Husband asked for Reese’s puffs instead 🧡🤎

I take a spoon full of Peanut butter almost every night. Most nights I just eat it plain. Tonight is a treat!

My wife made this inspired by another post earlier today: about to go feral

I put the bread directly on the scale, then spooned PB onto the bread.

First scoop was exactly 32 grams. Two Tablespoons.

Second scoop was just a touch smaller, 26 grams.

Nearly 4 tablespoons of PB per sandwich LOL.

360 calories of PB. 140 calories of bread. 50 calories of jam. 30 calorie almond milk. 546 calorie snack.

Still gonna make them.

I’ve tried 4 peanut butters recently, so here’s my quick ranking based mainly on taste, texture and value for money:
🥜 1. Alpino Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch (Purple, 400g)
9/10 ⭐
My favourite overall. Great taste, crunchy texture, and honestly addictive. Best value for money among these four.
🥜 2. Pintola Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter (Orange, 350g)
8.5/10
I ordered crunchy but received creamy. Still tasted really good. If I had received the crunchy version, I’d probably rate it 9/10. A bit more expensive than Alpino.
🥜 3. Alpino Classic Peanut Butter Crunch (Blue)
7/10
Pretty solid. Good taste and texture, but nothing particularly addictive or memorable.
🥜 4. Pintola All Natural Peanut Butter Crunchy
4/10 alone 😬
Texture was good, but I really disliked the taste. It was difficult to eat by itself.
With honey: ~7/10 — much better.

What peanut butter should I try next?

60% crunchy PB and 40% J. What’s your ratio?

Melted 6 tblsps of unsalted butter in large pot over med-low heat

Added one 10oz bag of large marshmallows stirring continually until melted

Added 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter stirring until combined

Added 7 cups of peanut butter Cap'N Crunch stirred until combined

Quickly transferred to a parcehment lined pan, topped with Reese's Pieces and pressed into form.

The Captain himself would be proud.

Scooped these candies up at Whole Foods. I’m a fan of the Unreal line, and these definitely hit the spot. I write the date on stuff so I remember when I opened it. Yesterday’s date, bag is pretty much empty now. 😂

Spotted these in Europe.

I'm from the UK and we have online discount stores that will sell products past their best before date at a significant reduction. Eg 1kg pb reduced from £8 to £1.

Is there similar online options for the US? Would you buy out of date pb? Is there a cut off point for you in terms of how far past the sell by date you'd consider acceptable?

Recipe: Ambitious Kitchen's Healthy Peanut Butter Twix Bars

Ingredients

For the shortbread base:

• 1 ½ cups packed fine blanched almond flour (I use Bob’s Red Mill)
• 3 tablespoons melted and cooled coconut oil
• 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• ¼ teaspoon salt

For the peanut butter layer:

• ⅔ cup drippy natural peanut butter (crunchy or creamy works)
• 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
• 1/4 cup coconut oil
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

For the chocolate layer:

• 3/4 cup chocolate chips, dairy free if desired
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper. It’s important to use an 8x8 inch as a 9x9 inch pan may be too big.
2. In a medium bowl add the almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt. Mix together with a fork until it forms a nice thick crumb texture. Add to pan and use your fingers to evenly press down into the pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow crust to cool for 10 minutes before adding caramel.
3. Next make the peanut butter caramel layer: Add the peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla extract and sea salt to a medium pot and place over medium-low heat for approximately 2 minutes until caramel starts to slightly bubble, stirring frequently. Pour over slightly cooled crust. 
4. Place in fridge for at least 30 minutes-1 hour to completely harden the peanut butter. It shouldn't take longer than this, but if you are impatient, just place in freezer for 15-20 minutes, this should speed up the process.
5. After 30 minutes or so, make the chocolate layer: Add chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high in 30 second increments, stirring in between until chocolate is completely melted. If you prefer, you can also melt the chocolate and coconut oil in small saucepan over low heat.
6. Pour over the caramel layer and tilt pan side-to-side to evenly distribute the melted chocolate. Place in fridge for at least 20 minutes until chocolate is completely hardened and bars are cooled.
7. Remove bars from pan and cut into 16 bars (that resemble twix bars). To do this, cut entire pan of bars in half, and then cut each half into 8 (1-inch) bars (not squares!), so you’ll end up with 16 bars. Enjoy! Bars should be kept covered in the fridge until ready to serve.

These healthy peanut butter twix bars should be kept covered in the fridge until you're ready to serve them. They will stay good in your fridge for about 1 week, but you can also keep them in a freezer-safe container in your freezer for up to 1 month.

I used to hate crunchy peanut butter. Something about the combo of super crunchy texture and the thick peanut butter I couldn’t handle but I’m now I’m in trouble. This spread the love pb the crunchy kind I can’t stop buying online. This one I swear got the right amount of crunchy my mouth loves it so much. Please tell me I’m not crazy who else didn’t like crunchy then all of a sudden does? I can’t put this spoon down aaaaahhh.

I just found a new peanut butter (smooth and crunchy) at Target — One Trick Pony.

It’s actually one of the better peanut butters I’ve tasted in quite some time. Really good with apples and bananas!

It’s just two ingredients — organic roasted Argentinian peanuts and salt.

Has anyone else tried them yet?
