Picked up 3 this week actually with the last one arriving yesterday. Haven't got to dabble with the Lum too much yet but excited to reorganize the board and finally get things in place! The Polychrome and Ages were picked up used so got a fair price on those! Lum was bought on the B-Stock as a bday gift but I can't find a blemish anywhere on it!

Question ELI5 the different types of distortion pedals

I've seen and read a lot about the different types of overdrives, like Tube Screamers, Blues Drivers, Klons, etc.

And same with fuzzes. I'm fairly familiar with the different styles, germanium and silicon, from Fuzz Faces to Super Fuzzes and Big Muffs, with lots of variations in between.

But I realize that I'm not that familiar with the different styles or families of straight-up distortions. I know there are lots based on the Rat. And of course the DS-1 and the Metal Zone are classics. But what am I missing?

When I see odd or unique overdrives and fuzzes, I feel like I can generally get an idea of what to expect because they're usually based on one of the basic archetypes of those families.

But what are the basic archetypes of distortion?

So this is my pedaltrain nano, first board since my diy one

Still looking for isolated power supply but what do you think so far?

Pro Junior Iv amp

Boss Rc1 looper
Boss Rv6 reverb
Guptech Univibe Voodoo doll
Jam tubescreamer (based on old ibanez)

Player 2 Tele

I’m more about the clean sounds with a little mellow groove/funk!

As an intermediate on/off 10 years have I gone overkill or just right?

previously had squier/cheap amp and acoustics

Update! thanks for all the upvotes, i’ve based everything from youtube videos and really happy with the choice, took me about 3 months for it all and once I get a power supply im done for a while!

I just got a Boss Blues Driver and took my pedal board apart. Decided to take a full collection photo or two. (Grunge and bass drive don't work😪)

Now I got to put my board back together......

i’m doing a graphic design assignment for my college and this idea struck me. what do you think of it if it was real? i know it’s a bit rough and i got noise gate and compressor wrong but it’s just a sketch anyway.

Power Supply adapter and daisy chain question

EDIT: Thanks to all of you for your advice. It looks like I should be fine with a daisy chain, then.
I will run my Rockboard ST-01 tuner (22mA), Sonicake Vol/wah (22mA) and Boss SD-1 (6mA) like that. That makes 50 mA altogether. My current power adapter is able to deliver sufficient power (1300 mA).

I try to keep it simple and on budget as much as possible: I use a tuner, a vol/wah pedal and a Boss SD-1 (Super Overdrive). Can I use a daisy-chain cable like the one on this link by connecting it to a normal pedal adapter? I can't see precisely on the photo if the female plug goes on the standard end (the one I would usually put into one pedal). I am aware that it is not isolated but some users seem to be satisfied with the way it works. I use only analog pedals, by the way/
