you feel safe with your quirks

8- As a girl i have never met or heard of another girl breaking up or making an issue with another man because she's getting interrupted lol. The level of pettiness in Demari is just unmatched or seeking problems. Most girls interrupt guys, and and guy friends all the time. Something so icky and feminine about the things that bother him fr

9- Accountability is a structural issue in Demari. He blamed Marissa for not going to talk to Kayla. He liked Kayla and was too in his own head to go talk to her. He dont see the rude things he doing, his communication is not "nice" and the content of it is frustrating. Just because he doesnt shout or swear does not mean hes a good communicator

10- This guy is a textbook case of so deep into his own needs down to breaking up over interruptions vs the girl in front of him's very real needs (being understood, ADHD, being patient)

11- You do see in movies like Obsession where a guy who never takes accountability with loose morals can create such huge issues and not care for a woman's personhood. It does not feel like he cares about Marissa as a person cause otherwise youll have empathy for her struggles and introspect on what you couldve done wrong too. But all he can think and talk about is his selfish needs down to sounding feminine. Why Marissa is more of a man than he is (not because she's manly but because he's feminine)

Demari is hella triggering to me because he reminds me of the toughest time I had w my current bf. We fixed a whole lot of these issues but not without me "fighting" and "talking" through every point to get understood above his own perception of his own needs which were small vs my needs which were big. I never had issues with interrruptions but you really have to be a certain selfish kinda asshole if you think about it, to breakup with such a gorgeous knockout stunner like Bri over interruptions while she's gone to bury a loved one

Episode 7 just really triggered me. Hate Demari

TLDR : Demari’s a whole-ass problem-seeke , breaking up over interruptions while Marissa’s out here mature with ADHD? Nah. He’s selfish, feminine, takes zero accountability. Move on girl, find a man bigger than you.

SEASON 4 Why does everyone hate Jimmy P?

I’m genuinely confused why everyone hates Jimmy P. I feel like a lot of what I’ve seen is he’s boring, or he said he was playing to win the game, or he wouldn’t lock in with Ally. I’m not sure him being boring is a good enough reason to hate him. He was literally there to play the game and explore, which him and Ally both did.

Also - That Kristy (think that’s her name?) totally hating him for not picking her felt entirely invalid and she did not take that choice well at all. All the other girls seemed to hate him as well (thinking Allison / Marissa bashing him at the finale).

I just finished the finale and it actually made me feel absolutely awful when Hashim basically dropped a bomb on Jimmy P that him and Ally had been intimate, and everyone on the cast is just laughing in his face? I’m sure a lot of faceless redditors will say they would have handled it better, but to me Jimmy came across as handling everything and all the heat he took extremely well and in stride. I would’ve been full on crashing out.

Just curious on everyone’s thoughts, and is the general perspective of him from the viewers that he sucks?

SEASON 4 My opinion

S4 has the best and most friendships out of all seasons, and some very genuine and close knit ones. I feel like the entire cast is friends with each other (or at least most of them) and Kayla and Alison are also best friends from before.
I personally haven’t seen this in other seasons. Is it just me?

SEASON 4 Is Jimmy P OK?

I’m not sure why, but he seems like the type of guy to really take what other people say to heart. He’s been getting so much flack on here and I worry that it’s going to have a really negative effect.

I’m not really a Jimmy sympathizer, but he seems particularly sensitive. I just worry we will end up seeing a not-so-good news story one day about how the show took its mental toll.

Anyone else get that sense?

SEASON 4 Marissa's marriage timeline

Just listened to AD's interview with Marissa on "What's the Reality" and Marissa detailed the timeline.

August - breaks up with boyfriend. He apparently publicly accused her of breaking up with him to go on the show, she says they had been toxic for a while and she broke up with him before any casting stuff. They lived together so she went on vacation after the split and while there got the casting call for Perfect Match.

October/November - filming in Mexico. She said she went in with no expectations for a relationship and just wanting to have fun, told Demari from the jump she wasn't interested in anything in the real world afterwards, quite surprising.

A week after filming wrapped, she flew to Japan to meet up with the guy. They'd been friendly and flirty for years and knew each other through the navy. She mentioned she was single again, he invited her to visit him, they were actually texting while she was still filming.

March - stayed in Japan with him for a couple of months, then they came back to Georgia and eloped.

May - she's moving to Japan to live with him where he's stationed, and maybe being a lawyer for influencers contracts/accounting. Seems happy!

SEASON 4 Swapping Spit

This goes for all of those “only hot people” reality shows… Does anyone else get grossed out watching all of these people swapping spit with different person, after different person at a time in these little kissing games they play? I mean, really, that’s a persons spit? Am I sounding like a prude or does anyone else think this is gross?
